Went here for the first time the other night for their open mic night. It's a cool place, but there's definitely an older crowd there. The cook is really nice and so were the bartenders. Their food menu is limited, but everything looked really good. I had the pulled pork sandwich. It was pretty tasty. Good, strong drinks too!
Review Source:Me and the wifey met another friend here about 7pm on a Thursday night. Nice lighting and a casual atmosphere gives a good vibe. There are several large screens accommodating whatever sport broadcast you might want to see. Â More than 10 yet less than 20 tables and chairs. A pool table. Â A smaller cozy couch area out of the way of the screens. Â A smallish bar area. We needed to leave at 8:30, as a band (jazz combo ?) was setting up. I would have liked to been able to stay and listen. Regardless, I did experience a good pour from the bartender, and a nice crowd. This place seems fine for a couple on a date or a group of people wanting to party at something more than a dive bar. We enjoyed ourselves and I'm sure will return sooner than a later.
Review Source:I've been meaning to drop by here for some time but Friday was the first time I finally went in for a happy hour drink.
It's really lovely, with a granite bar, airy back patio and large area with pool tables. When I went in at 4:30 (I love that happy hour now begins at 3 PM in many LA, NYC and SB bars and restaurants), it was mostly men. The owner is from Rhode Island and used to be a professional bodybuilder and is a great proprietor.
Women started pouring in around 5:30 or 6 and the band started to set up on the stage where I was finishing my blog and stretching in 2nd position while I charged up the dead Macbook.
I didn't try the pizzas but they have a diverse selection all for 13 dollars. The popcorn on the bar is quite good and the happy hour drinks well-priced: 3 for beer, 5 for well drinks and 6 for wine (Markham Merlot was decent).
I will definitely be back to this slick, reincarnated dive bar (I have been to Tiburon next to Trimm Salon and Color Bar with dye on my hair in a smock but never went to Don's, which catered to genuine alcoholics who start drinking cheap hard liquor at 10:30AM).
The music is fun--1980s mostly--and they have live music almost every night.
Note: it DOES get loud when the patrons are watching sports by the pool tables so if you want a chill drink, get there early.
We just visited the Uptown Lounge for the first time last night and had 'mostly' a  good time.  The band was lively, the drinks were good, and the back patio was very cool.  The only bummer was that dancing is not allowed and the staff was quick to put an end to it if they caught you busting a move.  We will come back to watch sporting events and get maybe a drink and a quick bite, but I don't think we'll come here for more music unless the can get the dancing thing worked out (and I hope they do, because we really liked it here)
Review Source:Uh, not my scene so much. Â But, I loved the folks I went with so, sacrifices were made. Â Drinks, food, about average. Â They, the waitstaff, were mad at members of our party for dancing. Â It's a bar, dancing is cool. Â However, our friends had consumed a bit much, and may have been dancing in the way of some of the staff so I can see their point. Â Buzzkills, still not appreciated though.
Our pizza with arugula on top was decent, not uberfilling, but that's bar food for you. Â The band we heard was good, do I know their name, no. Â The crowd was mellow, seemed to be having fun. Â I'd return, I suppose.
TVs, overrated, btw. Â The outdoor/back seating area is pretty sweet, yay for heaters.
Um, yes, thank you Uptown DJ for making my Saturday night awesome! Great music, good crowd, and perfectly sized dance floor. I don't know where I got the energy, confidence and stamina to battle people on the dance floor and shake it until the wee hours of the night, but it was awesome! We'll definitely be back!
Review Source:This is a new and improved bar from what it used to be (Dons). I went there for the first time a few days ago and was impressed by how friendly the staff was and how nice and clean everything was. One down fall is the licensing issue on half the inside bar, but once that opens up this place is 5 STARS all the way!!!
Review Source:Until they get a license that says that I can drink in the other half of this place, I won't give any more stars. Also, it's weird having their bar back standing over me to make sure I don't go over the line.
Their outside back area is pretty, but where's a girl supposed to drink and pick a song??
Bar tender had a crappy pour and we still paid a grip for our drinks. Won't be returning!!
