I was pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant on a trip to the post office. Being in the mood for some good Italian food my wife and I ventured in. My first impression was that the restaurant is very clean, and well lit. When we walked in, there already was a pretty large lunch crowd, a good indicator about a restaurant. We were promptly escorted to our table, and the wait staff was fast and friendly. The food itself was just good. Not the greatest Italian cuisine, but still worth a visit. Overall, I rate Villa Francesco's three stars. Good decor, clean and friendly staff, food good.

Review Source:Today was my father's 87th birthday. Â He lives just seconds from this restaurant. Â We had made reservations for a restaurant in Ewing but the threatening storm made us choose something closer. Â A few days ago my father and his twin brother had lunch here so my father suggested it for lunch/dinner so that we all could get home before the predicted heavy storms arrived. Â WOW! Â Five of us went to lunch together. Â The place itself is lovely and clean. Â We were seated right away. Â We had a nice big round table. Â We had iced tea, soda, coffee served to us right away. Â Then we ordered. Â I ordered a starter of RUSTICO NAPOLETANO....prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, olives, tomatoes peppers, and more and a CAPRESE salad. Â We were brought a plate of beautiful breads and the best olive oil bread dip I have ever had. Â Everyone at the table remarked on how good the bread and dip were. Â The salads came and were absolutely beautiful and fresh and delicious. Â Next...soup. Â My daughter and I had a bowl of the PASTA FAGIOLI. Â Delicious! Â Just perfect and a very generous size (the bowl of soup...and it was a bowl...came with out meal). Â Husband had NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWER (he's from Boston) and proclaimed it delicious. Â Then the main course. Â I had the RAVIOLI ROSA ...pink cream sauce to die for. Â I ate it with my spoon before I even touched my light and very fresh ravioli (this is not frozen pasta). Â My daughter had PAPPARDELLA ALFREDO WITH CHICKEN. Â Again...to die for. Â Chicken was perfectly grilled, alfredo sauce light and creamy, not over bearing, pasta was fresh and cooked perfectly. Â Husband had CHICKEN MAXIMO (chicken with tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, mozzarella over pappardella). Â He hates flat noodles but absolutely loved his meal...including the noodles. Â Daughter's fiance had GRILLED CRAB CAKE PANINI....again...loved it. Â Lots of crab. Â And the birthday boy had the GRILLED ITALIANO panini which is grilled chicken, bacon, arugula, parmigiano, and honey mustard dressing. Â Loved it. Â
After finishing all that delicious food...and passing it back and forth for sharing...we told the waitress we'd like to see the dessert tray because it was my father's birthday. Â We ordered...husband had some kind of chocolate raspberry cake, fiance had a chocolate chip walnut extravaganza, I had fresh Italian (ricotta) cheese cake, daughter had PEACH SORBET (homemade and served in a frozen peach!), the birthday boy had LEMON SORBET (you guessed it...served in a frozen lemon).
Daughter even remarked how good the coffee was!
All of that delicious food for five adults....lovely setting...excellent wait staff...$147.
Absolutely perfect afternoon with food that was beyond delicious. Â The takeout menu (there's even a pizza restaurant attached...and free local delivery) says that the restaurant in under new management ....All I have to say (after all I have already said) is this was the best dining experience I have had in years. Â Highly, highly recommend this restaurant.
I have been there a week back for lunch. The food was decent but the staff was not. I forgot one of my favorite sweaters there and gave them a call in the evening. They confirmed that they had it and asked me to pick up whenever. I went a day later to know that the waitress took it with her!! The staff was mocking when they told me this. I am never going back there.
Review Source:At first, I was perplexed that our area was getting another red sauce Italian restaurant (we already have more than enough). Â However, I am happy to say that Villa Francesco's is by far the best of the bunch. Â The food is very solid (if a bit expensive) and I find that they do even basic dishes like Chicken Parmesan really well. Â The penne with vodka sauce is also outstanding. Â
We have young children who are far more discerning diners than their parents, and they also love coming here. Â They have a kids meu with portions big enough that you end up taking some home. Â It would be nice to see this place stick around and gain a following.
