Food ok, service terrible. Â Group of 8 came to watch specific game- was told manager was too busy to change TV. Â It was a Sunday afternoon. Â After waiting 15 minutes without viewing the game that we came to watch we asked to speak with manager. Â Waitress curtly told us manager was too busy to come talk to us. Â Ridiculous. Â The manager wouldn't come out of the kitchen to address the issues we were having, like he was scared. Â Horrible. Â Won't be back. You should avoid like the plague.
Review Source:I don't get the complaints either. Â It's a bar people - with bar food. Â Good bar food I might add. Â It's not fine dining, nor is it a night club.
Decent assortment of beers on tap, at reasonable prices. Â Love the volcano burger and sweet potato fries. Â Daughter loves their wings. Â Â It's a convenient place to drop in for a quick bite to eat and a beer, maybe catch a game on TV. Â Â We are in columbia often and we stop here a lot.
Not sure why everybody is complaining but as far as food goes, this is one of the best places I've tried. Definitely got the best burger I've ever had, here. It was cooked perfectly, not dried out, perfectly seasoned. They don't pile everything on in one massive, greasy heap but keep it all separate and let you put it together. Yes, the wait time is a little long but well worth it in my opinion. I appreciate that the wait staff doesn't hover like at some places. I've tried their chili.. found it awesome. Even took some home and had it for leftovers the next day, still tasted awesome. Their nachos are massive, definitely enough for 4 people as a meal. Really one of the best places I've tried in Columbia and with reasonable prices.
Review Source:On the recommendation by a friend, we stopped in here before Mizzou's first football game of the year to fuel up before the rest of the night.
The ambiance is awesome - I love how nice the staff is, the other visitors were friendly and every where you turned there was a tv within your view.
They have a great menu, if you can't find something to satisfy your craving then I'm not really sure where else you would go. Â I recommend that if you choose fries for your meal, pick the waffle fries - you won't be disappointed!
Only "issue" I have is with the people who come last minute to watch the game, get upset that they can't find an open table, and literally stand by a table to get you to leave. Â We had tickets to the game, we were leaving as soon as we paid our bill. Â Two patrons saw that and stood by the other 2 chairs at our table, literally staring at us. Â Please, you don't want people to do that to you, at least step away and then come over as you see us leaving. Â I understand that this is a popular place to watch the game, but I'd like to enjoy my visit as well. Â All was fine until that happened.
However I won't let the above issue bother me because everything else was great and I do know that we found a new stomping ground when in Columbia!
I've been here twice now, first review so sort of a two for one. Â Great prices, pretty good food. Â I like the place and will for sure be back. Â They were busy both times I was here but still they seemed short handed both times. Â Our waitress on this trip, Chloe was working her butt off and I tipped her accordingly but they had not enough staff and zero busing staff. Â Seriously, hire some people, management. Â This review is a positive endorsement but be prepared for some service challenges.
Review Source:I made a pit stop into Truman's on a Saturday evening around 5pm to satisfy a massive nacho craving of all things. I figured I would take advantage of their daily happy hour from 4-7 and get a deal of the matter.
For 7.35 I got a HUGE plate FULL of yellow corn chips, nacho cheese, jalapeno peppers, olives, grilled chicken chucks, diced tomato and onions. It also comes with a side of salsa and sour cream.
Now I will note that if your not one for the "cheesy" fake cheese sauce like you find at the ball park, then this on not for you as it comes heavy on the stuff. Its has no real cheese contained within it. As one who prefers the real deal, this concoction still works for me. It comes sans black beans as well which for me is what makes real nacho dishes more authentic.
I made it about 2/3 the way through the mass of crunch and color and that was it, the rest was boxed and brought home. Enough for 2 if not 3 people with big appetites.
Not quite what you would find at Addisons for several reasons but this one ranks up on my top 5 nacho dishes I have ever had to this point. Well worth what you pay for to say the least.
Eh.
$1.50 for a Blue Moon on tap, which was lovely.
But the service left a lot to be desired. The waitress was absent mostly, and when we paid our bills, she ran off without giving back change, and then tried to get out of giving back all the money. She still managed to give me back less than I was supposed to get, but at that point...it was just time to give up.
Plus, the bar was frigid. The AC was cranked so far down, it was a better option to go sit outside.
Good for a cheap drink, but not much else. There are far better bars in CoMo.
