Ok put this in prospective, it is Memorial day weekend in downtown Vallejo . . . . . Â
Out of all the places I went this was defiantly the most vibrant at 2am, not really much going on here but the alcohol is very cheap - $3 a pint.
Music and bar itself is pretty average but if you have a good crowd I can imagine it can really flow in there.
If I was to go back to Vallejo I may go back here if push came to shove, probably will stick to Napa and San Fransico.
A friend and I decided to escape the over-priced madness that is San Francisco and spent a weekend in Vallejo to get away from it all. Can I tell you that the vibe in this bar was as warm and gentle as the breeze off the bay? Everyone we met was friendly, the drinks were well poured and reasonably priced.....oh, and did I mention we got parking right out front!?! Downtown Vallejo is an historic gem. I am seriously considering relocating.
Review Source:This place is about as dive-barish as a gay bar can get.... I've been to many gay bars in many areas and this is about the diviest. But it has charm. Everyone knows everyone and they are welcoming to newcomers.
This is not the place to get all dolled up and put on your $300.00 jeans and shit. It's a fun place to kick back and have a drink and a good time.
Be sure to lock your car doors... it's a bad neighborhood.... lol
OK, my son bartends at Town House, that's how I started going - it's my favorite place to be. Â This is a gay bar where everyone's welcome - if you behave badly, you're asked to leave (yay). Â The owners and regular customers are the best! Â No, this isn't a fancy bar, but I'm totally relaxed and "at home" here. Â There's the bar when you first walk in, and a large room to the left with an ATM machine (this is a cash-only bar), and they also have a pool table, and juke box. Â If you like a good bloody Mary, you have to try their cucumber bloody Mary (made with a cucumber vodka - super smooth). Â You can schedule a private party in their upstairs VIP room for free, they have potlucks during football season, Wednesday is "Open Mic" night for anyone who wants to sing, read a poem, bring your band, etc. Â Thursday & Saturdays are Karaoke Night - OMG - super fun! Â And Town House gets involved in giving back to their local community by participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life and other local events. Â Town House Vallejo is on Facebook, too, where you can learn about their upcoming special events.
Review Source:Yelp removed my previous review as it was not substantive enough. I said things like "WTF, OMG...." You get the picture.
Strangely this place is now highly rated. The negative reviews are vanishing.... Hmmm strange.
So here you go Town House Cocktail Lounge - let me spell it out. The bar is a dive, not in a good way but in a oh my goodness how does this place survive way.
The decor is atrocious. The bar staff unable to mix a descent drink and the smell worrisome.
I do hope I have not disappointed Yelp or Townhouse with this more substantive review ;)
My friend and I came here to have a drink and play pool. This bar has the warm and charming atmosphere that I was looking for. I knew Town House was exactly what I wanted as soon as we walked through the door.
Here's a tip on the door, it's heavy. And if you let it swing into the person behind you, make sure they know you're not gonna hold it for them.
The bartender was very friendly. He made us feel right at home. There is a pool table and it looks like there's Karaoke on Thursdays and Saturdays. There's a jukebox, a PA, an electric keyboard, and I think I saw a guitar amp. The drinks are cheap and it looked like they had a few beers on tap.
The truth about gay dive bars is that if you don't feel like you can be yourself the moment you walk through the door, then you're probably carrying around a lot of negativity and need to learn to love yourself and then learn to love others.
The patrons were mostly cheerful men, drinking and flirting and hanging with friends. There were several straight couples and everyone was welcome. There was some sort of party going on for the owner. My friend and I made new friends immediately. Granted we usually make a good impression on gay men, this room was particularly friendly, and not in a creepy way; This bar is just fun.
It was a Friday night in Vallejo and we were all there to be happy together.
If I ever find myself in Vallejo again. I will absolutely be chillin at the Town House.
Now that R Bar is closed, Town House is the only game in town. Â And they have their game face on. Â Ugh, lame attempt at humor.
Everyone is here instead of spread between the two places and it is tons of fun. Â A great diverse set of entertainment, from blues to comedians. Â Great bartenders and good prices. Â A lot of fun. Â
Now all I need is a good designated driver!
My friend and I wanted to go bar-hopping in Vallejo.  After hitting up a shady, dingy dive a block down, we went to Town House, and what a relief.  Modern, sleek, and so fun.  The bar tender was pretty much my  favorite bar tender I've ever encountered.  We had our own mini karaoke and dance session, and he recommended  a few really good shooters for us as well.  It was a great time, and we're going back next weekend for a birthday party and a drag show.
Review Source:Lovely jukebox in the back. Pool table. Good selection of beer on tap. Even a seating area upstairs for VIPs - but it gets hot. Somehow my inebriated friends and I could only get one fan on. Parking around here can be challenging, but not on Thursday eves. If you decide to go right outside for smokes, and are slightly loud, you may have a local do a drive by yell at your group of friends. That night my friend swore that the local yelled "pastrami" at her.
Local Vallejo entertainment at its best.
this place was cool. We went on a saturday night and as we walked in, the bartender was asking a sleeping man to leave. Thank god my skirt was long enough to ensure that whatever he had previously sat on didn't end up crawling inside me.
The night we went, there was no DJ or live show, just a juke box and budweiser on tap. There's a pool table and an upstairs. All in all it was pretty rad but the only shitty thing about my experience was being followed by a man who had no shame in following me closely.
Town house: cool
Weird, potential robbers: not cool
Maybe that's part of the attraction.
A great little dive bar right in central downtown Vallejo. Â We stopped here one evening after work to grab a couple of beers. Â The people are really friendly, there's a pool table in back, and a list of upcoming events posted on the wall that sound like a lot of fun. Â Anyone coming to Vallejo on the ferry--it's only a short walk up Georgia Street from the ferry station. Â And I think they're open most of the day.
Review Source:The drinking started somewhat early that day. Â We had a Kentucky Derby party at our house and the mint juleps were flowing, and flowing, and flowing... Â A Chinese cabinet got broken, some trespassing occurred, a horse named Barbaro won the race, and we were are all pretty much faded by 5 PM.
Couple of hours and a few red bulls later, though, and we were good to go, and go we did, in fact, to Vallejo's best (and only?) bowling alley, Kentwig Lanes. Â I don't recall doing much bowling though, but we were all extremely perturbed by the fact that the bar was closed. Â Someone went to get some beer and smuggled it in, and we were happy again. Â 11 PM rolled around and we decided to find ourselves a good dive bar.
Town House Cocktail Lounge to the rescue! Â What the hell have I been thinking all this time? Â Why am I drinking $12 martinis in the city when I can get 4 drinks at Town House for the same price?
Town House is a really funky dive bar in downtown Vallejo, a few blocks from the ferry. Â They got a funky bar, play some good tunes, have a pool table towards the back, and a rainbow flag behind the bar. Â The bartender and the patrons are a total riot and damn the drinks are fucking insanely cheap... Â They had some kind of system with points... I don't recall the specifics, but I think it was some insanely simple formula like: Â 1 free drink for every 2 drinks you buy... Â At $4 the whiskey sour (my poison of choice that night, for odds reason... I can't remember the last time I drank a whiskey sour!!) I was pretty lit by the time we left (last call came and went) around 2:30 AM. Â We shot some pool and truly had a blast here... It's way more fun with a group of people, methinkst, but come here you totally should if you wanna have fun, shoot pool, chat with some funky ass drag queens, and drink yourself under the pool table!
