Laughably bad!
We went on a Sunday, before the dinner rush. Our host tried to seat us directly across from the ONLY TABLE with customers in the whole restaurant. This wouldn't be a huge deal, I guess, Â but the table had four kids under the age of 10. Please don't sit us right by a loud table when EVERY OTHER TABLE in the restaurant is open!
Ok the food:
All the apps on the menu are of the fried food variety, priced around 7 to 8 dollars. We had the fried green beans. They were bar food quality and definitely OVER PRICED.
One in our party had the tilapia. It was dry, tasteless and probably microwaved. It was like 12 or 14 bucks. Total rip off.
I had a steak that was rough, overcooked, and bland. It was small. Go to Outback or O'Charleys if you want a cheap, edible steak.
Another had the lettuce wraps (for some reason called Oriental? Seriously? Is this 1964?) The meat was tough, the rice was mushy, the lettuce was STALE! I couldn't tell if it was pork or chicken since it was so processed and bland. Maybe neither?
Another had the brisket sandwich. It was chewy, tough, and tasteless. It looked awful.
We had to get our own peanuts because they forgot to offer them to us.
I tolerated the 2 dollar bloody mary, but my god I would probably need ten of them before I'd ever agree to eat here again.
AVOID!
This was my second visit and it was late, about 30 min before closing. Â Service was great. Â The only thing was they were out of so many things, because it was a kids eat free night and of all things, they ran out of salad. Â I wanted to take home some Palamino Mustard, out of that too. Â :( Â I love that stuff. Â
The food wasnt as good as I recall, but it may have been the time we were there. Â I wont get the brisket sandwich again. Â Too tough to eat. Â The pcs just came out of the sandwich with each bite. Â I'll have to drop in again to properly assess it. Â The first time was soooo good, I couldnt stop raving about it.
I dropped by for dinner last Friday, and I ordered what I usually get at this kind of place: a steak (KC Strip), baked potato, and veggies.
Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing, perhaps I came in on a bad night, but whatever the case may be, I was underwhelmed across the board. Service was good, but not tremendous. The decor and the atmosphere were okay, but nothing blew me away. Overall, the food was disappointing; my meal was VERY expensive, the steak was of a rather poor quality, and my baked potato arrived cold.
Frankly, I do not believe that I would eat here again of my own volition. Considering that I can go to any one of a number of other steakhouses and get a larger, better-quality piece of meat for comparable (or even less) money, I would rather go there than spend my money at Whiskey Creek.
