Great hangover food! Some of my family and I walked here from our vacation beach house on a Sunday morning. Very cute place with outdoor seating and I think 1 or 2 small tables inside.
I got the bagel sandwich with bacon and ham which was delish.  I also tried the infamous waffles with nutella, whipped cream, and bananas. It was honestly the best waffle I've ever had. The coffee was oh so yummy too :)
Very inexpensive, great service, and beautiful scenery.

Got the lox & bagel. It was good. I ordered an Americano and had to ask for an extra shot because it tasted weak but they gladly gave it to me. Good coffee in this area is hard to find so I was pleased.

This coffeeshop opens early! Yippee! Walk FMBeach for sunrise, then wander to the Tuckaway for coffee & interesting (good!) bagel selections! The Greenpeace veggie choice is great; plain old bagel w/cc is well done, too. I've heard others rave over the wafels (I don't like sugar in the morning).

Outside has plenty of tables under nice shade trees. Inside is smallish, so I wouldn't recommend 12 people coming together to expect to sit together. But it's cozy so you could be very near each other!

Parking is tight in front but plenty of public parking a block away.

Back for our 2nd visit, had the "Sunrise" bagel sandwich - Excellent

We stumbled upon this place on our way to the beach. We split the Sunrise Bagel Sandwich and a Wafel with banana and whipped cream. I liked the idea of adding pepperjack cheese to the egg sandwich. It gave it a little bit of a kick.  The wafel was delicious and the whipped cream was definitely homemade.

We just moved to Fort Myers Beach and found The Tuckaway ....we've been back about 5 times since! First off the ambiance is fantastic - very quaint and cozy . We like to sit outside because it reminds us of some of our favorite Key West haunts . Second , the service is absolutely delightful ! The owner's son is very attentive and friendly, making sure we have everything we need. The other servers are just as pleasant! Third , the food is scrumptious ! The WAFEL is our new favorite indulgence ...try it with whipped cream and NUTELLA...mmmmmm ....it is so different from other waffles, and is actually the original Belgian waffle recipe . We've tried many of their bagel sandwiches and have always left satisfied and full .

Its safe to say The Tuckaway is our new favorite eatery on the island and we will be regulars here!

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. This place was close to the hotel we were staying at and the Yelp reviews were good.

The other half ordered scrambled eggs, a salmon bagel and a wafel. He always orders alot as he likes to have variety and in the case he doesn't like something, he will have another item to eat.  The scrambled eggs came out first and they were just scrambled eggs - no seasoning at all.  The bagel came out second and he did not care for it as he said that too did not have any flavor.

Our wafels came out last. We paid the $1.00 extra to have whipped cream and the whipped cream was the canned type. The wafels were hard as a rock and would have been even more inedible without the whipped cream.  No syrup was served so I asked for syrup and received a very small container of syrup for two wafels!

I do not recommend this place and would never go back! I absolutely do not understand the good reviews for this place.

Unique stop right on the main drag in Fort Myers beach. Friendly staff, great breakfast sandwiches, AMAZING WAFEL. Good coffee.

Tasha, who seemed to be one of the proprietors of this little cafe, was an absolute delight. The bagel sandwiches were also delicious.

That being said, close your computer, and get a wafel (not a waffle, a wafel). Do it. Now. Thank me later.

Cool little place.  I recommend coming for breakfast if you are looking for  unique little place for great smoothies, coffee and food.  I had a tasty strawberry smoothie and my husband and I split two menu items.  We had the liege Waffle and it was Great.  Very old recipe, sweet and heavy.  It's a very different type of waffle and is wonderful with their homemade whip cream and banana slices.  The best thing we had was hands down the steamed bagel (the sunrise on an everything bagel).  Hearty, flavorful, and moist!  A+... Great start to our day on the beach!

Stopped on the way out of town for the day.  Enjoyed a steamed bagel breakfast sandwich with sausage, cheeses and egg.  It was delicious!!  Kids got yogurt smoothies (yum!) and various other goodies.  Great ambiance and neat outside dining.  Worth the stop!!

The best Belgian waffel I've ever had. MMMM sooo good! Their bagel sandwiches are great too. My favorites are the McGregor for breakfast and Tasha's Secret for lunch. Free Wifi here, and the place is pet friendly.

I live in NYC but was recently in Fort Myers Beach for a family wedding and stopped in to The Tuckaway for lunch. I have to say without a doubt this is my favorite restaurant/cafe i've ever been to. If this was in NY i'd be there daily. The waffles, while not your traditional waffle and more of a desert than a meal, are absolutely mouth-watering! The steamed bagel sandwiches are completely satisfying and made with so much care and perfection that as soon as you finish one you'll be thinking about the next time you can sink your teeth into another. Very friendly, welcoming and knowledgable staff. I highly recommend this spot for anyone in the Southern US or anyone in flying distance for that matter! You won't be disappointed, I promise.

Horrible Soy Latte.  The owner didn't even clean the steam wand before making my drink.  She can benefit from some frothing lessons.

I asked for a recommendation and mentioned that I couldn't have ANY dairy.  Guess what was made for  me?!
A bagel sandwich that had THREE DIFFERENT CHEESES on it.

"The cheese is sliced really thin, so it should be fine."

    Brilliant.

Went here for iced coffee, it was really weak. Reminiscent of water.
Maybe I'll come back and try the sandwiches, but not for the coffee.

This personably decorated little cafe had a real European feel to it; the couple who runs it are hard-working and friendly. My sister and I had to return after tasting the steamed bagel sandwiches... there was a great variety and it is also vegetarian friendly. There is free Wi-Fi or you can pay to use their computers.

Finally, I have to recommend the Liege Waffles as hands-down the best waffles I've ever had in my entire life, especially with Nutella and whipped cream. The husband is from France and these are authentically delicious!!! The wife, Tasha, is originally a New Yorker and an artist, and we tried her homemade frozen Key Lime Pie and her Rum Cake and both were also fantastic. :)
