Nice restaurants upon entry.   Slow service to be seated and staff across the board seems lackluster.  Overall service experience - poor.  Ordered four entrees...Naked salad - good, Organic spinach salad - good, Caesar salad - poor, and Diablo pasta - fair.  Overall entree experience was fair but nothing that I will return for with so many other restaurant choices in the area.  Overall restaurant rating - fair.

This place was amazing!! I tried the Blackberry Splash & Black Splash cocktails and they were excellent! I also highly recommend the Naked Avocado salad. Service was very much on point and the patio was shaded and cool.

This place was great. We sat outside on the patio.Took advantage of their happy hour, and their food was so good. Creative but great flavor and not too pricy.

Met a friend for lunch and ordered the organic spinach and quinoa salad with salmon.  Salmon was very clean tasting, not overly fishy in smell or taste, just seemed like really good quality.  Service was a little slow, but not enough to take a star off.

    I'll be back!

Outstanding food and friendly, knowledgeable staff. The Latin Fire pizza is the best I've ever had save possibly Mellow Mushroom, but even that is a close call. Get the whole wheat crust! It's much healthier and has an incredible sweetness to it. It's extremely good and I'd love to see more places offer a whole wheat option. Also, the artichoke appetizer has a powerful blend of flavors. Extremely good. The sockeye looked incredible as well with very delicious thick tomato slices and exotic quinoa. Awesome place.

Perfect place for a girls happy hour! The black splash martini with balsamic is the perfect blend of fruit and alcohol! We started with off with the crab dip and nothing was left behind. Latin Fire Pizza, Seared Ahi Tuna Salad, Texas Pecan Fig Salad, Napa Chicken, and Spicy Garlic are all good choice!

The patio seating is perfect! I will definitely go back!

    Service= Wonderful
    Food = Tastless

Don't ever order the lasagna.. Way WAYYYY too much salt. The pizza was not very good either. The pepperoni/soppresata was flat disgusting. I dont really know how you can mess up either one of those, but truly they were not good at all.

For the long drive up north and the price, I'll pass.

Always good food every time I go here.  Sliders are amazing, drinks are great!  They close early so not really a late night spot but its in a great location and inside is nice and clean with  a great bar/restaurant feel.

I've been looking forward to checking this place out with all the Yelpers raving about this place, so I felt pretty lucky when there was plenty of seating available at 9pm on a Saturday night. The open kitchen had a real hearth with flames in sight which added a nice touch. Being in Frisco, we were the youngest patrons there, which made me feel kinda weird! No kids around, which is nice, but lots of olds.

I had the candied pecan and bleu cheese salad which was delicious. I added sockeye salmon to mine, which was just ok. I asked for the salmon to be super, super rare and it was so rare it was cold. I should have ordered it with the ahi tuna. I also had the sweet potato fries, which were just ok. They are better at Boiling Crab!!

My boyfriend had the rigatoni with sausage. It was just ok. The cheese didn't melt well and became a solid mass sitting on top of the pasta. I didn't think it was anything special. I want to try something different next time.

Service was good, ambiance was great, and the Andes mints were appreciated. I just wish the food was better.

OK.. TRUE GEM IN FRISCO! I don't usually venture out this far north in Frisco, but one of my girlfriends discovered this place. They have happy hour everyday!

The Blackberry Smash is a prefect blend of fruit and alcohol. I was skeptical about Black Splash (because it has balsamic vinegar) but it definitely excited my taste buds!

I had the Chicken Parmesan. Totally cleaned my plate and wished I could ask for seconds! Can't wait to go back!

This is one the best non-chain restaurants in Frisco. The food is fresh, creative and full of flavor. We had the avocado salad and the Latin pizza. The avocado salad was a mix of firm avocados, sweet tomatoes and crispy bacon, all surrounded with warm pita bread triangles. The Latin pizza had two sauces: a warm red diablo under the melted cheese that had a good kick and a creamy green poblano sauce that was more of a finishing touch. Both pair beautifully with the thinly sliced steak and fresh cilantro. Service was fast yet paced. This is a great place for and impromptu date or a night out with friends but is also a family friendly restaurant during the day with great kid approved items under $5.

This restaurant had been suggested to me several times by a coworker, but the hubby and I are sticklers of "we go where we know".  That being said, we finally decided to get out of the rut we were in and try this place that we'd been hearing rave reviews about for months.

We weren't able to book the table online for 8pm on a Friday (it said there was no availability), but a quick call to the restaurant provided an availability right at the time we wanted.

Upon arrival, we fought to find parking.  Not the restaurant's fault, it's just a crowded shopping center.  We only waited a minute or two to be seated.  The waiting area is tiny, as if it had been more of an afterthought, bit we were seated so quickly it didnt matter.  Within another two minutes, our server (Brandon) was already at our table walking us through the drink choices.  He then asked us what kind of dishes we were looking to order and provided some GREAT recommendations.  We got the sweet fries as the appetizer, which seems boring, but it was awesome!  With the lemon & Parmesan and dipping sauces, we couldn't stop eating them.  We followed that by splitting both the Latin Fire pizza and the TruMac.  We pushed to get through the dishes because they were just so good, but only made it about halfway.  Brandon did a great job of stopping by enough so that we felt taken care of without crossing that awkward line where it feels like they're trying to join you on your date.

Just when we thought we couldn't eat another bite, Brandon brought out their flourless chocolate cake topped with chocolate ice cream.  (Apparently they do something like this if it is your first visit there?). Now, I can usually pass on chocolate cake, but after a single bite I was hooked.  We gorged ourselves just a little more and it was so worth it!

I definitely recommend going and, if you do, ask for Brandon!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.  A great new discovery near Plano and the best part, they have happy hour EVERYDAY from 4-7pm!

My friends and I were off to a painting class and we needed a place to eat.  I wanted to try something different and new and after yelping a few places, this was on the top of my list.  Good thing we made a reservation because it filled up pretty quickly (we were here on a Saturday night at 5pm. . .guess everyone was there trying to get in for HH)

They have an awesome drink menu and we all tried something and shared.  The Blackberry Smash & Black Splash were amazing - thanks yelp friends for the recommendation!  Who would have thought balsamic vinegar would go well with the other flavors in the Black Splash?!?

Onto the food - I ordered "The Burger" with sweet potato fries. Sooo delicious! I tried some of the chicken burger and that was really good too.  Big portions with decent prices.

They also have a bar area for those of you who just want to have a drink or two (they also have tvs for you sports fans) I'll definitely be back to try other things on the menu.  This new restaurant is a HIT for me!

Just ok!  We show up for happy hour last Saturday (since their website says it is offered on Saturdays too) and the bartender says "it's Saturday...we don't have happy hour".  He ends up checking with a coworker and finds out they do in fact offer HH on Saturday...and it's printed on their menus, but sneaks away into the kitchen for the rest of our visit - thanks for the apology, by the way!

Nothing really special about this place - just your typical suburban place trying to be urban with a standard menu and tired decor.  We'll stick to the Shops at Legacy when we venture this far north.

So I think I'm in love with the atmosphere here as much as the food. The ambience is incredible, lights down low a very intimate setting.

First off, the chicken flatbread appetizer is so yum! I crave it over a burger and fries any day! The veggies that come with it are always so fresh and the pita bread so warm. I've eaten the pizzas here and the crust is so flavorful without being overly "bready". Try the sautéed spinach one!. I also tried the Trumac n cheese and it was ok. I feel like the cheese to noodle ratio was a bit off. They also have yummy caprese salads.

I love their drinks! Always great to go along with their food.

Whoa! My new favorite restaurant! I can't believe it took me this long to try TruFire! I can't recommend this restaurant more highly!

My husband, kids and I all loved every bite from beginning to end. First of all, the pizza is EXACTLY what I want when I want a pizza-thin crust, cheesy and smoky, and GOOD pepperoni...you know, the good stuff. You just know it when you taste it. We are usually "light sauce" customers, preferring not to taste or see the sauce much. TruFire's sauce was perfection in every way!

We also tried the chicken sandwich (a description which is nowhere close to the AMAZING FLAVORS of the dish), which we adored, with the fig, pear, pecan and bleu cheese salad. Yum! You've got to see how they put the bleu cheese on the salad! Genius.

Finally, we split an order of sweet potato fries with amazing aioli and ketchup sauces! These things were the real deal, like your mom is back in the kitchen cutting sweet potatoes by hand and frying them just for you!

All the ingredients were fresh, authentic and the highest quality. The service was perfect, our ten year old even noted how good (and honest, her words) our waiter was. He mentioned to his manager that this was our first visit to their restaurant and a few minutes later, and incredible flourless chocolate cake with chocolate brownie ice cream appeared at our table as a very kind "thank you!" Wow! I believe it was gluten-free as well.

A wonderful lunch, great  restaurant! We will be back...often!

I will be back to this place. There were several menu items I wanted to try but didn't have room for.

I had the Naked Avocado salad - because I'm trying to eat healthier - and because it isn't really a salad in the traditional sense. It was super yummy but then I would question any place that screwed up an avocado dish. My friends ordered meatball sliders, caprese salad, shrimp diablo pizza and the chicken sandwich. Everyone thought their food was delish! This was our first time and the place definitely made a good first impression.

The first thing listed on the lunch menu is hummus but I wouldn't classify this place as Mediterranean. Unless you want to go with Mediterranean fusion. It goes way beyond my idea of Mediterranean or Greek food.

It was a busy Sunday lunch crowd but we managed to get seated right away and our server was prompt. The food took a little while to arrive but it was worth the wait and our waiter thanked us for our patience. He was actually a terrific waiter. He was the right amount of chatty without being a pest and didn't come across as trying to sell us on everything. He clearly knew what he was doing.

We all left full and happy and excited to go back.

I had the garlic noodles and it was tasty. However the fettuccine noodles were so cut up I couldn't even twirl them with the fork. Just looked sloppy as they were the leftover noodles at the bottom of the box. I mentioned it to the server who said they shouldn't be like that and called the manager who confirmed it and asked if I wanted to get it replaced. I didn't want to make other people at the table wait for me so I declined the offer. I'm going to be honest to say that I expected some alternate customer service action to my declining of returning the plate but nothing was done. Disappointed? Yes. Would go back? Hmmmm...maybe...probably not anytime soon at least.

At first glance, the atmosphere looks perfect.  Dark, ambient, clean.  That is, until they seat you.  The tables are nice and large, which is great for pizzas and large pasta platters, but they are crammed way too close together.  I've heard the drinks and appetizers are the way to go here, perfect for a post-work happy hour.  However, if you are coming for dinner and staying for a comfortable meal, this isn't the place.  I should have listened to friends and tried the mac and cheese, but I didn't.  I'm a pizza guy and tried their three-cheese with pepperoni.  It was ok, borderline flavorless.  My wife got the open-faced lasagna, which was average.  Getting refills on water and tea were hard to come by and the prices were high.  I will give them another shot just to try some of the recommended items this time, but I'm hoping it will be worth it.

I fiiiiiinally got to experience TrueFire today after a long wait...YUMMO!!

I had the Mediterranean Shrimp Salad.....omgeeee I think I have another contender for my favorite salad. Fresh spinach leaves topped with feta, tomatoes, red onion, cucumber, orzo rice, shrimp, and a mustard dill vinaigrette dressing that is absolutely delicious! The order was ready in about 10 minutes (can't complain about that on yo' lunch break, huh??)

My one and only complaint is the lunch salad price and portion....a bit too big for my appetite and at $9.00 I can definitely find a more affordable lunch. But...it will be one of my guilty pleasures...I can already tell :)  I can't wait to go for dinner!

First visit to Tru Fire as we were looking for a change from our usual pizza spots. We did learn that they aren't necessarily pizza-centric here, but everything was good. The waitress greeted us promptly after sitting and took our drink order. She asked if this was our 1st time there. Yes, we replied. When she returned with drinks, she told us that we would be getting a hummus appetizer on the house since we were new patrons. Nice. And the hummus was tasty. I would also recommend the pecan and pear salad. Really enjoyable.
So, there are only 5 pizzas listed on the menu, with no indication that you can create your own. We asked for a slight modification without problem, though. We ordered the regular crust in lieu of the whole wheat option and it was fine. After reading some other reviews, I'm game to return and try one of their sandwiches or other salads.

Traveling from Austin for the day, we stopped for a light lunch before attending a private party. The service, food and attention to detail were all excellent. Casually elegant and friendly but professional service were much appreciated. Oh yes, the food was wonderful!
Our visits to the area are not often but when we return, we will certainly stop in TruFire again.

The other night was my first time to go to TruFire. I had heard great reviews so my family and I went and we had great service and wonderful food. The meatball slider appetizer is delicious! I enjoyed a roasted garlic chicken pizza and my husband had a burger. Everyone enjoyed their dinners. We will definately be returning soon :)

I really love this place, it is dark, cozy and comfortable.

The bar is great and love the food esp the Avocado Salad & I enjoy their Salmon.  The food has much improved over the years.

Love the fun infused type drinks.  I do wish they had a better weekly happy hour though

This was our second trip, and we weren't disappointed.  I had the ribeye sandwich (sans cheese and aoili).  It was flavored properly and adorned with rich caramelized onions.  The crusty french roll made for a beautifully textured dish.  The fries were crispy-thin (my favorite) and the ketchup was HOMEMADE, yes, delightful.  My husband had the pepperoni pizza, and declared it quite delicious.  I had a piece of the uncheesed crust and could agree on that point.

Gracious and friendly service, they kept the iced tea flowing.

We had heard great things about this restaurant, so we made reservations and drove 30 miles to try it out.  We were seated in the doorway going to the patio, so that every time someone went in or out, they had to squeeze around me, and it was so windy, we may as well have been sitting outside ourselves.

Because our reservations were fairly late, we ordered an appetizer right away after being seated.  It arrived after the main course, so we sent it back.

The food was mediocre at best.  We both ate about 1/3 of the serving.  My wife had asked for some bread.  It arrived as they were boxing up the remainder of the meal (which will probably be thrown out tomorrow).

The manager came to the table to apologize for the "mix ups" and covered the cost of the meal.  Personally, while I appreciate the gesture, I would much rather pay for a good experience than get a bad one for free.

We were both very disappointed and will never go back.

The artichoke appetizer was a little charred but still delicious.  The rosemary chicken pizza was unlike anything I have ever had, in a very good way.  Service wasn't great but wasn't horrible either.  Atmosphere on a Saturday night is very dark and loud, like a nightclub.  It was a nice change from the usual.

A great local non-chain restaurant. The managers were very helpful as I planned a group luncheon. We had dedicated servers to keep the libations and food flowing. All were friendly. The food was great and tasty. Location is quaint and next door to another top notch restaurant, so a good class of clientele. Family friendly. Good selection of wines.

Check them out, tell the manager/s Crazy Eagle sent you

Tried this place for the first time today with a friend for lunch. I had heard lots of good reviews from friends and clients, and also saw that they have a whole gluten free menu, which made me very happy as I have an intolerance to that stuff.

We showed up and stood by the host stand for a few minutes with no help and no host in sight. Finally flagged someone down and got a table. So not a great start as far as service, then continued with a very lack luster server. Maybe she was having a bad day..

The GF menu looked good, even had sandwiches! But when the server was explaining that to me she let me know that its a sandwich with no GF bread, basically just a pile of stuff. But whatever, I got the naked avocado salad with chicken on romaine. I got my salad without the chicken I requested, and asked her to bring me some. Somewhere in between ordering specifically GF food and confirming with her, she brought me chicken that must have been marinated in something, cause it made me sick. After conversation and confirmation! So that's a bummer. And I'm nauseous.

The 2 stars are for nice ambiance and the salad was good, except the chicken. Which was also dry on top of being non GF. I mean, if it's going to make me sick, it should at least be tasty!

I may give it one more shot, maybe. If someone else is having their birthday there. And I'm not eating..

    Dear Husband,

I'm sorry I came home with garlic breath, but the fire roasted artichoke app was irresistable. And then one of the girls ordered the hummus.  I was surprised, shocked even, how well that Blackberry Smash martini paired with both. It took all I had not to make those moany happy noises you know all so well.

Go ahead eat the leftover Caprese salad with chicken for lunch.  The marinated mozzarella is devine and I think you'll agree the tomatoes are the best you've had in a long time. There's not nearly enough basil, but we've got some growing on the patio so we'll be more than good.

See, I want you to take me back there for pizza or one of their pastas. Soon, real soon lover. You can do alll those things you've always dreamed of: like ordering extra chicken, sausage or tuna.

    Love ya,
TruFire's Newest Fan (aka Your Wife)

PS: You should have seen how mad your sister got when she saw how limited the wine by the glass menu was. She really likes the Cloudy Bay.  But not THAT much to get the whole bottle. I hope they fix that.

I had high hopes for the Trumac, the restaurant's signature adult Mac and cheese.
The sauce is more cheese than cream and butternut which combined with the vat of melted cheese on top tastes more like noodles and melted cheese than a flavorful sauce.
Service was okay, not bad but not the-above-average-service competing restaurants offer.
They do have a signature dish avocado salad (chopped avocado chunks with tomato and pita bread) which my sister likes.
Ambiance is dark wood and darkly lit, but does have patio seating.

Was treated to TruFire for my birthday.

We had the crab dip which I thought was good. My date had one of the pizzas which was ok and I also enjoyed my ribeye sandwich.

What I did NOT enjoy was the mac n cheese. It was really bland and uninspiring. I was highly disappointed as I'd read great reviews for it. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

The food was MUCH better than the service however. Our waitress had an attitude the ENTIRE night. She didn't crack a smile ONCE. I initially thought she had an issue serving black people (lol) but NOPE I observed her displaying that same foul funk with all her tables. Ugghhh someone fire this chick and put her out of her misery!

I was also dissapointed with the manager. They offer free chocolate cake for your birthday but I'm allergic to chocolate. I requested another dessert and was refused. It pissed me off because we'd spent 100 bux by the end of the night (we had a few drinks too). I mean REALLY, we just dropped a nice chunk of change...I can't get a banana split???

Which brings me to my last complaint: I thought it was a little pricey for what we got...
Overall, its a really cool vibe and the food is solid for the MOST part but I wouldnt return just because I felt somewhat slighted. We'd rather spend our c-notes in more customer oriented establishments.

Perfect for date night! The decor is warm and inviting. The hostess was very professional and greeted us warmly upon walking in. Everyone working the front of the restaurant was dressed like they were on hot date! I noticed the cougar action at the bar but I think that is to be expected. ;-)

Happy hour pricing on drinks before 7 pm were a great deal. The Blackberry Smash and strawberry margarita were delicious.

Don't miss the mac n' cheese! It is so good and portions are huge. The Mediterranean Shrimp salad was also full of fresh salad greens and savory grilled shrimp. I'm definitely coming back and on more casual nights ask for patio seating.

Interesting place, but after my trip I'd advise you to skip the food and just do apps and drinks. And whatever you do, DO NOT forget to order the mac & cheese. Wow...probably some of the best I've ever had. And that's saying a lot.

The appetizers blew our large lunch group away...very fresh and very tasty hummus, dips, fried things, etc. We even ordered a skillet of mac & cheese...which like I said before you MUST try.

The drink menu has wonderful fresh, muddled fruit cocktails and other fun drinks to try.

The main lunch courses were eh. I had the naked avocado salad with grilled chicken...and ehhh it was just ok. Nothing special here. My co-workers all tried sandwiches, pizzas and burgers....all of which got "ehhhs" as well.

So we all came to the conclusion to skip the actual food and just do drinks and apps.

And FYI it's a short walk to The Cupcakery....so why not have dessert over there?

We've been here 3 times now and always been really happy with the result.
I agree that the prices are a little high on the appetizers, but overall, its a reasonably priced menu with a lot of great options.

Their felafel and humus are both top notice and goes great with their warm soft flat bread.  Also, if you get a sandwich ($9 for Turkey Burger for example), you can get a salad instead of fries which is a nice option.

The pizzas ($13-15) can feed 2 and are great Italian style thin crust pizzas with proper crust.

The desserts are large, so share.  The banana split includes a bruleed banana which I am determined to figure out how to make.

Service is top notch and even remembered us from our last visit.
