We went to Weber's for a brunch a couple months ago and won't be back.  Advertised "wild" salmon was really farmed Atlantic salmon (the cheap stuff) and to make matters worse, it was slathered with a thick sauce, yuk.  The vegetables were overcooked and drowning in butter, pretty out of step with today's menus and tastes. Prices were over the top, especially for the "atmosphere" (totally lacking), and the food (poor). Service was less than mediocre.

An old restaurant attached to a hotel that needs updating in a big way. Start with serving fresh, lighter food at reasonable prices. And serve what is advertised on the menu. Most people know the difference between wild and farmed salmon.

Confused server. Nice jazz. Bar area looks better than main dining room - darker and more intimate. Accommodated a booth request. I dunno.... when Knight's is closed, Webers will do.

We used to go to the bar with a group of 6 for happy hour. This was the first time for 2013. Very disappointing and won't go back. The apps used to be phenomenal and drinks were 2 for 1. Now $.75 off wine...never did find out 75 cents off of what till the bill came :) and apps were those big salty pretzels with yellow goop and brown goopy stuff that you would expect at a bar that has peanuts on the floor! Not the upscale happy hour it used to be! Oh and the waitress kept calling us doll or hon!

Need a lower score than one star.....cramped musty...one tiny window covered by musty curtain....view of either the roof HVAC or the highway....short sheets on the bed.....tiniest bathroom....can not even leave a toothbrush on counter....have to step to the side of the toilet to shut the door....can see the TV from the lamp but not the bed or the sofa...only one bedsie table....nothing like the boutique hotel it advertised.....charges $2 for a cookie that others give you complimentary....couldn't get our deposit back to go to the Clarion across the street.  Buyer BEWARE!!!!!!

The food and atmosphere are amazing. We started our meal with the mussels and tuna appetizers which were both very fresh. It was my first time at Webers, so I had to order the prime rib, as rare as possible (my usual order). The prime rib came out cooked perfectly and was so tender and flavorful. We had a trio of the homemade ice cream for dessert and the root beer float flavor was a major hit. The root beer float flavor was so dead on mmmMMMmm Yum. The waiter was very polite and seemed excited to be working there which makes you as a guest feel very welcome. The manager came to check on us a couple of times and was very nice. As we were leaving we noticed live music in the lounge and the bar area seemed to be very lively. Fun place, great food, a must try !

The hotel has been completely remodeled. It's close to U. of M. and is a neat place to stay when going into Ann Arbor. I live north of Detroit and I have spoken to several people that make the 1.5 hour trip to Weber's Inn just to go to their Sunday buffet. I haven't tried the buffet yet, but I've seen the set up. Tables and tables of selections which looked awesome. I'll be going back there this month and maybe I'll get a chance to check it out a little better and get some pictures for you.

This review is for the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Our waiter, Ron, made the whole experience fantastic!! We were so pleased with his service and he was so friendly and helpful with menu suggestions.

1 star because 0 is not allowed. We thought we'd try Thanksgiving out. What a mistake. I wasn't expecting much, but I certainly didn't expect a turkey that appeared to have been cooked 3 days ago and kept in a warmer. It was basically inedible. A few slices of juicy turkey would have been much better than a whole, super dry, crusty, hard turkey. It was so bad, we actually cracked up. It seemed like we were punked for going out on turkey day.

Ok so this review may be a bit biased because we were here for my future sister in laws wedding so we had a fabulous time with great friends and family which put me in an awesome mood... you have been warned.

This hotel is definitely way more modern than I expected. I'm pretty sure it's been in Ann Arbor since the pilgrims discovered it, and yet it was super clean and very contemporarily decorated. I thought the beds were pretty comfortable too. The only thing that still seemed out of date was the bathroom. It was a bit cramped.

We enjoyed some pool/ hot tub time which was a blast as well. They have a bar in the pool area and it is open until midnight. They have these cool rooms that have spiral staircases down to the pool area. I imagine that would be great if you were there for the weekend with kids that wanted to go back and forth between the room and the pool. I probably wouldn't want to stay there because I can imagine the kids get pretty noisey at times.

Saturday morning, we had brunch here and it was pretty good. Not bad prices. The only thing that was weird is how slow the service was. When we got in, they told us our party of 8 would have a 15 minute wait... there were tons of tables! We even offered to split up and they said it was still 15 minutes. We figured there was a big group of people who resereved tables, but when we sat down in 15 minutes, the tables were still empty?? It was weird. And our server was very friendly and nice but everything took forever! If it weren't for this experience at brunch, they would have gotten 5 stars from me.

The room the wedding in was a standard room, but when we decorated it, it was really wonderful. The food was heavy appetizers, not a sit down meal, and everything was pretty delicious.

We had brunch the next morning at the all you can eat breakfast buffet. the mini waffles with toppings and homemade whipped cream can't be beat. Everything else was good as well, with some standard breakfast buffet offerings and some different things as well.

The food is solid. Prime rib is good. On Mondays it's a good deal.

    Why 1 star? SERVICE.

I lived in Ann Arbor for 3 years and used to come here quite frequently. I used to put up with the horrible service. The waitresses were aloof and seemed to be more into socializing with their coworkers than providing service. The bartenders are the absolute worst. I get angry thinking about it. My wife and I once sat at the bar for 30 minutes while the bartender helped all of his crony friends. I walked out and told the seating hostess the bartenders needed to be fired. I'm not the kind of person to walk out of a place.

But we came back because we like the food. WHY?!? After receiving the same treatment again I won't be going back. I just have absolutely NO respect for a bartender/waitstaff that is clicky and treats certain people better than others. I have money. I'm on overtipper. What the F?! Horrible business practices. Horrible staff.

In short. Don't go here. The staff sucks and will make you angry.

This place is privately owned and operated for three generations. It's close to downtown and has luxurious amenities that make it hard to leave the hotel. I'm dying to return in the summer and enjoy their veranda and four season pool.

I love that my money is going toward a local, family owned business that was affordable and class act. It's a little more than I'm used to paying for just an overnight stay but the service and convenience made it worth my while.

Free parking + the upon check-in we received a ten dollar voucher toward the restaurant. I was relieved the voucher didn't have restrictions aside from not being able to apply toward gratuity (duh). Our entrees were delicious, our drinks were great, and the service was excellent. All that for only $41 after we applied the vouchers. We charged it to our room and a credit to my SkyMiles will be applied in 3 weeks for every dollar I paid at Weber's.

I used to joke about going here when I was younger because the billboards are so cheesy, but it's a wonderful spot for a retreat. This is way better than sleeping on my friends' couches when I was college aged visiting Ann Arbor.

    Also, foosball table.

Nice indoor pool. Decent food. Tiny bathrooms. Plus for me was that the hotel had free wifi and the rooms had iHome docks. Can't complain but nothing spectacular. Staff was friendly.

This review is about the restaurant. My girlfriend and I went there the other night for Restaurant week. While the place was probably busier than usual due to the unbelievable deal, I must admit that this place is amazing.

We found that the food was to die-for, I had a honey-mustard glazed salmon dish while she had the duck. The service was fantastic, with almost every waiter/waitress with a smile on their face.

I would also like to mention that looking over their menu, many of their dishes were quiet pricy.

This review is for the bar and restaurant only. I have come here for Saturday night live music and for Thanksgiving Dinner.

We came here for the live music on saturday night which supposedly begins at 8:45pm according to the newspapers and website. We ordered dessert and proceeded to wait for an hour before the band started playing. It took the band over 1 hour to set up. I don't think we had the time wrong but I couldn't understand advertising for live music at 8:45pm and not having it start until nearly 10pm. Oh well, our key lime pie was pretty good but didn't make up for the tardiness of the band.

We had the sit down Thanksgiving dinner here where everyone orders their own meal off a special menu (there are a few different Thanksgiving day options). Most of my party opted for the traditional turkey and dressing dinner but I saw roast duckling on the menu and had to have that. The half duck that came out was pretty large. As for the quality, it was ok. It was rather tough to cut and probably overdone as well. My mother in law also had the duck and we made a total mess of the table with dismantling our dinners. I think the restaurant should have cut it up in to a few pieces to make it a little easier to eat. The restaurant ran out of pecan pie by time dessert came around so I settled for pumpkin pie which was good.

Overall, I'd say this restaurant is very classy and nice but the food doesn't knock my socks off. It has a lovely atmosphere and crowd which are the reasons to come here.

I went to Weber's for the brunch buffet with a large group, and our server was nice and very accommodating, despite the size of our party.  We were seated in a back room overlooking the hotel pool.  The buffet had a nice variety of dishes, including fruit salad, pastries, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, and waffles and pancakes with warm syrup, fruit compote, and whipped cream.  I was puzzled by a mysterious breakfast casserole with a weird custardy texture, though, and wish it had been labeled.  Another thing that bugged me was the smell of the bar.  It smelled like decades of spilled beer and mildew.

Overall... while Weber's would not be my first choice of venue in general, brunch here was very convenient for our large group and the food was better than I expected.

Hotel was okay ... Until we tried to sleep. We had a suite by the pool which, unbeknown to us when we reserved, stays open until midnight with bass beating music accompaniment. Unpleasant to say the least.

Back for a dinner with a group of 25, and it could not have been better!!

Phil and another young guy kept up with the drinks, orders, drinks, desert and more drinks.  Considering ... the bill was not as much as you could imagine.

    Nice job, guys!!

3 months later I find myslef in Ann Arbour again for a week while m husband attends business classes.

This time we got an upgrade to a king suite with hottub which turns out to be a regular bathtub with jets like I have at home.

Also this so called suite is smaller than the regular room we had last time and for $300 a night a bit dissapointing.

Though his job paid for the stay I was still not as happy with the room.

It was on the top floor which no airconditioning in the hallways and with it being 100 degrees the whole week I was here and having direct pool access which was brought the heat it, it wasn't as nice a stay.

The staff is still great, the rest of the hotel nice, just seems like they stopped renovations on the fourth floor, not only were the hallways hot but also not painted and the ceilings weren't finished.

We didn't dine in again, except for the free martini and beer on the first night, martini was horrible again, the beer was better.

Breakfast tasted great again, it was just pricy, I had 4 pastries and paid $12 and couldn't help but think how much I could have bought at Kroger for that money.

In all still a great hotel, we will be back for business but if it was upto me, I would find a much better deal on Hotwire.

Shocker. I was not expecting much at all. My parents dragged me here for lunch with ominous promises of a buffet that was a mere $7.99. Yikes. I was only willing after my father ponied up a bonus offer of an escargot app, the man is smart and knows me well.

The escargot here are some of the best I have had in awhile. Tender, fresh and bathed in little cups of herbed butter. It comes with garlic bread to dunk into the sauce but the bonus here is they serve up a basket full of fresh bread for the table that makes for happy dipping too. I have to eat these away from James as the sight of me gobbling down snails makes him literally need to vomit. Yeah. This from the man who can watch truly gross videos while eating. I guess everyone has their limits.

I was not expecting much after that. I went to the buffet and decided salad was the way to go. Happily they make their dressings in house, and the prepared salads on the salad bar, soups too. I put a little lettuce on my plate, some happily ripe sliced tomato, added a big scoop of chicken salad, some almonds for on top, some veggies for dipping into it and hard boiled egg slices for the hell of it. Already I feel like I am getting my money's worth. I added a little scoop of bowtie pasta salad, a bit of some homemade looking potato salad, a spoonful of fruit salad with coconut and I also added some fresh chunks of watermelon, canteloupe and pineapple from the other fruit bowl. I swung by the table behind me and got a small 1/2 cup of soup, beef stroganoff being the flavor of the day and my choice, but they also have chili.

When I started eating I was wide eyed. This stuff was fresh! Not over mayo-ed Gordon Foods/Sysco crap! The fruit and veggies were perfect, the prepared salads were not drenched. Ripe and just lovely. At this point I am pretty full but I am curious so I forge ahead for the benefit of my fellow Yelpers (yes I am full of crap, I'm just a glutton).

The mains were turkey and ham with mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy and woohoo cranberry sauce. They also had some sad looking canned type green beans, those were avoided by me. The turkey was breast only but tasty, not dried out dreck. The ham was sweet with a bit of necessary smoke, very honeybaked type and therefore happy as hell. The taters were real (with lumps!) and the dressing was terrific covered in gravy. The cranberry sauce had actual berries in it but was still jelly-esque which makes me nostalgic and added pop to the meal. Everything was pretty damn good.

Lunch buffet runs from 11am-2pm. $7.99 people. Items rotate: on Wednesdays it is BBQ ribs, on Fridays it is various types of fish and clam chowder. They have Americanized theme days with versions of German (brats and knockwurst with red cabbage and spaetzle), Irish (corned beef and cabbage) and Mexican (tacos, burritos and Mexican rice) foods. There are also days with items like chicken and dumplings, stuffed peppers, fried chicken and baked chicken. There are always two protein options with a veggie and at least one starch.

Also they feature a make your own sandwich section which I did not try with salami and other cold cuts, cheese and condiments with slices of their house made bread. In a pinch if you did not like the proteins you could make this. The day I was there several people used the bread to make turkey and ham sandwiches with the hot meats, which works.

For the price I would have been happy enough with the salad bar and soup. Nice surprise here though.

Update 6/3/12: Had Sunday brunch, cheap for 9.75. Great sweet items and fresh fruit. The rest of the buffet was very meh. For the money its fine but I would not go out of my way to eat it.

I'm not sure why some people rave about this place. Maybe if I came for the famous prime rib dinner, I'd understand.

I have been here a few times, long ago. Did not make much of an impression. Recently, we came here for brunch to celebrate my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. This is my parents' kind of place. "Normal" American food.

The place was sure busy, with diners and hotel guests coming and going. They put us in the bar at the front, since our group was fairly large. The surroundings were very nice. The room where they had the breakfast buffet seemed pretty posh.

But the food was incredibly ordinary. I did not see many things that appealed to me. I avoid nitrates, so many of the foods were out. I stuck to the scrambled eggs and fruit. Brunch cost $10. Would have been worth it if I could have sampled more of the food, but I stayed away from the muffins and other baked goods, assuming that they'd taste too sweet for me.

I had a great time with my family. That's what mattered to me.

If the owners of Weber's read this: You should have a separate hotel / restaurant page.

RESTAURANT was a solid three stars, though it was truly a mixed bag. The place reads to me like a great restaurant that has gotten lazy.

Prime rib was excellent -- five stars. Beautiful pink medium cooked perfect with outstanding flavor. Maybe the best I have ever had.
Mashed potatoes were silky, buttery, flavorful...really good though a bit heavy for me.

Service/kitchen overall was pleasant but not very competent.
    - London Broil was good, but pretty gray for the "medium" I asked for.
    - Lobster was tough -- do not recommend.
    - Clam chowder tasted all right, but I caught grit a couple of times and it was too thick for my taste.
    - My potatoes au gratin were cold in the middle (they warmed them but offered no comp)
    - Potatoes au gratin, even when warmed, were oily and undercooked
    - They forgot my son's entree (noticed this after bringing all of ours).
    - Kids hamburger was unseasoned and gray.
    - I heard at least two other people around me either send dishes back or ask for components that were left off the plate

So I give it three stars for overall quality and decor (classic supper club), but this should read as a slap in the face to a restaurant that clearly could do so much better.

    HOTEL:
    - lobby was kept clean
    - check-in/check-out was easy and friendly

    ROOM:
    - seriously outdated and in desperate need of a facelift
    - tiniest bathroom, you think you are staying in Europe

    RESTAURANT:
    - had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there
    - service was always attentive except dinner time
    BREAKFAST:
    * good pastries and coffee is not too bad
    * service was attentive
    LUNCH/DINNER:
    * fish is not their specialty, it's definitely not fresh
    * service was friendly & attentive for lunch but absent for dinner

Not my cup of tea and would not be in a hurry to return.

Just had brunch here, 100 times better than the quarter bistro. Fresh eggs and eggs benedict were awesome. The hash was great, waffles were excellent and service was top notch. Keep up the good work.

Love the new decor as well

Note: This review is about the conference center services/amenities only.

What is great about Weber's Inn is the free wi-fi. Yes Internet makes a lot of long meetings better. Lol The food served was actually pretty decent. The bread and meats were fresh with a nice salad. But it was basic turkey/ham, so I'm not sure how you could screw that up. The dessert table was a highlight of lunch (I'm partial to moist cookies). The downside was the staff. Plates stayed on the tiny tables we sat at for over 30 minutes before being moved. Not good with the amount of space we had. When I asked a server for a salad w/o nuts he proceeded to say they didn't have it. When the hostess of our event asked him (1 min. later) he produced a salad within 5 minutes. With all of the choices for venues Weber's Inn would be okay if you were worried about high costs or didn't want to go out of the way in Ann Arbor.

I would give the restaurant 4 stars.  All of the food we ate during our stay was great.  The prime rib is very good - not the best I've ever had, but you see how they have earned their reputation.  Breakfast was great, and really quite affordable.

I was there for a wedding so I was able to check out the ballrooms.  All lovely spaces.  The little annex space off the large (grand? I forget the names) ballroom where they set up the bar was strange.  It felt like this could get to be a real bottleneck.  The smaller (atrium?) ballroom had a more central set-up for the bar that worked efficiently for my bourbon-seeking purposes.

My sister's room was very nice with a balcony overlooking the pool area.  Great for kids.  Great for sitting up with one last glass of wine after the wedding ended.  Although consensus was that you are going to bang your knee everytime you try to get in or out of the whirlpool tub.  It is pretty tall - probably not a good choice for seniors.

My room was a little more generic.  No balcony.  Standard bathtub of a standard height.  Showerhead that was so low I had to duck to rinse my hair (and I am only 5'10).

I've gotta give Weber's a solid 4 stars. Now, this review is solely for the restaurant; I've never stayed at the Inn, never been to a large event there, nothing like that. I've only eaten at the restaurant.

That being said, I've enjoyed the two times I've been there. However, I may be slightly biased, considering the events surrounding my experiences there. My first time there, I went to dinner there with my now-fiance. We couldn't decide on a place after spending the evening seeing the Christmas Lights at the Toledo Zoo, and since this was close to home, we came in here. The food was quite good - my steak was cooked properly at medium rare, the potatoes were perfect, and my veggies were amazing. I was a happy camper. My bias, though? My fiance proposed later that night, so I think everything that happened that evening has been upped about 10x on my "YAY!!!" scale.

The other time I went there was for brunch, on my birthday. It was pretty tasty, actually. The service was also great. Traditional brunch fare, nothing to write home about. But I was glad to be there with friends and fam. The service was slower then, but it was also busier. All in all, a good experience. Give it a shot!

Here is the thing - I lived in Ann Arbor for a little over 12 years. During that time I went to Weber's Restaurant for our company holiday party and had a great time. The food was good. The drinks were good. People very nice. I have also been to the restaurant on several occasions with dates and friends. Again, great food, great drinks, good time. The value is always impressive to me - the quality of the food for a pretty reasonable price... it's impressive.

So this week, traveling between cities, I found a very good online price for a room and booked it. Rock star parking, the place has been freshened up inside and out, easy access to the freeway, good price, nice people, and to top that all off - the room service is from the restaurant! OMG! What an amazing deal.

My job takes me across North America to some of the top hotels in the country. New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Toronto - you name a major city, I can recommend a hotel. Weber's Inn has just gotten into my top 10 list in the US.

Beds are comfortable, not amazing, comfortable. Best sleep I have had in weeks. Cable - great line up. Good HD televisions in the rooms. Quiet - can't hear my neighbors until I go out in the hall.

Food - see above, just great (salmon spread with bread was just brilliant)

Why not 5 stars? Well, I spent the day working in my room, and the internet speed was not as fast as it could be. I might be fickel about this point. I need fast internet - not T1 lines, but a little fast than what I had.

If you are in Ann Arbor - go to the restaurant. If you need to stay in Ann Arbor, stay here.

Food's ok but the service is TERRIBLE!  We had an awards lunch here today for about 30 people and I've never seen service so bad.  Our luncheon which should have been about 1-1 1/2 hours ran closer to 2 1/2.  Several people had to leave before the desserts were even ready.

Thank goodness they decided to do the awards in the massive gap between drinks and salad or else we might still be stuck there!  They didn't even get all the desserts right.  I understand a kitchen might get backed up but salads and things like cutting a pie shouldn't take forever and could be done by a waitperson if the kitchen staff is overwhelmed.

There efficiency is so bad it took them about 15 minutes to serve the desserts off of each tray.  We were tempted to just go up and grab our dessert so we could get out of there.

I will not be going back.  Food wasn't bad, but it wasn't good enough to put up with that kind of service!

I was so disappointed with Weber's for 2011 Restaurant Week. In short, the food was bad and the service was inexcusable. I expected more from a supposedly 'nice' restaurant.

So, we sat down and the server (an older woman) came by with a younger gentleman who she was apparently training. She explained that he would be assisting her and then disappeared (she never came back). The guy took our orders and was unable to answer most of the questions (my table was very understanding considering that the kid was training, but it would've been nice if the server who was training was there to make sure he knew what was going on). Having a gluten allergy, I was nervous that the server was unable to answer my questions but he managed to figure things out after taking my order.

I got the London broil with a house salad to start. The salad was fine--nothing special, but I enjoyed and ate it. After waiting for quite awhile, our entrees came out. (The female server made a brief appearance around this time but didn't help her trainee with anything.) By this point, everyone's water glasses were empty and we were strategically placing the empty salad plates around the table to make room for the entrees. My London broil tasted like the roast beef that comes out of the University of Michigan cafeteria--to clarify, it was BAD. Out of the 7 people at the table, half were happy with the food and the other half were disappointed. Oh, and after we were about half way done with our main courses, the trainee stopped by with a basket of bread that was supposed to come out before our salads...oops.

After we ate and sat around for awhile twiddling our thumbs and staring at our empty plates, the male server came back and apologized for forgetting our dessert orders. Of course, he forgot about my gluten allergy and brought out my sorbet with a little gluten-containing garnish. I didn't want to go through the trouble of sending it back since the service was so slow so I ate some sorbet from the side and avoided the part with the garnish.

Finally, we got our checks and were ready to go since we needed to get back to work after our 2-hour lunch. Both servers were not to be found so a girl from my table took the checks to a bartender where there were several servers standing around. Instead of helping, the bartender said, "Umm, can you take this to the hostess?"

To sum things up, I just want to say I am truly over this place. Not only did yesterday's lunch SUCK but the service was terrible when I called to make reservations for New Year's Eve and when I called to speak to the manager in the past. I'm giving Weber's two stars because: A) some of my friends enjoyed their food and B) the trainee server probably would've been great if the person training him hadn't been absent the entire lunch.

Bad hotel customer service. Overcooked tuna. Out-of-date, sluggish staff. Don't-give-a-care attitude. Well, at least the renovations look good.
It seems every other hotel and restaurant has progressed with the times except this one. Please send your staff to a training on etiquette and customer service. They all need to be taught the "give 'em the pickle" mentality.

I'd always heard great things about Weber's but never had a chance to try it out. Finally my boyfriend and I stopped in for dinner one evening and we both had the famous prime rib for our entree. From the taste to the presentation, everything about each course of our meal was amazingly delicious.

However, we did feel our server paid less attention to us because we're younger than their average customer. The server seemed uninterested and gave short answers to our questions about the menu. My wine arrived in a glass that looked dirty and you could tell the server spilled some down the side and just tried to wipe it up, which made the glass sticky and smudged. We had to ask for refills on our drinks and the server didn't care to make small talk with us the way she was with her other tables.

The experience wasn't completely terrible but it sure wasn't what I expected from a place like this. Sure we're just young 20 somethings and can't afford to become frequent diners here with our budget, but we were still paying customers and always tip at least 20% (even in this case)...

Weber's always delivers. This has been a staple to my family for the past 8 years. When they come to visit they stay in the hotel and we eat in the restaurant on a regular basis. I am part of the frequent diner club, which I got two free apps for doing so. Also, you get points on your club card even if you just go to the bar and drink. Win. I love the bar here! Habitat Lounge. It's definitely a more classy feel than any other bars in the area.

For dinner we shared the Rock Shrimp Quesadillas and the Calamari with Scallion Aioli. The shrimp in the Quesadillas were HUGE! They were good but I would have liked a little more heat. It was serves with corn and black bean salsa. The calimari was delish!!! Rings only, as usual, which I LOVE. I refuse to eat the tentacles.

The place is always high class and the staff is friendly. Always love Sunday brunch there too! I would recommend to anyone :)

I went to Webers on a Sunday with my family and I have to say I was totally disappointed! The server was nice but not very attentive and she took forever to bring the bottle of wine we ordered. I had the tenderloin medallions which were supposed to be served with beranaise sauce, crabmeat, and asparagus, over crispy potatoes...when my dinner arrived I got basically that but my steak was stringy and flavorless, they gave me a teaspoon sized dolap of flavorless crabmeat, and 3 mushy stalks of veg...the béarnaise was yellow and tasted much more like hollandaise which I am not a huge fan of...and it was all piled on top of diner style greasy hashbrowns...bleech! It was bland and soggy and just not good.

My S.O. ordered the famous prime rib which when it arrived it just looked tiny and sad on his empty plate. It was very thin and was juicy but we have both had better at Knights or even Outback...it reminded us of wedding fare, not horrible but you're happy it was free.  It was also kinda strange that they served him a baked potato on a side plate but not one vegetable..somewhat unbalanced in my opinion.

Overall, I can't say I hated the experience but I think I will visit other restaurants like Knights, The Earle, or even Outback before I return here...

    Verdict: don't waste your money!

Pretty good stuff...we went for the brunch on Fathers' Day.  The decor of the restaurant is so elegant, the brunch was decent, but what's with the lack of bacon on the brunch spread?  Isn't that illegal???

One highlight was the pianist who played an amazingly demure rendition of none other than acdc's "dirty deeds done dirt cheap"...how cool is that?!?!?!

p.s.- kids under 3 enjoy the buffet at no charge

This review is for restaurant only....

if you want some big portion of Prime Rib, then you want to go to Weber's Inn!  They are known for Prime Ribs!  While I think their prime rib is little blend, try it with horseradish - it will bring the taste out of the meat.  The meat is tender and juicy.  If you want more meat, get the chef's choice!  I have to tell you though, I can only eat 1/2 of the prime rib... I take the other 1/2 for next day's lunch :)

I like their calamari and their dipping sauce.  I have also tried their oyster, it was fresh and excellent... try it with cocktail sauce and a dash of hot sauce!

If you have a special event going on, make a reservation and ask for the room overlooking the hotel's pool - I think you need 8 or more people.

I'm gonna go with a big fat "NO" for Weber's as a hotel. More aptly a "motel" for the most part, let's be real honest, mmmk?

And, hey...while we're at it, I'll dish one out for the restaurant as well.

    Mediocre, at best.

Hotel: The old addage, "can't just slap lipstick on a pig" works well here. Yes, they've done some renovations and slapped some mod colors on some old paneling, but the weathered walls still scream "oink, oink." The rooms are small, the beds are small, the bathrooms are small. It's definitely more in a class of Super 8 than any of the higher end hotel chains. Probably fine for a quick night or for a wedding stay (though, the screaming wedding party at 5am was NOT welcome), but if you've got a choice, go elsewhere. My mistake...

Room Service: 1 hour and 15 minutes for a lox plate and coffee. The lox plate was nearly inedible, with wilted veggies, a non-toasted bagel, and limp salmon. Coffee was weak, and they forgot the cream. Not exactly the breakfast of my dreams for $30. Yes, I'm somewhat at fault for ordering lox, but if you are going to have it...HAVE it be good.

Service: Eh. Ok, but nothing special. Kind of disinterested. I would be too if I had to work here, I guess.

Location: If you don't have a car, don't stay here. You'll be trapped.

*Also, the only ATM is up 2 flights of stairs in the restaurant...which is (for now) blocked by construction. There is no elevator, so if you have bagged, fuhgeddaboutit.

    Blah, no.

This could be a great place. It could be similar to The Earle with a truly European menu. My God, I cannot believe they tout their seafood. OK, I'm from New Orleans which may be a bit unfair, and it is a LARGE restaurant, which may make it more difficult to crank out consistently good dishes, but the 'special' Mahi my wife had, and the whitefish I had were bland, and a bit dry. The 'wild rice' served with both was atrocious in terms of how bland and dry it also was. Both were served with overcooked asparagus. The drinks mercifully were good, and cheap!

I really was hoping for more as I liked the idea of trying a new place, but there are enough talented home cooks, new chefs, talented chefs, managers who could monitor the quality of the dishes. There was a great 80s band this Friday night, and it was packed which is maybe where they are placing their bets.

I think it could be more than just a high school banquet hall quality with a little more care and effort as the servers were genuinely good, professional and caring.

Sorry Weber's may give you another change w/ the advert of new management/chef.

Truth be told, I only go to Weber's restaurant once a year - at Thanksgiving. I have lived in Chicago for years but as my family has died off in the last ten years, I drive home to my very rural hometown (pop. 642), 50 miles from Ann Arbor, and take my mom to Weber's.

Truth REALLY to be told:  I take her here because I cannot find ONE decent restaurant to take her to that is open on Thanksgiving. Unless I want to go to Denny's or a Holiday Inn buffet, the pickins are slim in that area.  (What I wouldn't give for The Common Grill in Chelsea to be open! Or Dusty's Cellar in Okemos!)

Weber's is okay overall - it meets our needs and my easy-to-please mom was happy. The Thanksgiving menu was filled with choices other than turkey such as steak, lobster, salmon, prime rib. The butternut squash soup was creamy and delicious - the traditional turkey meal, consisting of turkey, gravy, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry relish and candied yams was sufficiently good although they need to add a some sort of green veggie here as the plate was all starch. Or perhaps they consider your salad choice the veggie. Anyway, our server Bobby was great .

We have gone to Weber's 4 out of the last 5 years since my brother died. (We went to Win Schuler's in Marshall that off year - utterly lackluster and disappointing.) We skipped one year because I was SO pissed off at Weber's I vowed never to go again. I SHOULD have called or emailed the company as I normally would have, but I didn't. Here is what happened:

In Dec 2004, we first went to Weber's with my dear friend Patrick and his mom.  We had reservations and the 4 of us ate family style in the basement. It was great having your own turkey, etc. Our mothers loved it.  The next year, I made reservations for two as Patrick and his mom would not be joining us.

When we got to Weber's we had a young girl hostess tell us "we don't have a reservation for you" - she got a middle-aged woman manager who promptly told us "oh? Only 2 of you? We don't take reservations in the family style area for just TWO!"  She was rude and curt and I had all I could do not to lambaste her snotty attitude thru the roof.  I said "WHY didn't someone tell me this on the phone? I made the reservations a month ago! I drive here from Chicago to take my mother to dinner, so what do you want me to do NOW?"

And by god, she said "you will have to go upstairs to the restaurant." I said "since we don't have a reservation up there, are we going to get seated or will we have to wait for hours? I mean, this is NOT our fault!"
She just said "tell them what happened and they will put you on the list."
She was such a bit**!  I was FURIOUS!

So, Weber's, you are lucky you get my business. It is only because you are the only game in town. I will continue my search for another Thanksgiving option.

This review is for the hotel, since I don't really have any strong opinions about the restaurant.

I recently stayed at Weber's Inn for three nights and attended a very nice wedding banquet there.

The staff is extremely friendly, professional, accommodating.

The hotel rooms are a little old and the bathrooms are a little small, however, they have tried to modernize the rooms in certain ways.  For example, the bathrooms have an awesome make-up mirror that is attached to the wall and moves on a hinge, so that you don't have to stretch over the bathroom sink to put on your make-up.  The beds are very comfortable and the rooms have an internet connection.

The hotel rates are not bad for the level of service you get.  We paid $125 a night on Fri&Sat (during a UofM football game weekend!) and $89 on Sunday.

The only warning I have is not to stay on the 2nd floor if you want to go to bed early.  We could hear music from the 1st floor banquet area until a little after midnight.  I am assuming that the 3rd and 4th floors are quieter.

Overall, I would definitely stay here again because of the friendly staff, the comfy beds, and other amenities, like the internet connection and pool.
