I really love this place, and it is quickly becoming my favorite place in the Claremont village--a place I am at nearly every weekend. I've had multiple offerings on the menu, and 90% were amazing. The other 10% were good, but I am a huge foodie and they just didn't cut it (mainly the pizza of the day offerings)

My favorites here are the Mason Jar (seriously heaven), and the Bianca pizza. You can't go wrong with either. Their drinks are also amazing, and really unique. I love that water is served in bottles free of charge (because Claremont tap water is disgusting) and the ambience is hip. The menus come in record sleeves and the staff is always friendly. The aviation salad is also really delicious (the lettuce is slightly grilled, which may sound weird, but trust me it is great) and the cheese platter is always impressive. I'm eager to keep going and try more!

The outside patio is large and even has bocce ball, and the bar is nicely separated from the dining area, so the flow was thought out nicely. It is pretty expensive, so be aware. But you do get what you pay for!

This place has a really great atmosphere and great service! The food is ok. I think that everytime I go I end up ordering the wrong thing. My friend's food is usually always tastier than what I order. All the dessert is delicious! I am determined to find a dish I absolutely love. I recommend to at least try this place!

Bianca pizza is amazingly rich! Love the outside seating and drinks. Some plates are a little too small for my liking, especially for the price, but still will return. Roasted chicken with Brussels sprouts-- I dream about it.

i brought my family here as soon as they landed at ONT. my kids (4 & 6) were exhausted, crabby, and hungry. my husband and i wanted to eat and reconnect, maybe over a cocktail. i knew the casual vibe and good food were a perfect choice.

our server was amanda and she was FANTASTIC. my kids fell apart right away -- whining and crying and even shrieking a few times. amanda not only maintained her calm, she actually helped. she found us a table better suited to the kids' moods (which also meant moving outside, to the relief of many indoor patrons no doubt). she brought them delicious cold juice, showed them the apples growing around the patio, and helped them find a yummy cheesy pizza "without those icky green bits" (thyme). she managed all of this while still helping me & my guy choose cocktails (i *highly* recommend the french 75) and food, and not treating us like pains-in-the-a**.

the food was good and the ambiance lovely, and i'd return for those things alone. but amanda really made this visit top-notch.

My wife and I have gone to Union on Yale a couple times before and had such a bad experience, (service) vowed to never return. However she, (being more forgiving than I) convinced me last week to meet her there for lunch to give it one more shot and I must say that I'm very glad that I did. Our waitress Amanda was very helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and man what a salesmen/woman! Myself being a bourbon drinker she suggested the "slap and tickle" which was awesome! My wife had the French Pinot by the glass, not sure exactly what it was but it was quite nice and I must say the wine list was quite impressive. She recommended we start off with the mason jar, A+ for that, and for our main course suggested the garlic chicken which I had and my wife had the steak with green beans. All the dishes were excellent!!! I wouldn't consider myself a difficult patron however I do have certain expectations when it comes to dinning out and Amanda went above and beyond to meet those expectations, bravo Union you managed to change my opinion and I plan on returning regularly!

Discovered this place while doing the Claremont Beer walk - Great "Dirty Martinis" at this place, very friendly staff. Great little watering hole.

My second visit to this pleasant cafe in "the Village" proved to be a great experience was a wonderfully warm California eve, and the patio seating was perfect.
prompt service and pleasant staff made it all the better.
i had the Halibut with cous cous and spinach , my date had Flat iron steak and he said it was the best!
somewhat pricey for the area, the bill was roughly 85.00 with out alcohol.
my date had 2 drinks and it made him all the more better!
my only dislike here are A. Dogs, B. Children C. eating on dirt.
the last time i was here I thought it was a Zen Garden, however I realized its a Baci bowling alley in sand.
this is a great date place, after dinner you can walk to the movies or have ice cream

My husband and I were looking for a place to have a late dinner after an appointment in Claremont. He had been in before, but only for drinks. I am familiar with the neighborhood, but had only ever driven by. So, we thought it would be a perfect time to give it a a try. We parked and headed straight in at about 8:20pm. The hostess welcomed us, but then quickly informed us that not only was the kitchen closing in 10 minutes, but they were only serving a limited menu. We both found this mildly frustrating, but seeing it was late on a weekday, we were more understanding. We assured her we could choose off the small menu quickly, so we were sat outside. It was a perfect night out so we chose the patio. Only one other table was seated outside. I loved the glow of the lights, the sort-of mid-century feel to the place, and the bocce ball court in the middle of it all. I could see this place being a lot of fun on a busy weekend night.

Our server soon approached us and poured some house water. He was friendly, yet quick. We started with a cocktail and a Mexican coke. I appreciated the cocktail list and it's nod to classic cocktails. Soon, our mason jar with roasted cherry tomatoes, fresh burrata cheese, and basil oil arrived. We gobbled it down quickly and agreed it was quite tasty. Tiny little heirloom tomatoes made was to silky burrata and pungent basil oil- once slathered on warm bread made for a perfect start. The small menu was mostly pizza, which worked out because we both felt in the mood for pizza. We split the Pickled Pepper and Union pizzas. They arrived quickly and were piping hot and fresh. We loved the authentic taste of the crisp wood-fired crust. After we ate almost each entire pizza, we were too full to even consider dessert. Our check came and we both agreed it was a very reasonably priced dinner.

I can see areas where UOY can stand to improve. I wish the full menu had been made available, but we genuinely enjoyed our dinners. I am very curious to return at a busier time to the full menu. But, UOY has my attention.

These guys know their stuff. My husband took me to Union on Yale for an amazing birthday dinner. The only other time I had eaten here was a fixed menu for Valentine's Day dinner. That was fantastic, but seeing as it wasn't their regular menu I didn't feel like reviewing them on Yelp for that dinner seemed fair. So we knew we wanted to come back and try their regular menu (which, by the way, comes to you in a record sleeve. Clever.)

First off, we sat outside on the patio. Great idea. The lights are romantic and the heaters are warm. Great place to start off with a drink, which we did. No rushing.

Next, the food. While the place has ambiance galore, the real star is the menu. We tried a little of everything. Grilled Wedge salad (as unique as it sounds. Very interesting flavors. Enjoyed this a lot.). Bianca pizza with the amazing truffle cheese that melts in your mouth (because you can't really come here without testing out the thin crust pizzas they're known for). The Lil' Burgers (the beef was so good and the sun-dried tomato was a great touch). Seasonal veggies (farm fresh broccoli that was deep fried and sauced to perfection). For dessert we chose a cheesecake sort of custard. Also good, but I think I prefer a cooked through cheesecake better.

All in all it was a really memorable dinner under the stars. The decor of this place is really cool, it's location is even cooler (downtown Claremont), and the food is mouth watering. Can't wait to go back.

Today I had the corned beef sandwich which was fairly good. Stacked high with flavorful meat, cabbage and apple slaw, the sandwich filled me up and the roll it was served on was excellent. But for $12, I didn't feel that satisfied - especially after recently eating at some killer sandwich places in the Bay Area.

I also had a couple of stout beers which were good. But $8 for less than a pint? Eh.

I guess in the end the tatted up bartender just didn't have a friendly vibe which turned me off. I came in and the bartender wasn't there when I sat down. Fortunately a friendly and cute server (tall, lean and blonde) asked if I had been helped. When I replied she went to get the bartender. When he showed up, he gave off vibe like I interrupted him or something. Sorry bro.

The interior and the overall design of the place was awesome though. I really like the mid-century modern thing and they had airport chairs in the middle of the lounge. I could see this place being fairly fun to hang out and have some drinks in the evening.

I'd come back but maybe I'd try something else and sit outside.

Our first review goes to you UOY:

We've been considering trying this place out for awhile and finally did.
First impression: we walked in to the outdoor seating area and asked a waitress if we could take a seat anywhere, she said yes. A few minutes later the "hostess who lost her mostess" came over and rudely told us that they have a seating system and we need to check in before sitting down next time. Wow...

So here comes the food review: we split the butternut squash salad and it was freaking amazing!! I wish they gave you a bit more however, small portion but worth every penny. We also ordered the margarita pizza and a rather pricey steak dish. Both were fantastic!! Truly delicious food and great beer selection as well.

Three stars because customer service was extremely lacking. It's so sad because this is some of the best food we have ever had. Will we go back? Yes. I'm still dreaming of that pizza :)

I had read about this place in AAA's magazine and had heard of it from friends so I thought to check it out. The atmosphere is nice and almost relaxing, especially so with the bocce ball court out front. Unfortunately, that's about the all I can list regarding the good things about this place.

The staff greeted us pretty quickly after we walked in and seemed friendly but other than getting us our drinks and later our food we really never saw our waitress. The food is presented beautifully but they don't give you very much for the price you pay - I ordered an entree plus a side for something like $15 and I was still hungry afterwards, which is odd considering that this is a college village.

I definitely agree with whoever said that they have too few servers for the space. A few more servers & staff would definitely help the customer service issues and improve the perceived quality of the restaurant. Now if only they could work on their prices (or their portions)...

So kudos to the owners of Union--they invited me back to try again. We had the Monday Supper, which goes for $28/person plus $18/person if you want a wine pairing. The appetizers were seriously amazing. Prosciutto Riserva with Burrata, Heirloom tomatoes on Fett'Unta with a 2008 Castelcerino from Italy. Not overpowering, and perfect for a warm afternoon. The entree was Crispy Skin Pork belly with Roasted Cherries, Ramps and Olive oil potatoes with a 2010 Fausse Piste Syrah. The pork belly was much better than my last visit--very crispy and tender in the middle. The Ramps and Potatoes were not that great, lacking flavor and they just did not satisfy. But the desert saved the day. It was a Chocolate and Pistachio semifreddo, and was amazing. Creamy and just chilled enough so it didn't melt away on the plate. Yes, I would come back--for the pizza, the wine, and atmosphere. By the way, the service was outstanding, quick, and friendly. I think for the price, the Supper would be a good deal if the side dishes were more substantial and flavorful.

Suprised at the middle of the road rating for this place. W've been here a couple of times and the service, food and cocktails have been really good - the outdoor seating area has a lovely ambience, great for a summers night.

The "mason jar" appetizer with burrata and persimmons is amazing and my fave thing there. Recommended for something a little different in Claremont.

Ate here with the man and the bear...We had the Bubble and Squeak (vegie version of eggs benedict) and the Lodge Cake for brunch...absolutely delicious on both counts. The food combined with the spicy Bloody Mary, the pleasant wait staff and the decor, it made for a very lovely Sunday. We will definitely be back!

As someone else said, I really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere is wonderful and The Village has been so much in need of more good restaurants. Unfortunately, I just wasn't bowled over. But for a terrible encounter with our waitress, there wasn't any one thing that was particularly bad, it was more just an accumulation of not-quite-rights that added up to what was ultimately a disappointing evening. Doubly so as this was Mothers Day Eve and I was taking mom out for the occasion.

The food was nicely prepared, but under seasoned to the point of being bland. My scallops were perfect but the rest of the dish had very little flavor. And I have no understanding of why they slapped that pale blob of pork belly on the plate. Any flavor had long been boiled away. It was truly disgusting. My mom's pasta and shrimp was even more bland, though the shrimp were very good.

The service was equally bland. Up until the very end, our waitress Anjelica, was pleasant enough, but clearly not a salesperson. She can ably bring you what you specifically ask for, but don't expect her to make you really want something. She read the specials from a sheet of paper without any effort to make us want them. She also didn't know how to time our courses properly. Before we had even finished our salad, our meals were plunked down. Both of us were put off by this as it just felt overly rushed. This isn't a diner, for Pete's sake!

But what completely ruined the evening was this: When we first sat down we told Anjelica that we had just had a cocktail so didn't want anything right away but would want wine later. I assumed she knew that meant with dinner. Or maybe a bit before. It wasn't until she was clearing our dinner plates that she got around to asking us if we wanted wine. Huh? I pointed out that we had hoped to have wine WITH our dinner. It was absolutely shocking how quickly her demeanor changed. She went from friendly to Ice Queen in an instant. Her snippy response to my comment was this: You could have asked. And she walked away. Our jaws literally dropped! My mom said, Wow, where's Gordon Ramsay when you need him?! As someone who waited tables for more years than I care to divulge, I was absolutely stunned that someone in a restaurant like that could be so utterly unprofessional.

But for the service, we may have given Union on Yale one more chance. We certainly won't now.

As for you, Anjelica, here's a tip: in our working lives we sometimes encounter clients/customers/bosses who aren't always happy with our performance. Sometimes justified, sometimes not. What separates the winners from the losers is how we respond in those situations.

This place is okay. They have records for the menus so that is sort of cool. The appetizers are ridiculously small and I agree with other comments that the wait staff has too many tables to wait on, thus meaning they cannot provide good service. I may go back if someone insists but i don't think I will be voluntarily spending my hard earned money here. Money is too hard to come by to waste it at places that charge this much and then do not have all of what you are looking for.

Also, it smelled a bit weird when first entering the restaurant.

Yay! I am truly a fan of Union on Yale. My BF and I went here this past Saturday. I was going to put this lenghty, detailed review. But instead, I will put what my boyfriend said when he and I were texting about this place a little while ago. It sums up our experience perfectly.

Me: Did you know that the owners of Union on Yale own the Back Abbey too?

Him: I did not know that, makes sense, with the beers and the wine anyways, but totally different atmospheres, both great in their own way, best of both worlds kinda thing. Well done owners, well done.....

So anyway, we loved the food, loved the beers, ESPECIALLY loved the atmosphere with the bocce ball, and outdoor dining set up.

Not quite sure why there's a 3 1/2 star rating, definetly worth at least 4. We regularly frequent downtown Claremont, and this will definetly be one of our new spots. I can't wait to come back.

First off, I really like the atmosphere here. The majority of the places in the Claremont Village have a rustic, older vibe to them while Union on Yale is very retro with an Italian touch to it. Very nicely done and it stands out amongst the other restaurants.

As for the food, that's quite good too. The food is fresh and flavorful and the drinks are good as well.

Unless there's hardly anyone there at the bar, the outside patio is definitely the place to sit at. The bocce court is a really nice touch too.

There are a lot of good food options at the Claremont Village but Union on Yale is unique enough to stand out.

I really wanted to like this place and gave it two tries..
Service - nice wait staff but clearly not enough if you want good service - I saw customers get up and leave without being greeted by their waiter - as it was for me I had 2 minutes left before I was going to walk out.
The food - steak had a really good taste but was not cooked medium rare as was requested but a solid medium so it was kinda ruined at that point. The fries were cooked to extra crispy and worth the wait.
On the previous trip I had the scallops black eyed peas with pork.. All was good but ruined by the 5 pieces of sand I crunched on.
Overall unless you like to wait for service - why bother.

Let me complain...Nope not gonna happen!! Love Union, live for it. Mason Jar will orbit you beyond! The cocktails are exquisite. Love the mixologists. Sit at the bar because it feels sexy and luxurious! Gus, Mike and the queen Nicole will make you feel like a star. Dining outside feels great too, like you're on vacay. If you're not happy about the service at your table, mention it, don't be mean, staff will accommodate you. When you go, tell them I sent you..boooyah!!

Ate here on Sunday for lunch, but all they had is brunch- selection was just so-so. I had the carnivore omelet, decent taste but a little skimpy, was definitely still hungry. I tried the wife's French toast, it was pretty good. Also had some biscuits, the brown sugar butter they came with was the best thing. Sitting outside was nice ambiance. All in all, a good experience but not overly memorable.

Easily one of the most creative menus in Claremont. Their pizzas are bursting with flavors, Sunday brunches are great and the drinks are one of the best. I have been here so many times and have eaten almost everything on their menu; the only thing I was not impressed by was the fried chicken, maybe because there was so much hype surrounding it. But don't let my opinion deter you from getting it, it may very well be the best fried chicken you have ever had. I usually have a cocktail before diner and I just ask the bartender for his special and have never been disappointed. Service has greatly improved, not to say it is not slow at times still. However, they have seemed to keep a regular staff...low turnover really can improve the quality of service.

I've only been here for lunch. The service was fine but the spacing was a little uncomfortable - 4 adults at a 4 person table wasn't enough comfortable room. 2 tall males but no over-sized people so i shouldn't have felt cramped.

The food is good for the price. I haven't gotten around to trying the pizza because I like Pizza places for that. The decor is retro and the menu has a large selection which is nice.

I'd definitely go back but I don't know that i'd be a regular here.

This place is solid 3. It's good. If I'd had more room or stand out service it would be an easy 4 or 5 but nothing here has ever stood out to me.

Union on Yale took over the long time florist shop on Yale to open a diner for somewhat needed nostalgic casual dining. We were in the area of the Village of Claremont when we decided to pop in for a Sunday brunch...

The decor is a retro 60's post Frank Lloyd Wright modern, with multicolor lamp shades http://www.yelp.com/biz_…, conic aluminum wall sconces, and LP menus and album covers adorning the wall shelves opposite the Jack and Jill basin towards the rear. The walls were a mustard yellow color, the ceiling above the pizza oven http://www.yelp.com/biz_… was orange, so my eyes were scanning around and sure enough -- avocado green seat cushions in the front. The outside alfresco dining patio has a nice firepit too that I bet is terrific at sunset...

We opened with a housemade red Sangria and a Mimosa http://www.yelp.com/biz_…, what else? The mimosa was fine, the sparkling wine was bubbly. The sangria was immature, it tasted mostly of red wine with some sour citrus slices placed in the wine glass on the rocks; there wasn't enough infused fruit taste, I could tell because I was only a little over 12 hours or so removed from a delightful glass of sangria that I had at Samba...

We learned something new when we ordered the Frenchman Omelette http://www.yelp.com/biz_…; aside from the technique, the main difference between a French omelette and a regular omelette is two folds instead of one, at least that's how they differentiate them here. I would have to admit that because of this, the fresh goat cheese was better melted and evenly dispersed within the fluffy herb encrusted egg batter encrusting it. Even so, the omelette was superlight and paired well with the lightly dressed side salad accompanying it...

The other item that caught our eye on the menu was the Union Breakfast Pizza consisting of four eggs (scrambled), Italian sausage, summer squash, bacon, roasted peppers, and Fontal cheese http://www.yelp.com/biz_…. Sort of a frittata on a Neapolitan thin crust, we were wondering to ourselves how they were able to pull this off. Our best guess is that they indeed place a thin set frittata on a nascent pizza crust just starting to set after 30 seconds or so in the wood fired oven before completing it the rest of the way, but all of this is pure speculation on our part. The result was indeed a thin crust pizza with egg instead of tomato sauce; it was different, that's why we chose it, but all of the other ingredients were not so very different and we thought that it worked...

We had few expectations when we arrived, but we left feeling full and satisfied...

Fresh local ingredients meets a super-eclectic menu with some delicious pizza to boot.

When I say eclectic, this is what I mean. This place serves:

- Peel-and-eat shrimp on polenta
- Spiced sugar cashews
- Mason jar with fresh local persimmons
- Oysters on half shell
- Italian crudo
- Pate maison
- Carpaccio
- Portuguese pot roast
- Fried chicken
- Cottage pie
- Boudin blanc

Plus a great smattering of salads and pizzas. Get the idea? Most places can't pull this off. Union on Yale does.

We came the other night and loved it. Flatiron steaks were perfect. Butternut squash salad was great. Margherita pizzas were to die-for.

We had a party of 10 on Saturday night. Everyone really enjoyed the experience here. It has a really cool, old school vibe with the decor. The menus are placed inside of what looks like an old record or LP slip. The drinks were fantastic (I recommend the Sazerac), our server was really friendly and the food was delicious. I had the whitefish and it was cooked perfectly. Several at the table had pizzas and everyone said they were really good. Props for having a pepperoni and jalapeno pizza. We had to split for an art gallery opening, so we did not get to dessert.

There was a good crowd, cool ambience, friendly staff and delicious drinks and food. That hits all the marks in my book for a good restaurant. The downtown Claremont area is a really cool spot and this is one restaurant that I would recommend people put on their radar.

Likes: the atmosphere

Dislikes: the hostess was an airhead. we were a party of 3 and there were 3 other parties of 3 which came AFTER us. she told us the wait was 5 minutes so we sat down. she came back and proceeded to sit the parties that came AFTER us!!! when we said something she just dismissed us. The food was OK but in my opinion the price is too high for what you get (especially in the IE).

Conclusion: we will not go back.

I liked this place more than I thought I would. The service was good and the food that I had was great. I had the margherita pizza and it was great. I was a little disappointed that there were not many vegetarian options. I wouldn't be able to come here frequently due to lack of variety in that department.

My other tip is that the fries are great!

We went here on a chilly night for some good ol' wood-fired pizza! We had the Margherita, Bianca pizza and Union frites. Must trys: Bianca pizza. I devoured the entire thing by myself and was very reluctant to share even one piece with the hubby. The truffled cheese is delicious beyond description. Upon my first bite, I simply said "magnificent," which I do not believe I have ever used before to describe food. Crust is perfectly done and the sauce on the Margherita pizza is suprisingly flavorful. The ambiance is very trendy with insanely cool menus that are like old school LP records. Service is good and staff are all friendly. I really want to try an alcoholic beverage next time as the bartenders looked like serious mixologists!

Yummilicious Factor = A

This place epitomizes trendy (including trendy prices). I really just came for the pizza and wasn't suspecting the "hipster" atmosphere. This is not a bad thing but not ideal if you're just looking for good food without the ugly price tag. The Bianca pizza is 100% awesome and if you're stepping foot into this place, this is the one item that should be ordered. The black truffle cheese is unbelievably good. I'm lucky in my life to have tasted such delicacies. I am planning to come back sometime to expose this pizza's existence. I rarely want to go somewhere twice. We also got the Peppa-Pig pizza--it was just alright.

I got the "Voorhost" beer (I don't remember the spelling) since on the menu it was bolded and had an asterisk next to it. How could I not inquire about it? The waitress said, "Oh, that beer is brewed especially for us. We worked with the brewery personally until it was exactly how we wanted it." The way she put it sounded funny and smug. Although the beer was tasty, I probably wouldn't order it again.

Service was decent, a little slow, but it was there. I'd be coming back for the food mainly and also to check out nearby restaurants/shops. I will for sure order the fried chicken next time.

I found out about this restaurant through the Westways magazine. As soon as I found out the owners were the same as Back Abbey, I made this restuarant a "must go". Months later, I finally had the chance to go on a Tuesday night. We started with the Mason Jar. I don't usually like burrata and tomatoes, but it's the best appetizer when combined with the pesto and oil on top of their warm and tasty bread.

Three of us shared the Bianca pizza and the 24 oz. Delmonico. The Bianca pizza is just cheese, but sooo good! The steak was more rare than I prefer, but it was perfect for the other two I shared it with. It was definitely juicy, but over seasoned with salt.

Husband ordered a beer and kept saying how delicious it was. I ordered a glass of Corvina and enjoyed it as well. I'm definitely coming back!

Afternoon nibbles, and, okay, a Boulevardier. Nicely done. Really fair prices: $8 for a top-shelfer and another $8 for a GINORMOUS serving of lovely warm almonds and olives. Crowd is varied on a Wednesday afternoon into evening and social. Why is the bar so high here? Is it so when I want to lick the platter of nice warm olive oil I can do so without straining myself?
Big, lovely ice cubes in my drink. Forgot to ask for it straight up, which is the way it ought to be served. But it was fine. A nice one to nurse. And most excellent attention from Gus, our barkeep. Yes. We'll be back.

Order the Jidori fried chicken. Even if it's just you. Cos leftover cold fried chicken is awesome.

Their pizzas are very, very good as well. Also, they have bacon from Niman ranch, which means brunch here is extra awesome (if you love bacon)

Service is low key, very good, the patio is relaxing on a warm day.. I think its probably the best nice-ish restaurant in old Claremont.

We went for lunch on a Friday but plan to go back for dinner next date night.
Love the water on table. Cool ambience, nice to see chefs working.

We ordered all three dishes under the raw section. So raw oysters (pretty good), carpaccio (beautiful) , and scallop/ahi sashimi ( fresh and simple) . We also got the suggested wine pairing...brilliant! My man also enjoyed his craft beer.

For lunch entrees we ordered a Bianca pizza for our toddler but I ate it also...very good, Cottage beef pie (very tasty and earthy) fantastic wine matched. And a Boudin sausage dish over white bean puree, very tasty and true comfort food.

I was once a student of Chef Owen, a decade ago, which is why we came to try, and I knew if he was involved in this restaurant it would be great but it was soooo good, perfectly seasoned and cooked, with the wine pairings already done for us...amazing!!

I am so excited to return often and enjoy the seasonal menu, I will travel to Claremont for meals cooked with skill, passion and love.

Oh, HELL.

I wanted to LOVE this place! The way that I LOVE the Back Abby (same owners). It's just not (yet?) possible! No, it's not. Its not...its...not as good...

Dammit, I'm heartbroken over this! Wah! Not cool! WHY, people, why..?

1 - SALT! Jesus, please pay attention to Restaurant Impossible (!) and season the food. Please? The "Carnivore" omelet was almost safe for a vegan...seriously. THAT was filled with MEAT? Are you SURE? Because...

1 1/2 - what *I* got was an underdone, It-Wished-It-Were-Fancy, Pseudo-Omelete of Sadness that had a hint of said meats involved. Poor thing, just WISHED it could be a real omelet when it grew up. No hope...none. Make a new one, as in create a new recipe. This was sad. Go to Walter's...or make a better one (because, all, com'on! I KNOW you all can make kick ass, kick butt food!)

2 - Have the pancakes available until the end of brunch, eh? Really ?(a la Jerry Seinfeld), as in...really?! No mas pancakes? What, no batter? Unable to make a small batch? Sheesh...no, come ON, this is NOT like you all! You all kick serious ass, usually... :( If it's more than that - please let me know so I understand!

3 - Ok, I guess, but no hot chocolate? What...?! Sad face. Ya sure?

4 - THAT was biscuits and gravy? Are ya SURE? Really...? I freakin' LOVE biscuits and gravy, aka, southern style. When the way they should be, oh, it's heaven...Me, either, and she and I are both HUGE B-n-G lovers. But this was a Foo-foo version of a delicious Southern staple. I hate to say it, the mangled it.

*Some positives!*

1 - Service. Good guy, this waiter. We were a demanding and confusing group, and he handled us well. Was he "A-MAZE-ing?" No. Was he good? YES! We were...complicated ;)

2 - They did the right thing! They took off the Biscuits and Gravy my daughter ordered of the check!!!! (her 25th Bday celebration, Holy Sh.....yeah...) She took a bite, maybe two and really didn't like it. They treated us right over it, right!? Hell, yeah, they did! Boo YA! ;) So GOOD on U on Y! (Thanks, folks :) )

3 - I really like the decor. I like the simplicity of the lines, the outdoor area with a fire-pit (I love a fire-pit!) and the boccie ball area too! Neat idea!

4 - The folks that were making pizza dough behind the counter. GREAT people! The invited my kids to come over and watch more closely, and they even got to handle some dough. VERY nice touch, and really kind. I value that as much as a good deal or good food - and so do my kids.

5 - I liked the side salad's dressing. Nice and light and with a bit of zest to it. and hey, I wanted to have more positives then negatives - if not in quality, at least in quantity!

So, will I go back? Yes, after a while, I'll try again and see what happens. I'll look for the future reviews as more people go here and see if I can discern and changes.

you can do it, Back Abby people, I know you can - I have no doubt!

We came here for Sunday brunch. We got a street rico sandwich and a carnivore omelet. The sandwich had skirt steak and chicken on a hoagie and sweet pickles, pickled onions and arugula on the side which you can place in your sandwich. The sandwich was good. The carnivore omelet had sausage, tesa, roasted potatoes, Irish cheddar and scallions with a side salad. There was hardly any meat in the carnivore omelet, with a name like that I'm expecting meat galore! I tried to get pineapple juice but they didn't have any due to problems with their distributor.

We've been here twice, food was good but not impressive enough to come back.
