Vosh

Really enjoyed the talent that they had at Vosh (although I've seen them before).  We had no problem paying the cover at the door, since we knew there was entertainment.  We ordered beer and martinis, but when we left - we were quite surprised.

Our bill was somewhat more than expected.  When questioned, the waitress informed us that there is an up-charge during entertainment.  I've never been to an establishment where they charge a COVER and an UPCHARGE - both.  It is not specified on the menu anywhere.  I feel like they were 'sneaking in' extra charges.  

Although I really enjoyed the atmosphere - I doubt I will be back when they already charge a cover, have expensive drinks and then they add up-charges too.

I can go to other nice establishments, pay a small cover, get a free drink ticket, see the same bands, and pay less for drinks.  Guess I'm going back to Scoundrels.

I was really excited when I heard about this new spot. A different style of music every night of the week with rotating bands. Finally, someone in Cle gets this should happen. Being one of the only places in the area that is advertising live local entertainment every night of the week, it drew my attention.

After parking in their private parking lot (behind), I was pleased to find the space inviting and spacious enough to accommodate larger bands. Then I proceed to the bar. It wasn't super busy and having two people behind the bar it took awhile to be greeted. I asked twice for a food menu. After ordering a beer and their chicken tacos, I noticed the wait wasn't too long before it came out. They were pretty large and tasty. Settling in I zoned in on the talent.

After finishing my first beer I order another and ask for my bill. This is where I was thrown off. Don't get me wrong. I paid the $10 cover and my tacos were a bit over priced at $12 but good. But then my second beer had an additional cost. I asked the bartender and she informed me that after a certain hour (9 maybe?) drinks go up in price, an "entertainment fee" is added to your drink. Well, after paying the fee at the door, why am I having an increase in drink prices. Doesn't make me want to order another! This is also not advertised or in the menu. Backwards if you ask me.

I'll try this place again, maybe on a different night of the week, since it's new and I have a few friends in the music industry but order a bottle of wine before 9 vs the beer up charge.

Definite props for bringing this eclectic music hall concept to Cleveland!
