I cant really give the best review based on the fact that I showed up in the middle of shift change. Â On another note the bar itself is very spacious and comfortable. Â There was all of 2 people in there not including myself and the three people I was with. Â I went on a Saturday night and to my surprise found out that The Trocadero has no type of entertainment. Â I had asked the gentleman tending bar why and then he explained it would be pointless since every other bar in that court provides entertainment on the weekends. Â Makes sense. Â So if you happen to be in that area on the weekend and you want to run from the crazy rave music, meat head dudes, sleezy drunk women, and the typical drunken scene I would recommend hitting up this lovely little joint.
Review Source:It feels like every time I go here I run into someone I have had sex with. I don't mean this as in "Hey, I'm a whore", but more as "Wow, Roseville is a small town, and there aren't that many places to hang out." So, everyone ends up at the Troc.
I like The Troc. It's unpretentious. It doesn't pretend to be something that it's not, whether that be a ghetto dance party, a chi chi "Vegas" style club, or whatever other gimmick is springing up in Old Roseville these days. The drinks are cheap, the staff is friendly, and the dance floor is guaranteed to make you feel better about yourself as a human being.
I used to say I hated Old Roseville, but The Trocadero is making me re-think that; or at the very least validating me as a human being. Which is acceptable too.
Nice place.
Swung by here with some co-workers on a Monday night. Just a few other people hangin' out.
They have shuffleboard which I appreciate, I love activities rather then just sitting around.
The bartender was real friendly and when I had to bounce early he let me exit the back door which was closer to where I parked.
Overall, nice place. They have some really comfy chairs on one side that are squishy and bouncy. (Hey, it's a dive bar, I can appreciate the seating!)
Attended a private party here recently and the bar was closed down to the public until later in the evening. Â The drinks were of an average tap selection but good ranging from Bud to microbrewed specialties and reasonably priced for great big glasses full of cold beer.
The place is clean! I always like that even though it's in the old part of Roseville and is considered a dive bar (by the Yelping Nation anyway).
Service was fast and friendly during and after private party which is always a plus. Â Parking was in the public lot located nearby and not a problem. Â Interesting location in the old part of Roseville around several other old establishments that looked inviting to try on another excursion.
Good bar for regulars of Old Town Roseville.
Pros: Classic and dive yet new and clean. Shuffleboard, jukebox some nights and live music others. cheap drinks served by quick and friendly bartenders and for those of you that know what it is, Fernet on tap.
Cons: It is hit or miss, it can be super crowded or dead.
Overall: One of the better bars in Old Town Roseville to add into your bar hop or Saturday night regimen.
I must admit I am befuddled as to how this place has ranked so highly. The standards for Roseville's nightlife must be fairly low or I went on a very bad off night. I went here at 11 on a Saturday and there were 7 other people (yes, I really did count). In addition, some of those patrons were inebriated, and not the kind of fun inebriated folk, more like the obnoxious kind. Then we had the 2 guy friends that fit what I believe the technical term to be "creepers." Perhaps this is not really my cup of tea which is why my friend and I had such a poor experience. But if you take your cup of tea with a little lemon and little more refinement like me, check out some other joint. The Boxing Donkey is nearby and a more pleasing atmosphere.
Review Source:Not really being a "club" guy the Trocedero, or "the troc" is my favorite example of such a place in the old roseville bar scene. All the bartenders know how to pour a drink and the enviorment is always one for good times and good drinks! When its a packed night, usually Friday or Saturday the place can get kind of cramped and where the bar is located to the floor it can be hard to get a drink on those crowded nights but that is to be expected, there is a back exit if you need some air or need a quiet place to re collect your thoughts, The bouncers are fair and when you get to know them are some of the nicest guys you will meet, just dont mess with them. The weekends usually have a DJ or if your lucky a really good 80's cover band, prices are reasonable and its just a great place to spend an evening with friends or to make some new ones.
Review Source:This is what a bar should be like. Amazing bartenders, great prices on drinks, and a divey yet modernish feel. Those looking for a fancy club atmosphere will not like it here. Those looking for a BAR will dig this place for sure.
I've met four of the night bartenders here (Pedro, Chad, Justin, J. Lou) and each one of them is awesome. They enjoy the hell out of their jobs and it shows. All of them are funny, friendly, and have SEVERE arthritis in their wrists that causes their hand to cramp while they pour drinks. It makes the bottle stay poured for excessive amounts of time. It really is a debilitating condition that they all handle extremely well.
The Troc is the perfect blend of booze, atmosphere, and fun. Best bartenders in the area, strong cheap drinks, and cool decor make this place the gem of Old Roseville.
I went to the Trac for the first time a couple of weeks ago and had a super time! The Roseville area does not have a whole lot to offer in the way of "nightlife"; however, this spot is a must-visit if you are going to try to have any fun in this area. The crowd seemed closer to my age, which I liked and there was beer pong... Well, not really. You had to play with water, but still made for a good time!
Review Source:Had a great time at this bar in Roseville! Good music bartenders are great and quick to take care of you along with all there staff from door guys to waitress. we where hungry one night and they ordered us a pizza gave them the money and they grabbed it for us!! It's always fun to visit the Troc!!
Review Source:Good Lord...Tool Central much?!
I got dragged here twice, and neither were pleasant experiences. First time? I wasn't feeling the overall vibe, and it didn't help that it took me for-freaking-ever for get a Bud (10 minutes?! Seriously) plus the DJ was bleh.
The second time? Didn't fare any better, and the crowd of people threw me way off...my poor friend got propositioned and I spent a good chunk of my time trying to help fend off the creepy dudes there. And again, why the need to change the song every 2 minutes or so? Let it run its course, not this constant garbage scratching!! If you're gonna do transitions like that, do it properly please....and not for show.
I'm sorry I tried...but no.
I think it's safe to say, as others have, that Roseville offers 2 bar experiences:
Corporate box suburban food bar, a la Chili's, etc...
Dive Bars: Troc, Sports Page, Onyx, etc
I far prefer the latter, and the Troc is the usual bet for the evening. The bartenders are quick, drink prices are reasonable, and they have a pretty good slate of live music. If you're down with the Roseville bar scene, this is a worthwhile stop.
