Unbeatable views of Key West. Â The bar could be easier to get to to from the viewing deck, and their offerings could be a bit better as well in terms of beers, but what your here for is the view and it didn't disappoint. Â We were lucky enough to spend our first sunset here in Key West, and the only one we spent on dry land. Â We also visited on a weeknight in September so I can see this place being packed on a different night or time of year. Â They would really do themselves a favor by putting some money into this bar, opening up the entire roof and bar area, and maximizing this place out to its full potential, it just seems like a gold mine that goes untapped. Â We literally got to the roof with 15 minutes to spare before the sunset and there were maybe 20 people there already, maybe twice that many by the time we left after sunset.
Review Source:Perched atop the Crowne Plaza hotel, this "lounge" is more like a huge wraparound balcony. Â It's free and open to the public until 10pm at night. Â There are a few tables and chairs and nothing else. Â But truly, it needs nothing else that could possibly take away from what we came to see: the beautiful Key West sunset.
The view is breathtaking. Â You can see clear across the horizon. Â The leaves of thousands of gorgeous palm trees lead out to deep blue waters that serve as the perfect base for a golden setting sun. Â So peaceful and serene. Â The perfect end to our day-trip to Key West.
For an 8:00pm-ish sunset, we arrived around 7:15pm. Â It was already standing room only so if you want to be able to sit and watch the sun set, I would suggest arriving more than an hour prior to sunset. Â There's a small bar with a very friendly bartender. Â Drinks are a tad pricey considering it's not a club and there's no waiters or entertainment provided but again, it's the sunset. Â You won't see the sunset quite like this anywhere else on the island.
