Del Rio Restaurant

Went here last night for Valentines Day.  Have been wanting to try this place for a while now and the expectations were high.  I was disappointed pretty much across the board.  Service was polite but very slow. (I realize it was busy) Ambience was alright.  I appreciate the vintage italian look but it was tired.  Food was overpriced and not very good.  I have a pruscuitto pasta dish, it tasted like they were using deli sliced ham.  She had the tortalachi, wasn't very good either.  All and all, I appreciate this type of place for the history, but it's a waste of money and I don't plan on going back.  Take your grandparents here, not your girlfriend.

We read a review in Sheridan Road magazine ..looked good so went with my brother, sister and spouses...all agreed it was the worst meal we have ever had...my brother had veal which looked like grey leather..terrible service..the place needs a good cleaning...worst part was the bill $250 for entree only, 2 drinks and one dessert...never ever go back...Del Nagy, Glenview

Everyone raves about Del Rio.  I don't get it.

Went on a weeknight and the place was dead.  Service was fine but the food was just OK - nothing special.

Did enjoy the old-school italian feel.
