Love time out.  I am a local, and visit at least once a week.  It nice living in a small town and going to catch up with all of your friends.  If you happen to be in town on a Tuesday ask about the burger special.  Dean generally focuses on local  ingredients.  In addition he works really hard to have an excellent selection of rotating beer offerings.  He even gets stuff nobody else (or I should say very few people) can get there hands on.  And don't be afraid to start a conversation about it,  lots of great people come from far and wide to talk beer!
The best thing about the place is that is is completely unpretentious, small laid back place doing two very important things well... Food and beer! Â
Cheers!
Incredibly bummed. Was a first timer to time out a few weeks ago... And was amazed by the amount of craft beer and the guru who knew all about the industry. As a regular to swig and reverends it was nice to see something similar in Fremont since I usually steer away from Fremont... However the second time around was a bummer. Understaffed and I will give it to the girl who was serving tables but we went for 40 whole minutes waiting on a beer...a box...our checks... Any kind of acknowledgement! I planned to order take out as well for my boyfriend at home as well as a few more beers but was never given the opportunity. We watched a friend of ours come in (while we had already been sitting there waiting on checks for quite a while) get drinks apps and meals before we were even given out checks.
Still giving a 3star because the food specials are great and the beer selection is top notch... But super bummed I won't be returning!
Stopped in tonight for a beer and some dinner. Â Really surprised with the selection of craft beers on tap, and the serving of them. Â Proper glasses, great craft temp of the beer and some brewers that I would not have expected to find in Fremont OH. Â Had a couple of beers, talked to Dean the owner about what else, craft beer. Had a great hand formed burger with grilled onions and chips. Â Van Ness' Time Out, is already saved as a favorite in the GPS. Â I will be back.
