This place seems to be popular in the area, every time I've walked by it seams to be filled with people. This time I made it in. The first thing that catches your eye is the massive bar surrounded with taps. The bar is a big island in the middle of the dining area, the kitchen is open and the patio is huge. Its really a nice place.
My four stars are for everything aside from the food. The food seams to be average. You will get what you order and it will be enjoyable. It probably wont blow your mind unless you've been eating Taco Bell your whole life. I got the chicken avocado sandwich because I'm addicted to avocados. It reminded me or something I would get at a typical chain store. Grilled chicken, tomato and lettuce on a regular bun with some avocado. The shoe string fries were actually pretty awesome. My neighbor got the meatless boneless chicken bites or whatever and was pretty excited they tasted good for not being chicken. Overall my thoughts and the rest of the parties thoughts were "Good, satisfying, not mind blowing."
The staff was great, we were even in a hurry to make it to the craptacular comedy club upstairs so they worked well with us being in a rush. They did switch the checks but since we were friends and in a hurry we decided we would sort it out later. They really were concerned with correcting the tabs though.
I would really like to return to check out the bar and get some beers though. This place looks like it could do a sort of flying saucer type achievement. With all those taps I would like to at least be able to track my progress to completing my way around the circle!
My friend and I went to lunch here on a beautiful day. We ate outside and had a great time in the sunshine. Â We split the truffle fries to start since we were starving. Â They were delicious and had the perfect truffl-y flavor going on. Â I am a sucker for it! Â For our main meal we split the lunch portions of both the roast beef dip sandwich and the truffle mac and cheese (duh!). Â Both were incredibly yummy. The mac and cheese about blew my mind. Â The cheese, chicken, bacon, mushrooms, and truffle oil just worked wonders on my palate. Â Probably a good thing I only had a lunch portion in front of me. Â That stuff could be dangerous, in the best, most yummy way. Â As for drinks, he had a few blue moons and I settled on a Sam Adams cherry wheat. It was stellar and totally summery. Â I hope I can find it somewhere else because I want another glass. Â Only downside, and it's minor because the weather and day was so nice, was the service. Â While we were seated quickly, I had to remind the server twice to place my beer order. Â That shouldn't be necessary, no matter how many tables and children there are to deal with. Â Other than that though, solid showing Yard House!
