Nice Atmosphere and great food portions! Â The burgers will probably kill you if you try to eat the whole thing in one sitting, but it was tasty and their options are pretty original.
It's your typical suburban bar though. Â The locals are present, the rooms can get crowded and it's difficult to have a conversation with someone, unless you've managed to get a table outside.
All in all, it's a cute bar with pleasant staff and reasonable prices.
Everything I've ever tried has been excellent, and I've been there probably 25 times. Olive Burger with Bleu Cheese with curly fries is my "go to." Â Nice outdoor seating area. Good ambiance inside. Really good service including one waitress who calls you "hon" or "sweetie." It's that kind of place, and I love those kinds of places!
Review Source:Let me start off by saying that I really liked the burger I had but to a point. Â If you read the other reviews they are all pretty positive and with good reason but I do have to nitpick a bit. Â I have eaten here twice now and had a different burger both times and was unable to finish almost half of it and I'm a big eater. Â The burger is so large that it works to it's disadvantage because it is so rich that it is hard to stomach much more than half especially when a heaping mound of fries is staring you in the face. Â While this is hardly a bad review I think it might work better if the portions weren't so huge, maybe the reason I don't eat here more, like one reviewer said "bring your fat pants" or maybe an AED... no wonder so many Americans are obese with diabetes after eating at places like this. Â So if you go maybe split one with your other and you'll both leave satisfied and not feel like you need to shower, stick your finger down your throat or head to bed. Â Good bar and nice outdoor seating when weather is right, only a few steps from metra and it filled quickly with commuters. Â Kind of a surly female bartender that I've heard is the owners daughter and can sort of be that way too often but overall it a great place just maybe not for those that want to maintain a normal waistline or lipid level.
Review Source:Holy burgers, Batman! Â You better bring along your fat pants if you dare try out this local eatery! Â If you leave hungry, you didn't try hard enough. Â
The hankering for an out-of-this-world hamburger hit our house like a ton of bricks recently. Â Since Yelp seldom lets me down, I looked for "burger" near our house, and Tracks was the first entry to pop up, AND it had a stellar review. Â I was pretty sold even before we stepped foot in the door.
Everything about the food is B-I-G. Â We ordered some onion rings to split between the two of us, and what arrived at our table was a portion that would have struck fear into the Flintstones' stomachs. Â The onion rings were huge, I'm talking knife and fork because I'm afraid of wrist strain from picking one of these babies up huge. Â The onion rings were cooked to perfection: not too greasy, crisp batter, sweet still toothy onion center. Â Yum for sure. Â We were no match for the platter, despite our best efforts. Â I was full by the time our food came, and we still had a half a plate of onion rings to boot.
Our server brought us our burgers, and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. Â Apparently I had ordered a family sized burger or something, because this baby was massive. My hungrier half attacked his like it was an ultimate battle between stomach and meat. Â Luckily for him, stomach won. Â He polished off his burger (Steph's to Die For burger + bacon, because let's face it, you can never have enough meat and meat product in your mouth at one time) like a champ, even though he still had a heaping pile of fries in the aftermath. Â I, on the other hand, immediately wimped out. Â I cut a dainty wedge out of my burger (Maui Waui Burger: pineapple + sriracha in my stomach = love) and enjoyed it before noshing on a few fries and throwing in the towel.
I pretty much had to waddle out of that place but vowed to return because there were so many more delicious sounding menu items yet unturned. Â I will return, oh yes, I will return.
What a great place. Â Any burger combination you an imagine. Â Their small chopped salad is enough for two people and tons of avocados! Â We had the black and blue burger and when they say blue they really mean blue. Â A 10 oz. burger done to perfection topped with lots and lots of blue cheese and as if that wasn't enough--onion straws all served on a pretzel bun. Â They have specials every day and today was $5 martini's and $3 sangria and a double stack burger. Â It is TWO 10 oz. burgers with various toppings!! Â Seriously, I actually saw someone finish one!!!!!!!!!!! Â
Staff is great and don't rush you, the tables turn over fast and the place is usually packed. Â Beer is cold and the local crowd very friendly.
This place's burgers are UNREAL. Â They are SO delicious!
I also had the pleasure of coming here on a Tuesday night, so it was $2 burger night. Â How can you beat that?!?! Â (all extras cost $$--lettuce, pickle, tomato, .10 each, and the special sauce was more, but they were all well-worth it!)
My friend and I arrived around 7:45 on a Tuesday night, and even then, the place was packed. Â They happened to have an available table, for us, though, in the back dining room (and although it's way too cold now, they had a nice little patio area, too for the warmer months!)
So my friend and I got cokes and fried pickles to start. Â I highly recommend these bad boys--they are spears (not little rings) and they are delicious! Â Very well-breaded and they come with ranch for dipping.
My friend ordered the Parmesan burger, and seemed to enjoy the crap out of it. Â I chose to make my own burger, and the quality of meat was REALLY good. Â Not like when you get the $1 burger at Rookies, and it's obviously the pre-made patties. Â THIS was great meat. Â They didn't skimp!
Fries were extra, too, but it was a nominal fee.
So for two drinks, two burgers, and an appetizer, our bill was $25. Â Not too shabby!
I would definitely be back again--I saw about 13 other burgers that I wanted to try! :)
I go by this place everyday on the train and never thought to stop in. Am I glad we were in search of a great burger, and with the help of Yelp were led to Tracks. Outstanding burgers, great service, and as an added bonus, they pour a hell of a drink!
Getting back to the reason we went there, the burgers...they were amongst the best I've ever had. I had the peppercorn burger and my gal had the San Francisco. Both were cooked to perfection, had great flavors, and were supported with a hefty dose of fries and homemade chips. I can't wait to go back to try other items on the menu. I've heard everything is terrific. I'm sure the 5th star will come right after that.
Tracks is a small bar, which serves pub grub. Â For burgers and fish fry, it is known the king in the area. Â The line for a table will prove that fact. Â (If you go for Friday Fish Fry, go EARLY like 4:45 or you will wait for a table). Â Their burger menu is truly extensive. Â I think there are 30 burgers listed! Â Vegetarians, they no longer serve a veggie burger, but don't count yourselves out yet. Â There are 10 salads on the menu and a tasty Portobello Veggie Melt.
After 5 years of living in Wisconsin, I am not blown away by the Tracks's fish fry. Â I found the fish to be a little dry, and the corn on the cob that comes with it is soggy. Â What I do like about it is the potato pancakes (true German style), and the fish is actually fish-shaped (Icelandic Cod). Â No rectangular fish patties here, folks!
Note: Â It gets incredibly loud from happy hour on. Â I don't recommend going to eat or drink here if you want to have a long, heart-felt conversation with your table mate. Â You will be yelling over everyone to get a word in.
The place is walking distance from the Cary train station, and they serve drinks. Â All the more reason to get drunk and take the train home!
Cary is hurtin' for restaurants, especially now that Wool Street closed. Â Long live Tracks.
I LOVE YOU TRACKS!
Nothing is better after a long day of class on Wednesdays than .75 cent drafts and four dollar pitchers! Throw in some cheddar balls (with ranch, of course) and crispy fried green beans and you have one great night!!
It's walking distance from the Metra (they literally share a parking lot..) and they have indoor and outdoor seating.
The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because they don't have a veggie burger. (Come on guys!! You have 20 options for meat lovers, not to mention they are on a pretzel bun! Give us veg-heads some lovin', too!)
Great Food! Warning: big portions... One of the best Fish frys that I've been to, not to greasy! And it's all you can eat! The place can get a little packed so you have to try to go about a good 15 minutes before the fish fry starts. Otherwise, once you sit down it's worth it. Message to the Owner. Keep up the good food quality! Ever thought of building a Tracks 2 in the new downtown area of Cary across from Aldi? Just an Idea. Oh mixed drinks can be better. Maybe not so many pre mixers? I still give them 5 stars. :)
Review Source:You want a good burger in Mchenry county, look no further.. Honestly, after watching the video on their website, I got out of my pajamas and drove over there just to try one of their burgers. Â 10oz, tasted like maybe 70/30 ground beef, and boy does that fat fill in flavor! Â The pretzel bun is probably 300 calories by itself, but I didn't care, this was burger heaven. Â I had the chuckwagon, which has chili and onion straws. Â The chili pretty much disintegrates the integrity of the bottom bun after the first bite, so if you order it plan on eating with a knife and fork. Â I recommend eating the homemade chips over the fries. Â I went on a friday night, and it sure does get crowded in there, so try to find a seat at the bar. Â Most burgers are in the $9 range, includes a small coleslaw
Review Source:Well the good news. It is in an old charming downtown. It has pretty good food and the service was good. The interior is nice with plenty of seating and a big patio for outside. The bad news is this place is way out in the boon docks so few Chicagoland people will ever see this place yet alone drive past it. There is very little parking and is too close to the metra. Nothing more to say about this place.
Review Source:Huge, delicious burgers. Huge, delicious onion rings. Not so huge, average margarita. Friendly attentive servers. Roomy beer garden in need of some plantings. Too tall and uncomfortable seating inside.
Summary : Really good food, but I'd only come here again on a day when I could sit outside because the indoor seating sucks. The burgers we had here were wonderful. If I were in the Cary area, I would certainly consider stopping again, IF I could sit outside.
This is a must visit spot! Though its way out in Cary, IL the food here is amazings.
I checked in at Tracks on saturday afternoon and luckily for me the special for the day was broasted chicken which was all you can eat. the portions were huge and kept coming. Another signature dish at Tracks were there ginormous burgers. i shared half of one with a friend and he took advantage of my all you can eat chicken. To give some example of the size of these burgers, one burger i saw being carefully escorted to a nearby table had to be at least 6 inches tall. Also, all domestic beers where $1.50 which blew my mind. Im considering taking a special metra trip back to Cary just to get my fill in! This Yelper gives Tracks 5 Stars.
I do not often give 5 stars but I have been going here for 20+ years and a few days ago was out again for 75 cent draft beer and wings (although I drank bourbon as usual).
In any case I arrived about 30 minutes after the rest of the party... There was only one table and some blokes were using it for their drinks while playing that lame ass golf game. The owner approached me and said "Come with me". Â We walked towards the game and he told the clowns to move their drinks and sat us. While we were there that night, we were never alone for more then 15 minutes all night - always one or tow servers clearing or re-filling drinks. My "Tracks" buddy asked "What's with the 5 star service?"
The food was fantastic - I ordered the wings (which are huge). I always get the hot sauce on the side because that ensures that the wings will always be crispy when they come to the table - I do this everywhere. I also asked to have the wings cooked a few minutes longer so that they were broasted like in terms of texture.
They were perfect and as usual so was the rest of the food.
Anytime this is the place to go but during the cold months there is no better place to fill your gut and have a few cold ones with good friends in a warm atmosphere!
I have been here a couple times. Â They serve some amazing burgers. Â Tonight I had the Greek Burger. Â They don't use frozen beef, you can tell it is fresh not frozen. Â
The front of the place is more like a bar and the back has extra seating. Â The only seating inside is hightop tables. Â There are flat screen TV's all over, so if you want to see any sporting event that might be on, you're in luck. Â The staff was very attentive and nice. Â I can't wait to go back.
A burger restaurant should know how to cook the meat per customer request. Â I asked for medium and it came out dry well done. Â Sure the portion is big, they have 20+ different types, the toppings are delicious, but if the meat isn't cooked to preference then forget about the rest. Â Please develop a better system to provide customers what they ask for. Â I'll come back here if I'm in the area again, just more cautious.
Review Source:Burgers. Corned Beef. Hot Wings. OH MY!
Tracks is a local haven that has served as a well deserved treat after a ridiculously tiresome commute from the city after work. It's located right off of the Cary Metra line, and has recession-busting drink specials and hefty portions at the same time.
This is by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. The patty has that melt-in-your-mouth-and-cooked-to-perfection greatness that is unlike any other. It also helps that there is a obscene amount of burger choices to experiment with, including one that is the sweet lovechild of a rueben and burger, piled high with corned beef, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing. Also, it's usually a toss up between their loaded chili or the hot wings for a starter. Both are spicy and equally unforgiving on the tummy, but it's oh, so worth it.
The only thing holding me back from a 5-star foodgasm is the service at times. I suggest cozying up to the bar to eat because it's where you will get the most attention. Oh, and I stress again...if I've left here feeling satisfyingly guilty, but totally accomplished, someone else will too...the portions are huge and you really get more than you pay for.
It's a local joint so we'll have to give it another shot because we think we went on an "off" Sunday afternoon. The staff was awesome and the apps were pretty good. As for the burgers...ehh, bland. Again, like I said, think we went on an off day because they were actually out of a lot of food...and were probably dealing with a lot of unhappy customers.
So, despite a not so great burger....everything else really makes us want to give them another try 'cuz you can't beat the atmosphere and AMAZING staff!!
Lets get one thing straight...Im a hater....I dislike most places I go into. I have been in the business my entire life, and I can usually pick out quite a few things I don't like about a place, and pretty fast. To say I am hard to please is an understatement.
That being said.
This place is great. The portions are large, and the food is great, not good great. I have no idea how large the burger I had actually was, but it had to be close to 12oz. The plate presentation was fantastic. Not an inch of open space on the plate. The build of the burger was massive, enough onion strings to create an entire side order from. It came out with a very appropriate ticket time and the server did a good job as well.
The bathroom was nice and was very clean, as was the rest of the place. The outdoor dining was not set up as it was to cold, but it looked very nice as well.
YOU SHOULD GO HERE
We've been fans of The Tracks in Cary for years.
With some restaurants they decline with age, not so with the Tracks.
It's regularly updated and improved. The prices remain very reasonable, the drinks are cheap, the atmosphere is party, especially on the weekends.
But the food is the story.
BEST BURGERS I've had in Chicago. That includes Cuma's corner.
About 20 choices but my fav is the Peppercorn burger. Throw some Giardianaras on and you are in heaven.
Other fantastic entrées; the shrimp dinner like 9 big butterfly shrimp (BIG) with the best horseradish cocktail sauce this side of new England. The Ahi Tuna Salad has huge slices of fabulous rare tuna for less than half the price of downtown Chitown. The broasted chicken - Saturday night special is amazingly crisp and flavorful, finally the Lemon Chicken is two meals in one. Cover it with balsamic vinaigrette and blue cheese crumbles and enjoy! Finally do'nt forget Friday Fish Fry. Also rated very highly!
Nice outdoor seating. Fun. Don't miss it!!
I've been here 1000 times and just realized I had never reviewed it...
Dude... You gotta go to this amazing gastro-pub, the food is ridiculous and monstrous. Â It's a small family-owned business and the owners kids all run the place & their staff is always very friendly. Â This is the social center of the town.
They have about 20 amazing burgers on the menu, but there are plenty of salads and other healthy options. Â Appetizers are out of this world.
Great drink specials, very reasonable prices (most burgers ar $7), tons of TV's, outdoor seating... Â Don't drive through Cary without stopping.
Note: My husband heavily weighted my review.
After a RIDONKULOUS mishap with a Thai delivery about two weeks ago, we found ourselves at Tracks...and starving. Upon being greeted by the sweetest, most upbeat server in the history of the world and checking out the unbelievable specials my husband turned to me and said, "Why don't we ever come here?!" Truthfully, it's because some doofus took the veggie burger off the menu. Why would I go to a burger place when I can't join in on the fun? But now that we've seen what Tracks has to offer (commendable burgers, jaw-dropping specials, and a party environment) I know we're going to be back a lot more often...
I know this is redundant, so I'll keep it short... but I feel so strongly about what I'm about to say, that I just had to post it, even if it's already been iterated by the other reviews.
GREAT BURGERS!!!
Also: friendly service, great outdoor patio, and beer specials that make me and my wallet smile! :)
We have come here several times and each time the food is fabulous. Â I highly recommend the cheese and pepperonni pizza sticks, Â the spinach and artichoke dip (garlic lovers only!) Â and the cheese balls for apps! Â All are equally great, and I have heard the tacos are good too!
My husband has tried several of their burgers all to be terrific. Â He liked the blue cheese burger better than the olive burger, but he said both very very good. Â
I had the seared ahi tuna burger and the fish and chips and I can't say enough about them. Â I highly recommend choosing the hommade potato chips instead of the regular fries, but the curly fires are good too! Â
You should arrive there before 5:30 pm or after 8:00 pm otherwise you will wait for a table. Â It is usually not to long of a wait, but they do get busy. Â The service is very impressive, there is a male server that is the best, its remarkable how fast he can make your drinks and still be nice and personable. Â
We came with a group of friends over the weekend and everyone was impressed and just loved the food! Â
Hands down one of the best bar and grills in the area!
This place was much better a couple of years ago... not sure what happened, but something did !!!!! The management must think that they are doing you favor to come in and eat there.... they need to realized customers are what pay the bills for them... the staff there thinks they are too good to serve people or take the orders... the owners kids run it now and they are RUDE !!!!The food has gotten smaller that's for sure.. one of the best things on the menu was the turkey club.. used to be huge, now JUST AVERAGE at best. If you want to be someone in Cary or are trying to be someone.... then go to this place. If you want good food and good service GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!!!!!!!
