Walker Bros Original Pancake House

Seriously, the wheat germ and granola pancakes are soooo good, they make me want to slap my mother. They are literally one of the best things I ever ate.

Kids love the pancakes...but the "no outside beverage policy" is not at all customer friendly.

My wife and I took our three kids to get the chocolate chip pancakes they love at Walkers on Sunday morning.  On the way to the restaurant my wife and I both got take-out grande lattes from Starbucks.  When we arrived at the restaurant, we were surprised that the hostess told us not to bring in our fresh lattes.  I offered that we would buy coffees anyway, and the restaurant was still nearly empty, so it was clear that they would not be losing any revenue.

The staff still did not relent saying the "owner would be upset".  However the "owner" was not available to discuss.  Thus my wife and I were forced to throw out our lattes, so that we could go in to buy our family breakfast.  If the kids were not keen for pancakes, we would have left immediately.

I hope the restaurant reconsiders this very customer unfriendly policy or better yet adds Starbucks coffees as an offering on their own menu.  Otherwise we will have to find another place to get our kids pancakes, where we can still enjoy good lattes.

Been going here forever and ever.  I am so glad that we don't have to drive all the way to Wilmette anymore.  I love, love, love the apple pancakes.  I know they are not very good for my waistline but every so often you just need to have an apple pancake from Walker Brothers.
