Stayed here on a whim, as I usuall stay at the Heathman in downtown Kirkland while visiting Washington. We were greeted by a wonderful employee, Danny, who waited for us while we checked in, and then made sure to show us the highlights of the hotel while taking us to our room. He explained each restaurant, showed us where other areas were and was very nice. The rooms are unbelievable, we travel monthly and this is by far the most luxurious of rooms we have stayed in. And no, we do not travel cheap or in anything even close to run down! Everything is extremely modern and they have literally thought of everything you may need in your room. Â The food is amazing. Each meal turned into our "best food ever" moment. The staff in all areas were friendly and attentive, everything was clean and very well kept. We were concerned about smoke as we are both extremely sensitive to it, but once you left the casino area it is completely gone! I wish we could give this more than 5 stars... We have decided if we ever decide to sell our house, we will just come live in this hotel! :)
Review Source:First of all, this isn't the Bellagio. Â In fact, this isn't Las Vegas. Â It's a suburb of Seattle, so you have to keep your expectations in check.
However, you can compare it to a Planet Hollywood in terms of style and quality. Â Beautifully decorated, nice big casino, lots of places to eat around the clock, and very clean.
This is my go-to place to party because parking is always free and easy to find, even on crazy busy days like Halloween or New Year's or a Super Bowl, the food in the restaurants is superb with lots of variety, decent prices, and great service, and it's a lot safer than Belltown or Capitol Hill or many of the other party places in Seattle. Â It's the little things they do to make it even better, like giving a hot towel after eating dinner-why doesn't every restaurant do this?
Furthermore there's almost always a free concert, band, or comedy show to watch, and even if there is a cover it's usually around $10 bucks. Â They also have free coffee and sodas, lots of good local beers on draft, a great wine selection, and the cocktails are very strong! Â
There is the cigarette smoke, but hell, it's a casino!! Â What do you expect? Â Even then, they keep the air pretty well circulated so it's not overwhelming.
The pool is amazing, and their spa is pricey, but well worth it. Â
I often come to this place to watch a free show, never have to worry about having to pay for and pray for parking, free coffee, great beer, delicious food, and a few rounds at the blackjack table, and I walk out without having to worry about getting mugged or my car getting broken into. Â Can't go wrong with Tulalip. Â
They're currently adding more stuff too so I can't wait to see what they have in store!
Nice casino, nice layout, but I had to stop coming because I inhaled too much smoke, ended up in the ER with slight diminished lung capacity. I have a heart condition and this was not good. Now I go to Snoqualmie and the slots in the no-smoking section are great. Wish Tulalip would put in a no-smoking section as well, then I would definitely return.
Review Source:I recently stayed at the hotel for my birthday. Room decor is very nice. When looking at the reviews I was excited to try the shower because people were raving about it. I was very disappointed. I couldn't get a steady temperature. It was either freezing cold or burn your skin off hot and would go back and forth between these two temperatures every few seconds. This was very unpleasant in the morning when waking up think he you are going to have the shower of your life. I had to keep jumping out of the way of the scalding water and never got a steady temperature. We must have gotten a faulty room because I see no other posts about this. I called to complain and they just said they would tell someone. For $300 not worth it. I live in marysville and thought it would be fun to stay somewhere and I'd rather of stayed home.
Review Source:This place seems to be going down hill. Â
Stayed again this past friday in a room that the AC did not work. So it was constantly 75 degrees in my room all night long. Could not get it to go down for nothing. I know how to work the ac in these rooms too as i have stayed here at least 10 times. Finally in the morning i took of the cover to the heating unit and it was nasty. Full of dirt and dust. Tried cleaning out the filer which seemed to help.
Stayed there also this past february in a Orca Suite. The jacuzi tub was gross. I started filling up the tub and there were hairs floating in the water. Drained it out and noticed the filer on the side of the tub was full of hair. Cleaned that out and it seemed to be better as well.
For being a premium resort, they sure do lack on the attention to detail. I am to the point where i probably wont stay here anymore. I dont feel i should have even paid the discounted rate i got on the room.
The resort gets five stars from me based on the bed alone. Soooo comfortable! The pool is nice, but rather small and only open until 11pm. However, that the pool is adults aged 21+ only from 9-11pm is a nice touch. The showers are beautiful and unique with three shower heads directed at different levels. There are four restaurants, but I have only tried the buffet. Not bad, but I've had better. The decor is local, tribal, and attractive. A couple suggestions... More television channels and ventilation in the bathroom. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Review Source:I keep thinking of when the next time it is when I am able to go back! I love the hotel... Not the casino. People are right that the casino is super smokey. I was pregnant when I came and I couldn't escape it, even when dining. It was horrible. But nothing can compare to the rooms and the SHOWERS! Â The best ever! Very comfortable room and loved being so close to the outlets.
Review Source:I recently realized that I never reviewed the Tulalip and have been meaning to do it when I happened to cop a last minute spot to the gold badge elite event. Perfect timing!
I have only been here twice. The first time was a couple of years ago for the dating anniversary with the hubby. We stayed at the hotel for one night. My review for the hotel would be 4 1/2 stars. The room was one of the nicest I have ever stayed in. Modern, beautifully decorated, awesome shower. The 1/2 star off was because there was no bath tub. After again having this experience at the Hard Rock in Vegas I suspect that casinos dont put tubs in many rooms cuz they don't want people hanging out in the tub instead of gambling.
I also got a pedicure on that trip. I had it the day we left, and before my appointment i went down to the casino floor to play a few slots, and came out about 90 bucks ahead, a few bucks more than the price of the pedi (sweet!). That was more than I had ever spent on a pedi (and thats still the most expensive pedi ive ever had), but it was very nice. They spent a long time on me, chair was comfy, very relaxing, really nice wait room. I have another fave pedi spot now, but up until recently it was the nicest I ever had.
At the elite event we went to see a stand up show. The event space wasn't great for stand up, but the show was very funny, and the bar prices seemed very reasonable (I had drink tickets so thats just what I remember from the menu).
For the food, I ate at the buffet both trips. I will disclaim that I am not much of a buffet fan, but I will say that among buffets this was not the best I have ever had. But at the elite event it seemed like the people around me were enjoying the seafood (which i don't like) and prime rib and so forth. I did have some awesome sugar free thai tea ice cream while i was there. Never had the restaurant food so can't comment on that.
For the casino, well, I'm not really much of a gambler. I did basically slots both trips, and I did come out even or ahead both times, so thats good. The smoke is pretty intense. I have become pretty sensitive to the smell of smoke since I quit four years ago, and it hits you when you first walk in. Now, as I get more drunk and the evening went on I got more used to, but dont know how responsible the liquor was for that.
Big shout out to the Tulalip peoples for taking super awesome care of me and my fellow yelpers at the EE!
I am not a huge gambler...I generally don't really even like casinos except for  the ones in Vegas, with that said Tulalip is decent. Its one of the biggest casinos in Washington and its very pretty. My boyfriend plays a lot of poker tourneys here and I've celebrated many birthdays here with friends...so I have had my share of fun.
They have a pretty nice and clean poker room. They have a gigantic selection of slot machines if your into slots. My boyfriend thinks the baccarat tables are rigged when it comes to dragon bonuses...fyi. They also have a nice selection of places to eat when your hungry and have saved up some comp points.
The only thing I really hate about Tulalip is you always end up smelling like an ashtray when you leave here, its freaking nasty. I feel like the smoke is permeated into the walls. Besides that, Tulalip is definitely one of the nicer casinos in Washington for sure.
Slots, smoke and showers. Those are my three S for Tulalip. I'll explain.
Slots: tons of slots to choose from. Most are of the penny variety and do bonuses and are for multiple lines. Gone are the days of simple slots and 1-3 lines. Personally I like playing quarter slots with a max bet of 3 (or $0.75) but I didn't see any quarter machines this time around. Penny, dollar, five dollar and up are readily available. I do feel like the slots here do a good job of "teasing" with small wins here and there to keep you interested and entertained. But... I prefer quarter slots.
Smoke: It hits you like a wall. It permeates your being with it's rotten stench and leaves you feeling violated. But... you should this is going to happen before you step foot inside the casino so don't whine about it... just move onto the third S.
Showers: having stayed here a few times I really like the rooms. They have decent TVs for when you just need to chill and unwind for a few minutes before hitting the club for some dancing or the poker tables for some donating. BUT... their showers are joygasmic. Three separate heads spraying water and three different levels. There is no escaping the water! The showers are so awesome! I would stay here again just for that.
Onto the non-S stuff... it gets to be crazy busy here. Waiting for tables, slots, drinks or food can become a full-time occupation some nights. Parking is sporadic and can require a hike that would be good preparation before you summit Mt Everest.
It's not the worst hotel/casino I've been to but it's not the best either. If you have good friends and some money to blow you can definitely have a good time here.
I'm a fan.
As good as it gets... Â This place is better than most nevada or monte carlo casinos in just about every way. Â Great games that actually pay out, nice staff that are very attentive, and an excellent hotel. Â The food in the Tulalip Bay and the Blackfish is as good as it gets... period. Â Next time you are there, look around at the top of the slot machines and notice how many "jackpot" signs are posted. Â When was the last time you saw that in a nevada casino! Â I wish I always won but that's not what casinos do but this place pays out more than anywhere else. Â Google it for yourself. Â
My advice: Â Book a room and have dinner and then enjoy the everything without drinking and driving. Â This place gets my vote.
Beautiful and spacious hotel rooms. Â Staff were very friendly. Â We ate at the hotel cafe and the food and service were excellent. Â The chicken caesar wrap at the take out counter was delicious. Â This place needs to improve on their chicken teriyaki rice bowl. Â Maybe get a Japanese chef.
Review Source:I'm writing this from a king sized bed in one of the amazing rooms. We live 5-10 minutes from the casino and enjoy eating and gambling here. Our rewards card earned us a discounted room so we decided to check it out. The room is amazing. It is very clean, comfortable and beautiful. We brought along our two young children who are also having a good time.
This morning we ordered breakfast to be brought to our room. It was delicious and well presented.
I'm very happy with our experience.
Wow, what a change - I used to hit TC on a regular basis several years ago and it really was the nicest, cleanest casino I have found in the PNW.
Went last night with friends for the first time in almost two years - walked in and thought I fell into an ash tray! I mean, it was like there was no ventilation at all - really sad because it was never like that before, they used to do a good job at flushing the smoke out.
Now it seems it's just another casino loaded with cigarette smoke. Bummer. I don't need to drive 45 minutes to breathe carcinogens, I can do that anywhere.
And another thing - hey Tulalip, this is not Vegas, how about a few $5 tables?
Just really disappointed all together - drink glasses seemed to have shrunk, but not the prices!
I will end this on a positive note - Cedars Cafe was pretty good and the prices were not bad, actually reasonable. Service was a tad slow, but still good.
This review is strictly for my casino experience @ Tulalip R & C.
I took my friend here to entertain her and oh boy what fun it was! It brought me back memories of going to Las Vegas for the first time ever and asking the cage lady when they closed (and yes, I was very serious when I asked her this!). Â It has been ages since I have gambled and I was instantaneously hooked on their nickle machine. I got naughty and lost a whopping $20. I almost cried.
Good thing my friend was there to keep me in line...otherwise I would've spent the whole $100.
Staff is very nice (although I would think they have to be since the casino is sucking all the $ out of their customers). They were very knowledgeable and friendly about their facility, parking, etc. They also gave us some freebies even if we didn't spend a whole lot of money. I might be back...maaaaybe.
My second time here to visit the casino and the buffet. Still not really impressed. We started with the buffet. Long line but moves fast enough that we only spent a half hour waiting. The food is standard to sub-standard. Â It is not to be compared with a four or five star hotel buffet. I've had much better at the Four Season's Biltmore in Santa Barbara, Mission Ranch in Carmel, Ca or the Fairmont's Sonoma Mission Inn. On the other hand, we didn't pay much money to partake. For some reason, the buffet was big on Chinese food and seafood. Perhaps because there were a lot of Asian people eating there.
As for the casino, it's ok. It is probably 50% penny slots which are really 25 or 50 cent minimums so they are really quarter or half dollar slots. But people still see them as penny slots.... Don't ask me to explain. Since it's a casino, it smells and looks like one. It is sweaty and smoky. I dropped about ten bucks in a couple machines and said 'that wasn't fun'. Maybe with a lot of booze, I might have felt luckier but I am just to practical to dump money in a hole.
Maybe next year.......
ps... Where are all the 'beautiful people?' They aren't here!
My 18 year old daughter and I stayed at the hotel Sunday night on their shop til you drop special. Â I've stayed here before and have not had a bad experience. Â I thought it would be nice for my kid, since she had just finished her finals, to stay and destress a little bit.
They started their excellent customer service about a week before our stay. Â I was looking online to see what time check in was and noticed that the room rate had drop. Â I contacted them and they happily lowered my rate. Â It ended up being nearly $70 in savings! Â Awesome. Â
With the special we each got a $50 outlet mall gift card and breakfast. Â With the room rate we got it ended up being a great value! Â I've seen a few reviews complaining about the price of the room -here's a tip - watch for their specials. Â This one was $189 for the room, I've stayed during a "the day is the price of the room special" last January so the room was $120 on 1/20 (a Friday night! you can't beat that) and my husband and I are staying in March on their cyber Monday room rate and it's under $100. Â So yes, it's expensive, but if you play your cards right (ahem) you can find a good deal.
When we checked in the clerk was so nice about making sure we were aware of everything that came with the special, the times breakfast was served. Â She asked if we needed her to make dinner reservations for us. Â She noticed my laptop and warned us that their wifi has been hinkey lately due to construction. Â
The lobby was decked out for Christmas, something that really impressed my daughter (she's a sucker for holidays).  When we got to our room it was clean and comfy.  2 queen beds and an awesome bathroom.  I swear the best thing about staying at the Tulalip Resort casino is the shower.  Pure awesomeness.  Each room has  a single serve Keurig.  We noticed when we arrived that there were only decaf k-cups in the carosel but at some point when we were out shopping housekeeping came in and replaced everything else so we came in from the cold to an assortment of teas and coffees.  Yes!
A couple hours after dinner at the Blackfish, we decided we were hungry for a little dessert/midnight snack. Â While room service was a little behind their quoted time they did call and let me know it would be a few extra minutes. Â Our server was really nice and set everything up for us. Â She also let us know they added a little extra ice cream to our dishes :)
We were both so comfortable sleeping (which I rarely am in a hotel) that we almost slept through breakfast. Â It was a much needed break for both of us.
Hotel rooms are excellent. Â The casino on the other hand needs some attention, cigarette butts all over the slot machine area, ashes on machines where you bet. Â I asked an employee to see if house keeping can whipe down, never say them.
Valet is fairly unporfessional, Friday and Sunday nights are known to be extreamly busy, but the staff is limited and seems to only want to chat with themselves.
My husband and I just stayed a night here for the USS Nimitz christmas party. Because of the party we received free valet. Â I was very impressed upon check in of how nice the lobby was and the staff was very courteous. We rented a King bed room for the night. It was gorgeous and clean and the bathroom was really nice! I wanted to stay forever (and told my husband that about 20 times, I hope he got the hint)...
We ate at the buffet breakfast and it was pretty darn tasty. When I think "buffet" I think "disgusting" Â This food is something you would pay for at any normal sit down restaurant. A lot of variety and as much as you want!
The next day we got 80min massages at the T Spa. It takes up most of the 2nd floor and is huge and has so m a n y amenities, I could spend the entire day there! It was a little pricey but you definitely get the luxury. There is plenty of staff and it is VERY clean. To top it all of my massage from Joel was FABULOUS.
I sincerely enjoyed every minute of my stay and can't believe there are people who say it needs "updating" ... That is not what I saw at all. This is one of the best resorts I've ever stayed at.
Tulalip shows lots of class, from the landscape and décor on the outside to the cleanliness with the interior. The service is great, from the valet to the customer service and hospitality.
We love the Sunday brunch buffet (don't forget your discount with the players reward) but Blackfish is ok (seafood frozen and not so fresh). The buffet offers a variety of flavors and is available at a great price.
Casino offers a great place to watch a football game, listen to music, dance, or check out an event.
The place is smoky but most casinos in the area allow players to smoke so that doesn't affect the rating. Still a great place to come as long as you understand what you are getting yourself into :)
The lunch buffet on weekends is about $13, which is pretty cheap. We weren't sure if they would kick is out between lunch and dinner, but then again, we didn't stay in there long.
There's a carving station (prime rib, ham, salmon) accompanying sides (mashed potatoes, roast veg), salad bar, extensive desserts (including a sundae bar and a milkshake counter), stir-fry station, and stand alone items (like pizza, pasta, fried chicken, onion rings). For Oktoberfest, there was meats cooked in beer, cabbage, German potato salad, pretzels and cheese.
Notably missing was sushi. A personal observation.
Upon entrance (where you pay) the slip had a tip line. I don't like tipping early, so I just drew in a a few bucks..which the cashier gave me to as cash. Then I showed the receipt to the person who led me to our table and then we met our actual server. It was weird being handed off so often and later, we learned that certain folks had certain duties (I asked the dishes-clearing person for more water. He brought my server to me who asked me if I wanted more water..um yeah, my glass is empty, so is my coffee..). It was kind of eh service despite having so many people around you and a dedicated server. I was underwhelmed. And thirsty.
The food was just ok. At the price, I was alright with picking through my food and eventually filling my belly. The winner of the entree was the pot roast. It was incredibly flavorful and pull-apart tender. The winner of the desserts was their ice cream bar (where a server will scoop for you) and the warm peanutbutter brownie.
Most of the slot machines were 1c slots, which is great for me, a wuss gambler. They had servers walking through occasionally for a drink order (that you pay for). Tons of machines, some progressive and some with $1 bets. We made the rounds until we felt like stopping.
Since this is all random, I can't say if their machines win or lose more, but I did come out more than doubling my money..so I left with good feels about this spot. :)
The restrooms were cleaned and located in convenient locations. Their parking lot is large and you can certainly park yourself if you don't want to do valet.
In all, it wasn't a bad way to spend the afternoon.
Seriously, I never knew places like this existed in Washington! I was very pleasantly surprised and would totally recommend this for a local getaway! My friend had her wedding here and I was very impressed by the staff, the food, and just the whole resort. It kind of felt like I was in Vegas!
The rooms are actually better than some of the rooms I've seen in Vegas. Omg and the BEDS! SOOO comfy. When I was here I was very busy helping the bride and her bridal party so I was always exhausted. Once I laid down on the bed... one word... HEAVEN. HELLO!
Oh how heavenly are the rooms! The beds are huge, offering plenty of pillows and comfy blankets. An ipod dock made for a great experience getting ready for dinner and a night of gambling fun.
The air conditioning configuration was great! Made for an extremely peaceful night sleep.
As for the casino, I felt as though the ventilation had been improved since my previous visits, because the level of smoke smell was dramatically less. There were a TON of drunk women stumbling around though, on this late Saturday nigh. So watch out for crazies.
If you're staying a night or two, don't miss out on the spa experience. It was such a treat!
We stayed here last night for our anniversary.. My husband surprise me with the suite room.... The room was pretty nice... it was big with the living room... they have awesome bathroom... they have the jet bath tub and the double cool showers.... they have cool coffee maker also and free waters botol.... the bed was comfy.... the service is also great.... all the room r non smoking so it was good and clean...
as for the casino... well.... Vegas is better, hahaha.... the slot was a little boring and it is very smoky.. and the sucky thing.. we got this deal for the hotel room where we got money to gamble voucher but when i want to redeem it they said i have to register as their member... it is free but i m from indonesia and only stayed for a night so no point to do it... so i can't use the voucher... thank goodness my mother in law is american.... so she can use it... hahahah
Girls night out at the Tulalip Resort & Casino. Â
First off, double queen suite $370-pricey
Second-"queen"-these beds are not queen beds-they are about 6" shorter width wise making them double beds (54"x75")-trust me we took pictures of my 5'4 (64") body laying across it-a standard queen bed measures 60"x80"-half of my upper body was falling off the bed. When I got home & laid across my queen bed only the portion of my head from my chin hung over. Â
Third-when my mom called to the front desk to speak w/ a manager she got the run around through 3 managers that "couldn't help her" & that "they didn't have the authority"-what is the point of a manager that has no authority? Besides the fact that they were incredibly rude. Â My mom finally got another manager's name to call & the offer for a credit for breakfast-no we didn't want breakfast-a whole $45 for 4 women-woohoo. Â
Fourth-After a week straight of calling this manager & leaving messages everyday, my mom still never received a return phone call. Â She called the casino directly (not through their crappy outsourced reservation number-trust me finding a number directly into the resort is like finding a needle in a haystack) and asked questions about the rooms without identifying herself-funny she got so many varied answers you'd think none of the staff have ever even seen one of their rooms.
Fifth-Still to this day-3 weeks later-no response from any of the managers. Â Nothing has been fixed, no money refunded ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
For the 2 good points: Â The showers are amazing & the rooms themselves are very comfortable. Â Our waitress in the Cedars Cafe-Lorraine (obviously memorable)-was fabulous. She was so incredibly kind & helpful-just a gem of a server-couldn't do enough. Â We were so incredibly satisfied after our dinner. Â I may go back to stay, in a king room, but considering the prices I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
I have been here many times and it is my favorite casino in Washington and Oregon! Â I have no idea why, but I always WIN money here!
The building is big and beautiful and they have my favorite games. Â The ventilation system seems to be better than other casinos because it's not as smokey here (and I hate the smoke!). Â The night club was a fun place to hang out, but there is a cover charge now so I won't go anymore. Â The staff is always friendly and I will come here every time I visit the area.
While I'm not a frequent visitor to casino's, I have been to several in Kansas City. Â My son, 22, had yet to experience one so we decided to try it out. Â
It's a reasonably small casino but clean and well layed out. Â The decor/art is beautiful and fits the area. Â
My son took $40 outta the cash machine and proceed to buy a drink, then put about $30 of it into 3-4 machines and ended up leaving 1 1/2 hrs later with his $40 back in his wallet! Â
Other than the smoke in the casino - great place, lots of people watching, the food lines were long on a Tuesday night so must be a decent buffet.
Steer clear, this place is shady!! Or at least take a minute to read the FILTERED reviews that clearly have been taken off to keep their image clean.
I had the unfortunate experience of visiting the TC last month with friends. We had easily spent $1000 in room charges, spa services, food, slot play etc. when our party was targeted by the casino. As a caucasian in the United States I've only experienced a few instances of racial profiling in my lifetime, but after visiting TC I know what it feels like.
One of the women in our group happened to accidentally knock over a water glass at another patron's table in the restaurant on her way back from the bathroom. Now, in ANY OTHER restaurant that claims to be "fine dining" in the US, the kitchen would have brought her a new plate and our sincere apology would have been the end of the incident. Not at TC! Not only did we sincerely apologize to the other table multiple times, but we insisted on paying for the "ruined" plate of food... to no avail. The 4 people at the other table and the staff at TC had already condemned us. I guess a group of well-dressed, highly educated, attractive females is considered a threat at TC.
The evening deteriorated from there, having been embarrassed by the staff in the restaurant and by staff in the "club", we were happy to take our party back to Seattle where we would no longer be discriminated against. At that point we were refused a refund of our room, the manager stating "WE CAN'T RE-RENT YOUR ROOM SO WE CAN'T GIVE YOU A REFUND". So we took down a few phone numbers, gathered our things quietly and left the premises.
The next day when I called back to TC to speak with a more senior manager, I found out from housekeeping AND the front desk that our room had IN FACT been re-rented that night! However, NOW the manager's story was because of the "incident" at the table, our money could not be refunded. Very convenient, TC. Not only that, but all of a sudden we are being accused of making "disparaging comments" and "spilling a second glass of water" at that other table... Excuse me? How does getting embarrassed by YOUR staff and getting heckled by the other table turn into our indiscretion? Only at the TC where their agenda is the only thing that matters.
Lastly, to add insult to injury, one of our party left her purse with $80 (which she had taken from the ATM just before the "incident") in the room in our haste to exit the casino. Housekeeping had found the clutch when they cleaned the room to be turned over, but mysteriously the $80 went missing. And again, this was blamed on our party.
Now, I have worked at TWO different casinos in the area (Skagit and Silver Reef while I was in college) and have seen many a drink spilled by patrons AND staff alike (ACCIDENTS HAPPEN!!) and NEVER did discrimination occur like that that took place at the TC. I would advise you to think twice before giving any of your money to this disreputable establishment.
RANDOM FACTS ABOUT THIS CASINO:
1. Three of my girlfriends have produced babies whilst staying a weekend at this hotel during their birthday parties.
2. My parents say they're going to a "friend's" house, but they actually come here.
3. I always win money.
4. I can spend hours here drinking shots after shots with my friends.
5. I run into old friends and acquaintances at the nightclub here. Kind of embarrassing.
i come visit WA every year or so- i end up at Tulalip at least 3-5x's every visit. my friends and family can't seem to stay away from here. =)
You know what's awesome about this place? Â Every time I've played here, I've won money. Â How can I not like that?
I recently got to check out their hotel and their restaurants, and I've gotta say, I was surprised with how fancy their hotels are. Â Their restaurants have very high quality food. Â Even their buffett is good! Â This is a step up from Downtown Vegas along with many California Indian casinos. While Snoqualmie might have a more interesting interior as far as a design asthetic, I think Tulalip is more inviting, with good entertainment (they have a very good cover band, Stripped, that play here regularly), a very posh spa, and good food options. Â Plus - I win everytime I come here. Â Again, how can I not like that?
This is absolutely the most "Vegas-like" of all the Indian casinos I've been to. Â The "new" casino (which I think is seven years old now) is well lit, inviting, has a zillion games, lots of table game, several bars and "mini" bars all over the darn place, and what must be a hell of a lunch buffet as we saw about 200 people lined up to get in.
About 45 minutes north of Seattle, but right along I-5, Tulalip is either a short jaunt or a hellacious commute, depending on the time of day and other factors that determine the crap shoot that is Seattle traffic. Â
Yeah, it can be a little smoky, but if you're going to casino gamble, you're going to deal with that anywhere else too.
Have to say, I don't understand over charging for booze in a casino. Â I get it if the law says they can't give it away like they do in Nevada, but $4.75 for a bottle of Pacifico certainly helped me decide if I needed another one.
The hotel next to the casino looks great from the outside and since it's pretty new, it's prolly pretty nice on the inside as well.
It's too far for us to make Tulalip a day trip, but if we were going to overnight up in the area somewhere, this would now be my first choice for a gambling spot.
All of the smoking aside, this place was super fun. With up and down reviews I was hesitant to pop in. But it was a Saturday night and it was 2am and I was wide awake. So why not?!
With plenty of parking (which is free) I pulled up to the front of an entrance and crossed my fingers that I'd have a good time. As someone who doesn't typically gamble, I thought I'd be willing to throw away $20-30 before leaving. But I had too much fun!
The space is really clean, the machines are bright and shiny, the staff was friendly and there were tons of options. Card tables, slots, you name it - there's a game for you. I played Blackjack for a little bit and wound up $60 ahead. Cool!
Then I wandered off to find a few machines to play and kept the winning streak up. Without crazy expectations, anyone could have a blast here. No I didn't walk out with $5000 but I did leave with more money than when I came in. What's not to love? Even if I'd lost the amount of money I was willing to spend, it would have been worth the trip. With tons of people watching and high energy, I was glad to have finally made a trip to Tulalip. I'll definitely be back!
