Yes, it is the old H.S. from long long ago. Â The inside has old wainscoting and lights. Comfortable seating. Super high ceiling. Â I've watched several programs here and never had a bad seat. Â Highlights were Diana Krall and David Sedaris. Â A bit out of the way, but if you are in the area and can stop for a nice evening, it is worth it. Â Smaller, less crowded, and intimate. Â Easy in and out. Â A nice backup to Wente Vineyards when they sell out (and Wente is usually more expensive).
Review Source:I've been to two events now. Â First was a John Fogerty concert and it was great! Â The sound was great, the ushers knew their stuff and it was an intimate venue, even from the back of the balcony. Â Second I saw a film made by a local filmaker. Â This time I sat down below and realized how large the place is. Â My only complaint is that the entertainment seems to be geared to an older crowd. Â I understand that they don't want an unruly crowd in the venue and I don't blame them. Â I wish the theater would bring in more music & comedy acts geared towards a slightly younger crowd such as the Bob Hope theater in Stockton. Â Acts like Chris Isaak, The Australian Pink Floyd Tribute, Morrissey, Willie Nelson, George Lopez, etc. Â I saw all of these in Stockton and the crowds were fine and the shows were sellouts.
Review Source:It's a high school turned concert venue. Â I kinda felt like we're on campus from the movie SCREAM. Â Sitting in your seat, you think you're there for a high school play or the local county beauty pageant. Â There is absolutely not much to do around here. On a Sunday, downtown didn't have much happening. Â But I came here to see the Los Lonely Boys and drove here from the Bay Area. Â It was a good, intimate venue...or maybe it was because I was on the floor.
