This is another spot where the catchy name makes you want to go and check it out. This place has been through a couple of owners that i know of. Â The original owners were very knowledgeable on their wines and beers. The current staff are slightly behind in knowledge but make up for it in how personable they are in particular Henry who is the face of Wine me up. That guy goes out of his way to make sure your comfortable and his service is excellent.Recently they have moved bookcases in the middle of the room totally dividing the 1000 sq ft area which doesnt make any sense to me or anyone else with a bit of interior decorating knowledge but hopefully they'll change it. They have various wines and some basic beers you can fine at any bar/restaurant. The thing that sets this place apart is customer service and from what i seen last weekend entertainment. They had an awesome band, which unfortunately cant remember the name, playing there. The other patrons there say this happens every friday and saturday. Well worth it!!! Â So come check out this elegant spot, sit back and have a nice glass of wine. You'll be happy you did.
Review Source:I've been to this place twice now and I have had drastically different experiences. Â The first one was not the best, the lady running the place was a bit rude and stand offish. Â According to the bar tender she no longer works there. Â The second time was a much better experience. Â I went there with a group of girls and at first the place was empty but it slowly started to get more busy. Â The wine selection was very reasonably priced..some bottles of wine were as low as $17. Â They had several wines by the glass options as well. Â The atmosphere was good and the bar tender was super friendly. Â
I will prolly be back again.
Things are looking up at Wine Me Up! Â If you haven't been there since the walls were green then you need to return. Â If you think they only have wine to sip on, you would be wrong. Â
This is a great place to grab drinks in the NW. Â They have new owners, more tables, and are now more focused on entertaining rather than selling trinkets and being a gift shop. Â In fact, the only thing you can now purchase here (well, besides food and drinks on the menu) are bottles of wine. Â They have an extensive wine list, but they also have beer on tap as well. Â
As for entertainment they have live music every Thurs and Fri night. They also bring in wineries from the area and beyond and host wine tastings. They also have various BBQ and movie nights, where you pay a flat rate and get food and wine. Check out their website: http://www.winemeupbaker…
They've done a lot with this space and it's a great place to sip on a drink and have a chill night. Â I really want to check out one of their events as well!
First time my wife and I went there, highly recommend the place for a nice laid back atmosphere, very clean and you gotta try the crackers!!!! There addicting!!!! The wine was amazing, we recommend, "The Prisoner" & "Abstract". We will be returning very soon!! The new owners are doing a really good job!!!
Review Source:Small, intimate, horribly decorated, service is friendly albeit not very professional attire, good cheese and olive plates, small but great selection of artisan beers I've never seen. Overall just a chill cool place to hang out at with some friends. They closed at 9pm the night I went which was kind of disappointing. Selection of wine tastings are limited to 10 red and 10 white which is surprising due to it being a wine bar. They also have a shop stocked full of wines you can buy for fairly reasonable prices.
Review Source:What about "Beer me up?" Does it seem odd to anyone else that a store with "wine" in it's title has fewer wines than Olive Garden? 20 wines (10 red/ 10 white) for "by the glass." If you want to taste others you can buy the bottle and then pay an uncorking fee. I wish they had more wines available in each classification. Get more wine! Make flights and food pairings!
On a positive note, I much prefer the couch/lounge setting for chilling with a glass of wine.
Not impressed at all. They stock a huge selection over priced wine from Vineyards I've never heard of. And all the wine they have is from SLO County. I was hoping to see something from Napa Valley, because I feel that great wines come from that magical soil.
If you're more of a beer person they do have a decent selection of micro-brews. But being the title of the business is 'Wine Me Up', they should focus on wine. This can be done by getting a wider variety, lowering their prices, and improving the ambiance of the business.
My letter grade: D+
I went here with couple of my friends. The place is quaint, few tables, with couch like setting. They also sell hand painted wine glasses and other neat stuff. My friend and I ordered Mosato, but before that we asked for some sample and they gave us a pretty hefty sized sample. the price of wine is comparable to any that you get at a restaurant, just the selection is greater for obvious reasons.
There was couple of things that I found annoying about this place, when you ask for a glass of water, they bring it straight from the tap, it was really disgusting because it was room temperature tap water. Secondly, the waiter came to our table six times asking us if we wanted more wine or water.
Dropped by this place a few times. Â It's a good place to taste and discover new wine. Â They have a neat machine that dispenses their wine. Â They serve their wine in two sizes, 2oz. or 5 oz. Â I have had some really good wine there, in fact I was so impressed by one called 'The Prisoner' that I bought a bottle there for $40 which was the most I had spent on wine at the time. Â They also have a few beers in bottles you can buy, some microbrews and a few imports from Germany/Belgium. Â Every time I have been to the place so far both the owners were working. Â Both are knowledgeable and passionate about wine. Â The patrons I have seen/interacted with do not seem like wine snobs and were quite friendly. Â The only downside to the place is the prices. Â The average is around 4-5 dollars for a 2oz. sampler and can get up to over 10 dollars for a 5oz glass. Â Your bill can add up very fast after a few. Â If you are a wine enthusiast, this place is a no brainer and price shouldn't be much of an issue. Â For others, try it out and see if they can turn you into one.
