I am not big on the bar scene, but when I am looking to have a fun night out with my friends and some great drinks (that aren't over-priced at all), Whiskey Dix is THE place to go! The Country and Classic Rock vibe and it's convienient location near Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam make it an awesome place to kick back, have a few drinks, dance to great music, and even play some super-sized jenga! If you like cocktails, try the Strawberry Lemon-drop! Basically spiked strawberry lemonade and super tasty!!! Mmmmmm :)

Review Source:Girls night out, Whoo! Â I'm a fan of Dixie Grill and had heard good things about their new bar up top, especially the jumbo jenga and connect 4 games. So a bunch of us girls got together to check it out. It wasn't too busy at 10:00 on a Saturday night and found some parking up the hill behind the building. I got a Yelp check-in deal, $4 for their Lone Ranger drink, which I bought for my friend. She said it was way too sweet. :( I stuck with the IPA. The two jengas were already occupied so we commandeered a corner with hay bales for seating, next to the dance floor. I am not a 'country' girl, being from Cali originally, but I do know my share of old country songs and line dances. I did enjoy that the DJ played some non-country mixes. I enjoyed it and would come again.
Review Source:Pouring down rain, found parking instantly and was not even fully in the door before a lovely waitress took my drink order. Â Great service here. Â Eight dollar jack and coke - seems a little high but I'm no expert. Â No cover makes up for it.
Good music, lots of two-stepping. Â Not as much line dancing as I would like but still pretty good. Â Nice people, decent bathroom, giant Jenga - fun :) Â The dance floor is smaller than I'm used to but I am told it's larger than the one at Nashville.
I had been to Dixie Grill in the past, but one of my friends told me about Whiskey Dix opening upstairs. Â The first time I went was shortly after the grand opening, so it was pretty low-key. Â However, last night was awesome! Â The place was packed, but the servers were still great about taking drink orders and clearing the tables quickly. Â The DJ was great and she kept everyone dancing, even before people might be dancing at Nashville's or the country bar on Pearl Harbor. Â I love the giant Jenga blocks off to the side. Â Yes, parking is a bit icky, but where is it not annoying around here? Â I was able to find a space after a few minutes, so it was okay.
I had a great time and I'll definitely be back.
I don't do country bars...
But this one was fun! Â My first thought was... "I feel so out of place!" cause a; I'm asian and b; I'm short...i looked around and saw...tall white guys! um...yeah...but after walking through the area and checking everything out, my friend introduced me to her friends (who were also short and asian) and it was a little better. Â :)
I love that there's a lot to do here than just stand and drink - you can dance on the dance floor, play pool/shuffleboard, giant jenga, sit at the bar, or take a spot at the long picnic table benches and just hang out. Â Kate's the new DJ and she takes requests (although I didn't request anything)
I did learn the bar serves only American brewed beverages - that includes hards. Â Nice shout out to America! Â :) Â It's also super conveniently located in Aiea on Kamehameha hwy so you don't have to drive out to town to enjoy a nice, american country bar. Â Although, I don't think I'd necessarily come here on my own since this isn't my music scene but with the right friends and right attitude, it's fabulous!!
Really glad that my husband and I can go out without going  into Waikiki! Took friends and family here for drinks, social time and gigantic JENGA!!! We had a blast and the only thing I would change would be the amount of people. Unlike Nashvilles, the place was fresh, clean and plenty of room on the dance floor rather than people constantly bumping into you. A great social area for a large group playing jenga and having som drinks. The pools tables were plenty and were not on the way to the bathroom blocking everyone and having to wait out the door. Many women like clean bathrooms that dont feel like your going to catch something, very clean and great lighting!!!! The WAITRESSES were also so incredibly sweet! I tipped them well because they were not  nasty or rude at all even to the women patrons. At nashvilles those waitresses can get really nasty and rude, it gets old. I loved the fact that I wasnt getting hot from just standing there and that there were not huge fans in the way taking up space. They also had a great selection of wine which I can not get at Nashvilles.
THE ONLY THING WHISKEY DIX NEEDS is to GET THE WORD OUT and PACK that place!!!!!!!! Will definitely be going back soon!!!!!
I had a Great time on there Grand opening!!! This is a great spot. The bartenders were busy but keeping up nicely. The cocktail servers  are very nice looking, and friendly. The GAME ROOM, wow what an awesome idea, the pool table and the rest of the games are  brand new. I enjoyed my time there, the dance, the vibe, and even the country theme was above and beyond! I forgot at one point I was on an island in the pacific ocean. Next i would suggest taking a cab, parking can be very tight. Aloha and hope to see you there next time
Review Source:Parking was an absolute NIGHTMARE!! Parking is tough enough on a regular Dixie Grill night but combining the country bar with it is horrendous. I had friends parking deep into the neighborhoods blocks away. Beer special was Bud Light $3.50/$5 for 16/24 draft. Not bad I think. The bad part was I had a friend who wanted a gray goose/cranberry but they didn't have ANY common name vodkas. No Gray Goose, Stoli, Absolute etc. The drink ended up costing her $9 due to some unknown (apparently) high end vodka which has turned her off from the place.
Waited in line FOREVER for beer. They bartenders were all over the place doing drinks but they were very slow for the crowd building up behind me. The order station has enough space for two people to stand. Myself and another guy were standing there. The bartender took the order next to me but was going to make me wait until he was done, I shouted "Tall Bud Light" and he was "forced" into accommodating my order at that time which helped. **Note to bartenders, You CAN prepare drinks, pour beers for more than one customer at a time. Helps throughput and tips**.
We were in a side of the bar where the large jenga made from 2x4s was. No servers came around for the first hour we were back there.
This place screamed for them to run an extra service satellite such an ice tub with canned/bottle beers to provide a fast serve station and take pressure off the bartenders. Or just run a couple extra taps of bud light since it was the special.
I did like the side room with the games and couches. I question though how long the monster Jenga will last before liability concerns kick in. You literally have a pile of lumber towering and tipping over people sitting in low profile couches who generally were not aware of what was going on with the game. When we saw our game reaching it's limit we made sure we got couch sitter's attention who were oblivious to what was going on most of the time. Also, even playing the game was fun but I was nervous for pounds of lumber crashing on my feet as I was wearing slippas.
I can absolutely see it being a great alternative to Nashville's. There is certainly a need for a couple more country bars on the island which are NOT in Waikiki. This review is early in the bar's business so maybe it will get better.
Absolutely enjoyed the backroom with the Jenga an giant connect 4 game. Girlfriends of mine said they would have liked to have seen a bunch of board games there also. It is a good setup for that.
Also, tall stools in that game/lounge area. There is a drink counter that runs along the wall and we all were looking for some tall stools to park our asses on.
At this time I have no interest to go there unless I happen to hit the Dixie Grill I would have a passing curiosity to check out upstairs if there is no cover. MAYBE go there if friends start recommending it and identifying the service problems are better.
I could see the increased parking problem possibly hurting Dixie Grill also which would be unfortunate.
