Fantastic! I just went there today with my boyfriend and we were blown away. We each got an Italian sandwich, and I ordered a side of ham and bean soup. The focaccia was perfect for the sandwich-- light, chewy, and just the right amount of herbs. The meats were yummy, and the little drizzle of balsamic was unreal. The ham and bean soup was nice and hot with a side of cornbread, which was also tasty. This was our first time to Newburgh and it was well worth the trip.
Aside from the deli, Vecchio's also featured a small supply of wines, beers, and dry goods. I had my eye on some good looking pastas and gnocchi, but managed to make it out of the store without spending all of my money on great food.
I was visiting some friends in Newburgh, and on my way out of town, I noticed this cute little Italian market. As soon as I walked in, I felt at home. The staff was warm & welcoming and told us about the pizza they were making that day. It's all fresh ingredients, and the ingredients change daily. I wasn't hungry, but I placed an order, went shopping in the area, came back & ate my pizza at one of the tables along the window. One of the employees heard me ooh'ing & ahh'ing over the truffles, so she asked if I'd like some truffle oil drizzled on top of my pizza -- littleher thoughtfulness made me happy. The food is fantastic, the grocery section offers great items that I can't find in my regular grocery, and the smells coming out of this place are HEAVENLY. Try it - you won't regret it :)
Review Source:My friend, who spent a year living in Italy took me into this quaint little Italian market and sammuch shop in the middle of the "old town" section of Newberg because she loved it so much.
It is the quintessential small town market and I loved it! Almost all of the products are imported directly from Italy, and some oft he products are even made fresh in house.
The sammuch shop in back of the store has a wide variety of meats and cheeses (as you would expect an Italian market to have). The people that work there are exceptionally friendly and make you feel instantly welcome.
I had the "Not Your Momma's Grilled Cheese" which was a trio of cheeses melted in between foccacia bread. If I ever go back (it's in Indiana, I live in Colorado), I'll probably try something else. The bread sort of overpowered the amazing flavors that the cheeses had together and cheese should always be the star of a grilled cheese sammuch, now matter what country it's from.
I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting friends or living in Southern Indiana.
We just moved into town and have already been to Vecchio's at least 4 times! Â Great service, great food and wonderful ambiance! Â Freshly baked bread is great; meats and cheeses are top notch! Â Great place to buy wines, as well. Â Frank serves coffee drinks, so don't bother wasting your time at Starbuck's. Â Come by and you won't be disappointed!
Review Source:A great little market with Italian canned goods, meats, cheeses, wine and beer.
They also have a small deli counter where they serve sandwiches and sell Italian pastries.
They have outside seating and a small bar in the front of the market if you want to eat your sandwich there. I didn't have time for lunch but I'll definitely be back.
They don't have any parking but the owner told me you can park next door at the-I think it's a glass shop, I can't remember.
