This place has been around forever. Â I was at the library today looking thru old Pendleton Times newspapers from the 30's and even saw it advertised back then! Â Except it was called Compton's Post back then. Â When I was here last October it was called Eva's Pancakes, in the summer of "97 it was called "The Post". Â Someone told me it goes back and forth between the Post and the Top Notch. Â Who knows why. Â
I was pretty impressed with my lunch, which was a breakfast item. Â Thank goodness for places that serve breakfast all day long! Â I had the Corned Beef Hash with Eggs and Hash Browns (and toast--too many carbs at once for me). Â It was very good. Â So good that I came back for a late dinner about 8:30 after I got kicked out of the library when they closed. Â I got the roast pork and it was delicious--very tender slices of pork loin with gravy and a pretty good dressing under the meat. Â It came with two sides, and I got the potato skins (which I had to get a take-out box for) and applesauce , which was perfect accompaniment to the pork loin. Â I hope to get back to try the chicken salad croissant sandwich. Â
The only negative was they charged me too much for the meal, but that was quickly corrected.
