This is my favorite pizza in Wichita. I've been eating here since they opened and have never had a bad experience. Plus the owner is super nice! She has the Dairy Queen next door and she works so hard to make sure both businesses are the best they can be.
I love the Greek pizza, enchilada pizza, and the Pineapple Express pizza. The salads are big and tasty, too.
I'm updating my review based on our last few experiences. I think that Wichita Pizza Co MIGHT be my favorite pizza in Wichita. (The closest rival is Pacific Coast Pizza which is delicious as well.)
We went last night to use a dealsaver coupon and ordered a medium half and half pizza again. We also ordered the cheesy breadsticks (we received 6 covered in a thick topping of cheese and with two sides of marinara). I got the Thai Chicken (without the chicken) and my husband got the Spicy Jack. He said his was good, but didn't have a ton of buffalo flavor in case that's what you're looking for. My side was interesting! It had a nice peanut-y sauce with a topping of carrot and purple cabbage pieces. My only complaint was that without the chicken, there was a lack of other toppings (I think it had mushrooms on it, but there weren't too many) and I should've asked for more to sub in.
Every pizza I've tried here has been great, including the mama's enchilada pizza (subbed something for the chicken...the cream cheese sauce was SO good) and the taco pizza. They also offer gluten free crust! Their normal crust is thin and crispy and yummy.
Every time we go here, it's always empty. This place needs more business! Go visit Wichita Pizza Co! You won't be disappointed.
I'm always leery of local pizza shops, but this place surprised me. Â I've had several of their pizzas now, some I've never seen anywhere else, and all were great; good toppings and sauce. Â Anyone in town looking for something outside the usual pizza chains should definitely give them a chance.
Review Source:Tried them out last night. Wanted to get a good sample so we ordered the Bacon Chicken Alfredo sandwich, the Club sandwich, garlic bread sticks and a small Bacon Cheeseburger pizza, minus the pickles and mustard.
All of our items were good and as ordered.
The chicken was better than the club but both were good. The pizza was really nice with plenty of toppings. And it is pretty hard to mess up bread sticks but they were above average too.
The sandwiches came with a side of plain potato chips and a pickle wedge. The bread sticks came with marinara dipping sauce. Â
Our only complaint was the time it took to get our order out. We walked in and placed our order to go. It took between 25 and 30 minutes. Now having a menu I will call ahead next time so that shouldn't be an issue again.
I want to try a calzone next time and a different pizza too.
Over all I would say it was a good value for the money.
I wasn't expecting great things from Wichita Pizza Co, but I was surprised. The crust is cracker-like, and not in the textural way in which I'm usually talking, but in that it tasted kinda like a cracker, which was a little odd, but good. There was some crispy texture there, too on the bottom of the crust, but it was still a little too thick to attain the crispiness throughout.
I liked the use of cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, though I think too much was used and it threw off the balance of the pie, covering up some of what the sauce brought to the party. It was decent, from what I could tell - sweet and somewhat spiced, I would have preferred more of it.
I've been meaning to try WPC for a while simply out of my search for the best pizza in the city, but what caused me to take the plunge was their participation in Groupon, which not only got me a $15 pie for $7, but also introduced a slew of new customers - on the day I visited, the owners mentioned they got about 40 of the ~250 of us who bought the Groupon visiting to redeem their merchandise on that day alone, which must have not only increased their business quite a bit, but also introduced some new people to Wichita Pizza Co. that otherwise wouldn't have bothered. Bravo, WPC, for embracing social media. I hope it helps your business in the long run.
Of course, having a solid pizza doesn't hurt, either, and Wichita Pizza Co. doesn't exactly take the cake, but in this binary world of Wichitan pizza, it scores a 1 on my scale.
(1 is good)
I enjoyed the pizza here and I enjoyed the atmosphere just as much. Â Great place to watch games and the choices of ingredients are plentiful...so much more than most pizza places around here. Â Canadian bacon and sauekraut work suprisingly well together. Â I really liked the cheese and they don't skimp on the toppings! Â Not sure what the complaint about the price is based on....this isn't Dominos..this place has unique quality ingredients. Â I think they have some kinks to work out being new....but I think this will become our go-to pizza place in the area.
Review Source:Ok, I will say that I was looking forward to going here when I first found out it opened up. Â However, after going there for lunch, I was disappointed. Â The old pizza place that was there was great and closed because of reasons other than doing business. Â So here are some Pro's and Con's of what I got at the Wichita Pizza Co. Â
Pros: Convenient location, not too busy, helpful and good staff. Â Nice looking place and an improvement from what was there as well as a larger dining area. Â It appears that they have a bar area which is a nice touch for the location. Â Good number of HD televisions. Â
Cons: Â Unfortunately, there are a few cons that I found. Â However, that will outweigh all of the pros that they have. Â The first one is that they do not do pizza by the slice. Â Not a biggie but places like these would do better with pizza by the slice. Â The next con is that they are overpriced for the product that they put out there. Â The Calzone that i got was over $7.00 and at most pizza places, if I got one of their regular Calzones it would have easily been under 7. Â The second half of this is that their food was mediocre at best. Â I would not have paid $5 for the food that I got. Â The crust was not a traditional pizza crust. I can't describe it, but it was not what I was expecting. Â It didn't have any flavor to it either(I tried the crust first to see if it would add flavor). Â The ingredients were ok at best. Â Once again, not enough flavor to the food. Â To me it was a lot of bland over bland. Â I think they can get more with a different cheese and spicier sausage/pepperoni. Â
Overall, I was not impressed with the food and that is why I will probably not be back, unless they change their recipes and then I would give them one more try.
