BYOB is the only consistent thing about this restaurant. They are hit miss with many entrees. Service is also slow. Have had three meals here. Last two were  average to poor. Had a pasta marinara that had overcooked langostinos. What was left of them was tasteless. The marinara sauce was also bland. The manager was defensive when informed and never offered an alternative or even an apology. She merely told me that the langostinos were tricky to cook and that no one else complained. Rather than make a scene I just wrote Via Ponte off for the future.
Review Source:I couldn't agree with the last review more. Â It is a gem. Â Service, food, atmosphere - everything. Â We have had steak, lamb, pasta, chicken Marsala, salad, dessert (almond cake!) - and the best bread ever in a restaurant. Â
When you look around at the other diners you realize that everyone is happy and having a great time. Â What better way to judge the overall experience? Â
There are so many restaurants in the area that are good - but in all categories this is among the best.
A small restaurant located in an old in Stockton that offers wood burning pizza, fresh pasta and good desserts. It is BYO which is great as Philips Wines are just a block away. My favorite is the Pasta con Sarde, a traditional Neopolitan dish complete with fresh sardines raisins and pine nuts. The salads are generous, and well dressed, and they often have specials. Â The pizza are very nice though they lack the char and the bite that I am looking for in a wood burning oven pizza. Their anchovy pizza is worth trying. During nice weather they have seats outdoors as well as indoors. Reservations are a must on weekends, otherwise you can easily plan to walk in.
