The sweet wines are not just too sweet, but lack body and alcohol content.  I am so spoiled from North Carolina Sweet wines...where the alcohol content is 10-12%  You are drinking wine, not spiked grape juice.  SOUTH COAST WINERY also has some excellent sweet wines.  The non sweet wines here at wine tailor  are awful as well!
I joined the wine club and THEY CHARGE YOU 25 BUCKS IF YOU CANCEL BEFORE A 6 MONTH PERIOD! Â I have belonged to numerous wine clubs and NONE have ever done that. Â I thought it was really cheap. Â Makes them look desparate! Â Gotta make money somewhere I guess. I just didnt want to continue my membership, given that I disliked their wines so much. Â NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE!
If you are a real wine connoisseur like me THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO! Â very disappointed!
I'm not a wine snob, but I do know a thing or two about it. The Wine Tailor is great for large groups or picking wines for gifts. There is a huge range of things to choose from. My friends who are more likely to drink wine COOLERS than anything else would totally love the fruity wines available at the Tailor. Big bold reds for my friend who's tasted wines all over Europe? They've got those too.
You can get a pretty good price on a whole barrel, which can be bottled with personalized labels. You can even do the bottling yourself while having a little party in the back! This would be a great bridal party get-together and double as wine for the table at your wedding! (Can you tell I've been thinking about this? Since my boyfriend and I had our first kiss here, it might be appropriate!)
What keeps Wine Tailor from a higher score is the employees. While most of the staff are friendly, they can get very distracted. We are club members here and go in for tastings pretty often. We'll pick up the wine for the month but usually also make additional purchases, so I'm put off by the fact that we don't get a ton of personal attention. Staff members will chat with each other while our glasses sit empty. The last time we were in, a keyboardist was setting up for later that evening and just being SUPER obnoxious and the staff fed into it. I get that they're friendly with the entertainers, but he was being loud and inappropriate and the staff just laughed about it, even though we were clearly uncomfortable.
Overall, I love The Wine Tailor. If they could work on balancing "we're fun" with a more attentive, sophisticated demeanor, I would be ecstatic.
A really cool boutique wine bar located in a historical building... nice combo! Â And you can make your own wine with custom labels... even better. Â The staff was friendly and helpful. Â The wines I sampled were perfect for my palate. Â I plan on spending many an evening at this little gem! Â I will definitely check it out when they have live entertainment. Â Do yourself a favor and discover for yourself, one of Cucamonga's best kept secrets (for now).
Review Source:I don't know much about wine but Erik ( I believe that was his name) was great in explaining the wines, I tried the 65, argentina trio, purple twilight, almond champagne, and white satin. All the wines were pretty good to my palette, but Calvin C., who usually does drink wine, did comment that it was pretty decent.
The funny thing about this place is that I would never have been here if I didn't have a hankering for Souplantation next door. I can see why many people consider this a gem. They have their own wines where you can make your own label and such, the setup is nice and rustic/homey feeling, and the workers all know what they are doing and are very helpful. Lastly you cant beat the price for wine tasting. If you happen to be in the area this would be a nice little pit stop, it is noted as the oldest winery in CA also so there is that factor working for it also.
Going wine tasting is always fun. I think the Wine Tailor is a perfect place to take the beginner wine drinker, the person who doesn't drink wine or the wine consoir. The summer wines are fun and sweet, Way too easy to guzzle down (not a problem to me). Perfect for pool parties.
My son is 21 and never drinks wine and is a bartender, so it was fun to bring him here to experience wine. Now he can introduce wine to his customers.
I also had a birthday party here. We bottled our own wine, sent some home to my guests. i even picked ot my own label with a special saying. I brought my own cheese and crakers to compliment my wine i picked out priviously.
A friend of mine brought me here for my bday! The 5 for 5 deal during happy hour was amazing. We tried 4 wines and a wine slushy, which was tasty. Very clever. Anyways, the vibe of the place is great and the employees are super friendly and helpful. One of the younger boys there convince my friend to sign up for the monthly club to receive a bottle of wine each month and unlimited wine tasting + 1. Pretty good deal! I'll be her plus 1!
I definitely come back and bring my husband. & I can't believe this is right down the street from where I live!
This is a great gem located in Rancho Cucamonga! Â A friendly, fun and casual place to enjoy a glass of wine (or 2, or 3). Â They have great specials for wine tastings. Â I found some fruity wines that I would have never considered before that are some of my new favorites! Â If you are not confident or new to wines, this is the place to go - they are great with suggestions!
They have several tables, and outside seating, but my favorite is the triangle table!  You can  bring your own food to share with friends if you choose.  You are also able to reserve a table if you will have a larger group.
I love this winery! The owners and staff are all friendly and provide excellent customer service. All of the wines are reasonably priced and with the variety of fruit wines, reds, and whites, there's something for everyone. New additions include flat screen TVs in the tasting room and a slushi machine that makes ice cold treats with various wines. Membership is affordable and allows you to meet and hang out with cool people in the Inland Empire area. There's live music from 6-9pm on Saturday evenings; Massage Envy provides free 10-minute massages one Friday a month; and all fruit wine is available for tasting and discounted purchase the last Friday of the month. Be sure to stop by this winery and indulge the next time you're in Rancho Cucamonga.
Review Source:Wine tasting for $5?!
I had an unexpected wine tasting with my sister. We were next door getting coffee and we walked around the plaza and came across this place!
We walked in because we saw a wine tasting sign. One of the ladies that worked there immediately greeted us and showed us around the cellar. We found out that this place makes their own wine. You can even make your own wine and give it to your friends as gifts with personalized labels.
We got to try 6 wines for $5, normally it is 5. My favorites were the white wines. And I actually liked their reds too even though I am not a big fan of red wine. I wasn't too big of a fan of their dessert wines because they tend to be high in residual sugar. It tasted like fruit juice to me.
They have a small section where they sell imported wines, mainly Stella Rosa.
This is a place to check out if you are around the area! They have happy hour from 4-7pm every day and they have a live band playing on the weekends too.
I have lived nearby this winery for almost 10 years but I went into this for the first time last week for wine tasting. I recently turned 21 and so I started to look for places for wine tasting. :)
I was actually at Coffee Klatch, which is just next door to Wine Tailor. On my way to my car, I saw a sign outside the winery that says "wine tasting." I was attracted by that sign and immediately walked in.
I was greeted by a lady and she showed me and my sister around the winery. They make their own wine and they ship in grapes from different countries. Some of their wines are oaked and unoaked. They also have custom labels that you can design to put on bottles of wine. I might consider to do that as gifts for my friends and families wine on their birthdays and holidays.
They had wine tasting for $5 and they have a selection of 5 different wines, 2 whites, 2 red, and 1 dessert wine. My favorite was a white wine called Niagara. I usually do not prefer red wine but the one I tried, called Awe-Cee, was also pretty good.
They have a wine club for around $16-$20 a month and each month you get a free bottle of wine, discounts on various wines, and also free wine tasting every week!
Everyone that works there is really friendly! I look forward for another wine tasting!
I live in upland for about 10yrs and now at am able to drink. This year I when to napa and love the wine! I when to the mart and me and my mother want to check it out ... We were in our PJs at first it was i bit weird but then we started our wine tasting and talking to other it was a great exprience. It a good prices specially if you get the memeber prices and love the idea at you can make your own wine for cheap prices and a good way to give it as a gift. ... Cant wait to go back .....A must palces to visted!!!! Also I like the idea of taking your food!!
Review Source:I tried some of their wines at the wine festival. Pretty good. But what most impressed me was the fact that this is billed as California's oldest winery. How cool!
I can't wait to go and check out the actual vineyard. It was built in `1839. Wow! That's some serious wine history.
I'd really like to try some of their fruit wines, like Pear-licious.
So wonderful!! Went there on Friday for their $5 wine tasting, ending up signing up for their monthly membership. It was the first time there, and the staff was so friendly, atmosphere was so comfortable, and the wine was delicious! My friend and I tasted many fruit wines, and we love them all, bought and drank a bottle there, and took two home! Great place, will be back for sure.
Review Source:I love this place. We have been  members for a little over a year now. And are on the premium plan, which is $17 a month for one bottle of wine (red or white), and unlimited wine tasting for 2 people. Also, when you are a member you get 10% off any wines you would like to purchase. The tasting is $5 for 5 wines pp. If you come in Tuesdays the tasting is free and fridays they have a special of $5 off their wines. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. On the weekends they have live bands play, either inside or out on the patio. The atmosphere is very fun and entertaining!
Review Source:I love this place. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the wine isn't quite the best. But it's nice, especially considering the welcoming atmosphere.
My book club started meeting here earlier this summer. They were so accommodating! Even though they close at 7pm on the weekdays, they allow us to make ourselves at home on the patio and stay as late as we want. Seriously, an amazing staff. The wine is great for a group of girls, because it's mostly fruity and sweet. It's not exactly the right place for the serious wine aficionado, but if you're looking for a great atmosphere to do a casual wine tasting, this is the perfect place.
This is a cute place. A bit small but the veteran staff have always been very friendly, not too thrilled about the new ones yet.
I love their fruit wines! Each has a unique distinct flavor.
Not a fan of any of their white wines and most of their reds. There are a couple reds I do like but all in all hands down I prefer the fruit wines, which is odd since I prefer red wines over anything else.
So if you want something perfect any time of year, but more so during the summer, pick up some of their fruit wines! They aren't overly sweet, which I like.
Being a member at The Wine Tailor, I can taste every day for free. Also, I get two bottles of wine a month, one fruit and one regular, for less than $30.00. The boutique is cute. Â Everyone is very nice and helpful, and it is a nice place to stop in after taking my twins to the library on a summer afternoon.
Review Source:Small charming cottage looking place, smelled grapey. Walk right up to the counter to taste 5 pre-chosen for you=5 $. Â We re-tasted the fruity wine, no additional fee. Strawberries with champagne as advertised. Free. Almond sparkling white**
All the fruit wines on the back of the menu reminded me of an adult version of boones farm. Except the flavors were more complex and smooth. I had the strawberry white wine 4 * for this one- white satin. Â Bought a bottle so I can continue to reminisce about my college (underage, brilliant) drinking days.
Brut sparkling white -eh
Cute names for the wines. Generally  all palatable. Cute idea of making labels for a wine you've created or you can put a custom label on a bottle of wine they've already made (great gift idea or party favors). Nice staff and welcoming. You'll have to bring your own party, patrons are nice but not wino-lucious like in Temecula.
I'm a fan of the wine tailor- cute place, nice people, good reds. I'm not much of a fruit wine fan, so I cannot comment much on that, other then, if you enjoy fruit wines, try this place, they have a large selection and they are always adding something new.
My favorite reds are- Big Daddy Red and Cabalicious
Try this place!
Although the Wine Tailor's charming milieu is exceptional for the IE, and the friendly staff are just dandy, my palate wasn't overly turned on by the wines. Of course, my opinion would probably change if I ever get a chance to bottle my own wine there. I'm sure that's tons of fun... just sucks that they don't actually make their own wine (boo, franchises!) I suppose that kind of defeats the purpose of bottling your own wine, though. Meh.
If i were 10-15 years older I'd probably love this place. (No offense, mom and dad. ha.) I'd even buy one of their rhinestone studded 'how merlot can you go' (or whatever they say) tees. Gotta keep it classy, yo.
We come here monthly to pick up our wine club selections and enjoy some free wine tasting. Always a good mix of reds and whites and usually at least one sweet wine and/or champagne. They make a sangria that we first tasted at the wine festival that we buy here all the time. Recommended.
Review Source:My boyfriend and I visited sometime in 2009, and tried their free tasting. Â I grabbed a brochure about their Wine Tailor Club (membership type plan). I signed up for a membership for Christmas last year as a gift for my boyfriend. Each month I get to go pickup my pre-selected wine and I get discounts on other wine that I give as gifts. It is fun to try out new ones each time I visit, because I am by no means a wine expert.
The place is very comfortable and the staff is friendly. Mike always remembers my name when I come in, even though I am usually only there once a month.
We stumbled upon The Wine Tailor on a Friday night when we saw the "Wine Tasting" sign. We've loved it ever since. You can't beat 6 tastings for $5! Â We became members that night and now we get a free bottle of premium wine every month. We also can go in any day and get free wine tastings with our membership. We happened to stop in two Friday's ago and they were giving free 10 minute chair massages! This place is great and the patio makes it even better!
Review Source:I have been here twice for wine tasting. The first time was part of their Lady's Night event and it was a nice local evening out with my girls. We came back just for wine tasting and the guy serving wine was so friendly without being intrusive at all. They have cute knick knacks and shirts to coo over and buy once you're buzzed on a glass of wine. The almond champagne was delish. Only con is the place is pretty small, but you could say it adds to the ambiance.
