Verjus

Hmmm. This is tough.

I Really wanted to love dinner at Verjus. It's in my neighborhood and I absolutely Love French food.
However, the decor and atmosphere was stale/outdated, the food was fine (but nothing special), and there was quite a lull between courses.
The Owner visited every table and was nice, you could tell this restaurant is her baby, which was appreciated.

I'll probably give it another go (I Want to love it!), but I'll be going in with lower expectations.

The food was delicious but even with a special menu with only about 15 total items our food took WAY to long to arrive at our table.

Nice ambience (if not a bit staid), but the service was sloooooow. Maybe it was an off night, but we waited almost an hour between our order and our appetizers and another hour for our entrees. The food was worth the wait (in some cases). All in all some, some very good dishes, some OK dishes, small but affordable wine list and pleasant staff. I was not blown away, but I was not disapponted.
