Some things never change, and the Jammer is one of them. You can't help but relax with the laid back divey atmosphere inside, super chill bartenders, and breathtaking views outside on the deck. Challenge friends or foe to a game of Volleyball if you're hanging out back by the beach or sit back with a cold one and watch in the captain's chairs like the rest of us. LOL. After frolicking in the mist or pounding some balls in the sand, I recommend heading inside for one of the best hangover prevention burgers in town, although I prefer the hand battered corndogs with tater tots. When the sun goes down, don't be surprised to catch fresh local talent or big time favorites like Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Sister Hazel and Widespread Panic playing center stage. The untamed energy in this bar at night and beach bum atmosphere by day are the charms that keep me coming back all year round. Whether you fly by day or by night to The Windjammer, you're guaranteed to find good music, friendly bar staff & a jam good time!

The Windjammer is kind of hard to explain...the actual inside part is relatively divey.  It's more or less just a big open area with not a whole lot going on.  During live music shows it's almost as if you're on stage with the band which is good and bad...great to see them up close but it's loud loud.  The food is actually quite good...and during the off season they have the best deal on oysters around town. Once you step out onto the back deck you'll really realize the huge draw everyone has to the Jammer. Beautiful views and it's own walkway to the beach, along with their own private volleyball court. Also, every Sunday during the summer they have their own bikini contests that pay out a $500 cash prize...entertaining.

You can't head down to Isle of Palms without checking out the Windjammer.  Are you gonna find tourist's there?  Is it a place where the sand meets the water?  The answer to both questions is a resounding Yes.  Any bar that is literally on the beach is guaranteed to have tourists, no need to whine about it.  If I was visiting, I would want to go too.

For a pretty basic bar/restaurant, the Jammer keeps it coming with entertainment.  If the weather is warm, and the sun is out, there will be a crowd here.  Whether you are escaping the sun for a daiquiri, playing volleyball on the court, or ogling the volleyball players from the porch, it's not a boring place.  Volleyball tourneys seem to pop up all the time as well.  Maybe get a pick up game going.  Sunday Fun-day? On Sundays in the summer, The Windjammer holds a weekly bikini bash that leads to a finale with a pretty hefty cash prize.  Typically a fun day and things get lively.

When the sun goes down, the night rages on with live music.  Often local tunes but, I have seen some decent shows including Grace Potter and Crowfield.  It's big for a bar, but small for concerts.  If it's gonna be a busy one, I would suggest arriving early to claim some space.

My biggest complaint is the price of the drinks.  They are a bit high but, somewhat expected for the location and considering it is a Music venue.  I haven't confirmed myself but, I hear that when they kick people out to re-admit everyone for a concert (if you want to stay from day to night, when there's a concert, you need to leave and come back in so you can pay the cover charge if one is being collected) they raise the price of the drinks.  If it's true, I'm not a fan of that kind of behavior.

This is my "go to" place in Isle of Palms. It's just pub grub, but it's done right, be it a fish sandwich or a hamburger is always cooked just right!

What a fun place to have a drink. Right on the beach, volleyball court below the deck, comfy adirondack chairs to gaze at the ocean and CHEAP drinks. My husband's father and uncle, who are in their late 60's now, used to party here back in the day.  Nuff said!

Great big bar or mid sized music venue holds probably 550 and the Disco Biscuits played here over the summer. During Carolina Oyster season (late oct, nov, jan, feb, part of march) they offer $10 buckets about two and a half dozen oysters. Nice place!

cool place.  prices were reasonable, but i have one gripe.  We sat at the bar and ordered foood. after waiting a while we started to wonder what the hold up was and then i hear in the smallest decible, my name over a speaker.  hey guess they called my name for my food to get picked up.  didnt realize i needed to pick it up myself.  pretty stupid.  turn the speaker up some

This place is not to be missed when hanging out in Isle of Palms. The Windjammer is an awesome venue to take in a live musical performance by some of today's up and coming artists. It also is a kick ass beach bar. The beer is cold, the burgers are sweet, and the atmosphere says "beach bar" all the way. A can't miss if you are in Isle of Palms.

I'm sure the vibe changes depending on what music is playing but the 2 night run of the disco biscuits out there was on point.  A little over-crowded, but decent acoustics.  Great time, great party.  They told me they never sold so much pbr till we came to town.  Chicken sandwich and burger are definitely edible.

FYI:They have stone IPA in bottles.

So, this review is for Greg. At the Sam Bush concert Friday night, the bartenders sounded a painfully loud fire station horn 2/3 through the (stellar) performance, and again as the band was winding down. Sam Bush loves to play several encores, but it is kinda hard when he's competing with a fire station horn-and a cow bell. Did I mention the cow bell?

Sam Bush? Five stars, every time.

*Update. I've been corrected. It was a half time buzzer, not a  fire station horn.

Only been there during the day, during the sunny warm, hot summer beach day.  Simple goal, drink enough Corona's (limes for lunch this day) that the walk back down to the Sea Cabin must be done on the beach so you don't get hit by a car.

Oh yes, I'm drinking these Corona's sitting on a picnic table, watching a pick-up volleyball game in the foreground while the surf pounds in the background.

I can't do this often, but it's a treat when I take the time.

i'm starting a support group for the breathing-impaired. they have been ignored far too long, and it's time someone addressed the problem. we will meet nightly at ac's and saturday afternoons at the windjammer (because everybody breathes easier in a smoky bar). there are some basic guidelines for the meetings: members are allowed to speak only when a ciggie is in hand and after first buying a round of key lime pie shots (key lime pie shots, like ciggies, are nourishment for the lungs). there will be a support group for alcoholics following, and the only rule for those meetings is you have to have a beer in hand to talk (otherwise how would we know you're an alcoholic?) and prior to addressing the group (ie, taking shots) you must say, "i'm so-and-so, and i'm an alcoholic." the last rule is: you must make moves like michael jackson and always wear a hat.
    welcome to the ether.
