HORRIBLE SERVICE
We visited here last Friday and I can't say much for  the food because we never Ordered.  We walked in to a completely empty restaurant at about noon.  The man at the host stand was on the phone and didn't even acknowledge us.  when he finally got off the phone and went to seat us we asked if we could sit by the window because it was a nice day and he looked immediately annoyed...(may I remind again that there was NO one in the restaurant).  After we were seated we sat there for well over 10 mins without sign of anyone.  no water no chips and salsa not even a server roaming around.  We got up and left.
On top of all that the prices were pretty steep when compared to most other places that serve traditional Mexican food.
Las Palmas provides solid Mexican food at a fair price with excellent service. Â The servers and busboys were extremely attentive and helpful. Â They made sure you had a great experience here and that our needs were fulfilled.
In truth, Wifey and I originally picked the Mexican restaurant across the street but seeing as though their three-taco-meal was $22, we quick-stepped it out of there like Winona Ryder in a jewelry store.
Las Palmas, however, was great. Â Their burrito dinner was $6! Â Without tip, that's a good dollar and a half cheaper than the authentically Mexican Chipotle. Â Plus, you get free chips, great service and you get to chill out in their warm atmosphere. Â Give Las Palmas a try.
Hubby and I go here when we want a no hassle experience. There is never a wait (which tells you something). The food is decent and the margaritas are good. We usually have a coupon... so it's extra cheap.
We get their queso fundido for appetizer... greasy, spicy, cheesy. Yum. The entrees are all good. Nothing to rave about, but you will get a good hearty Mexican meal.
I agree with the other reviewer that says the decor is tired, but I do think the staff is friendly.
When you just want a quiet, no hassle, experience... and don't mind the dark decor, try it; especially before or after a movie in HP.
