Updated: Toscana is really good and on a Friday night you just walk in and get a table.
Their calamari is among the best quality I have ever consumed with big fat cuts that are lightly fried and cooked to perfection.
I've ordered the chicken bocconicini which is amazing and I have ordered the penne primavera. The primavera is prepared in an aglio e olio as opposed to a light alfredo. For a simple pasta dish this was delicious.
For dessert we have had the chocolate chip cannoli and the cappuccino cake. Both are fantastic.
The price points are fairly inexpensive for the quality and selection of entrees. I am not thrilled with the decor but during my last visit I noticed they are changing up the layout.
One time I was there, I was disappointed to learn that they don't serve  champagne by the glass, one should ask if a bottle is open. And twice my leftovers were forgotten about. So sad.
One word: MORE
This is now my favorite Italian restaurant and to think that I almost didn't go. Yesterday I was happily doing my errands when all of a sudden it dawned on me -- "Dang! Penny is waiting for me at the new Italian place." Â Double dose of guilt because I am now 15 minutes late and this is the second time I forgot lunch. Guys, I am telling you this story because Toscana will get you out of the dog house -- it's that good.
Toscana was so amazing, our food delicious, freshly prepared and served with a smile and sexy Italian accents. We were the only two people there for lunch (it really is that new) and we received the royal treatment. Â Ben, the manager, came over and introduced himself to us and gave us dessert on the house.
We started off with calamari and a traditional marinara sauce - overall the appetizer was good. I had the Capellini Sinatra - capellini noodles with fresh shrimp and scallops and tomatoes. The seafood was wonderfully cooked and generous in size. Most of my meal followed me home because there was just too much to eat in one sitting. Â
We then had espressos and tiramisu. I don't know which one to rave about first. Â This was my very first espresso and it won't be my last. I never knew coffee tasted so good. Smooth and no bitterness. B-Bye decaf.
The tiramisu is worthy of it's own poem. Usually restaurant tiramisu has lady fingers or some other soggy icky thing at the bottom of the plate. Oh my, I don't know how they do it, but Tocana's tiramisu just melts in your mouth. Plated beautifully and surrounded with just the right amount of caramel, raspberry, and chocolate sauces. I was willing to pick up the plate and lick it clean. However Toscana, with it's beautiful outside dinning (no plastic chairs) and Italian music convinced me to do otherwise.
My dear friend Penny easily forgave me. Â Thank you Toscana.
