I got the lucky draw of a bartender, Heather, with no menu knowledge. Â "It's a new menu and I am still getting used to it, so I dunno.". Â I asked a question about one of the wing sauces on the menu. Â She promptly walked into the kitchen...I assumed it was to get the answer I was looking for. Â Alas, no. Â She barreled back out of the kitchen door and walked by me without a word. Â I guess it never dawned on her to ask someone in the kitchen for an answer to my question. Â My order also came out wrong. Â Epic fail on the service.
Added note: Â as I finished drafting this review, a guest next to me asked the bartender if they had WIFI service. Â The answer..."Uh, I dunno. Â I think so. Â I think it's public, but it may be private. Â I am not sure.". Â No offer or effort to find out for the guest.
My husband and I came here for a Yelp Elite event and definitely plan to come back. The shrimp tacos were really good, made like street tacos with the two small soft taco shells, and they had a bit of a kick also. The pork slider was awesome also. Plus, you have a view of the track from the inside and there is a balcony that overlooks the track. This would be an awesome place to watch a Nascar race - but you have to be a casino VIP to get those tickets - we asked!!! There are 49 tv's in this place - if you want to watch a sporting event then this would be the place. The drinks were also good and cheap and the bartender was nice, knowledgeable and efficient.
Review Source:Thanks to a Yelp Elite event, I got to taste a sampling of the food served at Turn2, along with the other restaurants at Hollywood Casino. Â Let's just say - they got my attention and left me wanting more. Â Turn2 served up the shrimp taco - soft shell full of goodness that gets you on the backside of the bite. Â Love the spiciness! Â My friend tried the pork slider and didn't talk to me while she was eating - does that tell you anything? Â Excited about going back to see and try their full menu.
Love the finishes in this bar - 49 TV's for you sports fans! Â Bartender was pretty cool too.
Extremely disappointed. We will never come here again. Where to begin...
We made reservations for a party of 20 at 6pm. A couple of days before the our reserved date, a manager called to inform us that they were cancelling our reservation, unless if we all could make it by 5pm. So we called everyone to let them know. When we started arriving at 4:45pm, we were informed that we wouldn't be seated until all 20 of us were there. Aggravating, but not unexpected, especially when we could see the entire 20-person table sitting empty and a waitress standing there, looking bored. About 12 of us had arrived by 5pm, but apparently that wasn't good enough for management. They still refused to seat us and said that they were going to split up the table and give it to other people. (What other people? There were other empty tables and nobody was waiting.) After about 18 of us were there, the manager stated that she would allow us to sit, but only because she was nice and generous.
They only had the single waitress for 20 of us. Service was extremely slow. Drink orders were sporadic and forgotten many times. I ordered 5 drinks and only received 2. The food was alright, but not worth the hassle. Also beware of the mandatory 20% service charge for the group.
We were there to celebrate and have a good time, but the attitude of management and staff and the horrible service ruined our evening.
I really enjoy their burgers made to order and the bartender on a different occasion was very knowledgable helping me pick a drink.
On the other hand, the waitresses are hit or miss. Â A couple times I felt I had good service, the most recent visit my waitress seemed to disappear when we needed something and why did the tables near us with a different waitress order and get food before us when they came later? Â Who knows, our lady just disappeared, she did bring the food but it did take awhile so don't be in a rush and you'll be happy.
Addition to prior review. Â Against my better wishes, tried it again last night. Â Ordered nachos, with ground beef. Â Nachos. Â Hard to screw up. Â Nope, not for Turn 2, Â The nachos were burned AND cold. Â Wow, how do you do that. Â Waitress dropped off the food, then obviously retired, as we did not see her again until a full 20 minutes later. Â Never again. Â If I could give negative stars I would.
Review Source:Ok, I will say I was a bit intimidated when I first saw the place as I didnt know what to expect, as it's located inside a casino. But the presentation of it is, it has 2 sets of escalators leading up to the front entrance. Also they've got a side elevator that also goes right up to the restaurant. So when I first walked in I thought great $$$$$. Much to my surprise exactly the opposite. It also overlooks a nascar track so if your into racing yet you want an impressive place to take people to without "braking the bank" ( get it brake -break. ok nm a comedian I'm not lol) OR even still you want an " classy sports bar" this place definately by far is the best I've ever seen accomplish that feat. at least 3 theatre type screens above the bar which is in a circular motion. also the booth's themselves have have in addition to normal style screens a mini screen in the booth with a channel changer and volume control. So yeah it certainly meets the criteria of sports bar. Ok, enough about building. So your anxious, FOOD FOOD tell about food right ? alright, here's why I give this place a 5. They offer a wide range of creative dishes such mozzerella eggrolls that have not just mozzerella but are mixed with basil & recotta chesse then sprinkled with fresh parm and served with a freshly made red sauce. But it was refreshing to say the least. so much so I had to take pics. Then there are options of enchelladas with a green chili bean stew, rice, guacamole/sour cream. Â All were thick with queso cheese. There was another dish option a BBQ pulled pork hotdog sandwich with a side items like chips ( yeah sounds no biggy ) yet they were made in house and yeah I know you're thinkin " uh huh twirl chips been there done that a blah NC staple not something exciting". My answer to that would be " on the contrary " because in fact they werent twirlly @ all matter of fact they were like freshly made " @Ruffle potato chips " but you could tell the difference between the bagged version and manually deepfried chips and craftsmanship in which it had. Â So if you don't like gambling go check this out as it's worth every penny spent.
