Decideed to meet a friend who loves wine here for dinner and drinks during the week. We probably should've taken off when the guy working was looking around in a mini fridge for a Malbec. He finally got a co-worker who informed him that red wines aren't refrigerated. He must have not only been new to wines, but new to serving altogether. He took our order without writing it down and so had to come back to clarify salad dressings and sides. Both of our dinner choices were plain and underwhelming. Mine had about 12 ounces of brie inside which was total cheese overload, not to mention brie isn't packed with flavor! He came out to check on us and he just picked up our plates and walked away with them without asking if we were done eating! I was but my friend was not. We definitely are done with this place though!

They served my red wine in a small wine glass that allowed no room to aerate(swirl) the wine and from the bitter taste they didn't decant it.  So I stirred my wine with the fork at the table.... not cool at 9 dollars a glass.  They have a very nice atmosphere and I wish the best for a future.

Wow. I am mortified that I asked friends to join me here. After a great experience a month ago, I have had the worst dining experience ever in Peoria Heights. Cold food, no service, oily fish, having to go to the bar to get our own drinks and silverware... Based on similar experiences from the tables around us, we will never come back here to eat.

I was traveling for business and happended to drive by. I had the best black bean burger I've ever had. The bleu cheese coleslaw wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped so the bartender brought me out samples of the pesto potato salad and balsalmic pasta salad, both were very tasty. Wine selection impressive. I'll be back!

I took my mother here for lunch and it exceeded my expectations!  We came around noon and found a nice table near the window in the corner.  We were promptly served drinks and ordered our lunch shortly afterwards.  My mom had the crab cakes and a side salad, and they were excellent!  Great dipping sauce :)  I had the turkey and brie pastry, which was very delicious but I'm happy I paried it with a side salad b/c it was a little dense for lunch.

Overall, the atmosphere was very nice for lunch!

I had lunch at Wine Country while visiting family in IL for the holidays. The steak sandwich was amazing. Not your typical small, thin or sliced steak (as I've been served in other Peoria establishments) - rather a large, juicy, QUALITY ribeye that you could cut with your butter knife. Cocktails and appetizers a few nights later were wonderful as well. Definitely a great choice for an upscale, comfy, casual bistro.
