I had driven by Wig & Pen several times and finally took the leap to go when family was in town for lunch. The food was very good and our waitress was amazing. They were very accommodating when it came to my 18 month old son and went out of their way to talk to him. Â I tried one of their vegetarian pizzas while other members of my party had the pork tenderloin and chicken salad. Both really enjoyed but my grandmother loved the homemade chips. My son gives two messy thumbs up to the chicken strips.
My only complain was that there was another male employee who walked around looking as though he was pissed at the world. He ran into me and did not apologize. He simply gave me a dirty look and continued to clean off his table.
Ordered carryout from here a week ago.  They said it would be 35 minutes, but it wound up taking 50 minutes.  In the end the food was not a disappointment.  My fiancé and I moved to Ankeny last weekend and wanted to try out a local pizza place.  I would most definitely go back again, but I think we will dine in and give that a try.  We ordered a thin crust sausage pizza and a Chicago styled "The Union Jack."  Mmm.
