Love the beer and automosphere. Most of the people who work here are friendly and are quick on their feet. As for the beer, amazing! maybe more then 100 different types. The food, well you can order from outside and they deliver for free. For seating, well theres inside and out both very comfortable and a very live atmosphere.
Review Source:For me the best time to go to this place is during the week after work. Â Why? Because its a really nice hangout that isn't too loud at that time. Â Come here on a night on a weekend and you'll barely hear yourself, and you'll also struggle to get a drink within a reasonable time. Â Still they have a great beer selection...but its not the best in the world, but it may be the best in Florida. Â It's a decent enough place, but the prices are somewhat inflated due to it's focused importing efforts.
Review Source:While WoB does have a substantial selection of beers, the inflated prices and terrible service simply do not make me want to return. The bartenders are disinterested and more concerned with socializing with each other then actually helping customers. Â This is a beer bar. There is no food, there are no cocktails to make. It should not take 15 minutes to retrieve a round of BEERS from a COOLER. The staff here truly does not seem to care whether their customer comes back. They would do well to remember that they are not the only craft beer bar in the area and there are other establishments that treat their customers as if they actually WANT to serve them.
Review Source:Stopped in here after visiting the Renaissance Festival. When you bring your ticket you get a free beer. Just like all the World of Beers I have visited they have a great selection of beers. I was a little disappointed that several beers on their menu they were currently out of. The bartender was very nice and helpful. I also liked that you were able to order food from one of the nearby places and they would deliver to you.
Review Source:What can you say, a crapload of beers. Â A bunch on tap and a dizzying menu of bottles. Â Â Perhaps not the most inexpensive (the draft beer specials were around 4 but most beers were 6 or 7). Â Â If you go, sit outside. Â Inside is nothing special. Â Outside if it's nice is great although its where the smokers are.
Also, you can order food from a lot of the places in this complex (i think they will even deliver. Â Except for Scarfones pizza is across the street..so you can just call and order, then walk over, get it and bring it back to w.o.b, and voila, pizza and brew!)
BEER. So much of it!
Living in a city with zero chains, I've learned to only look for local pubs and hole-in-the-wall places. So I was skeptical about this franchise. But after my first visit to the West Palm WOB during my winter break, I was convinced. Then I tried this location on a Wednesday night... Half off for college students?!? This was love.
I arrived later than my friends. They had found a large, quiet table with lounge chairs on the side of the building. Perfect for catching up on girl talk, not so perfect for service. I had to go inside for my drink since the server didn't come to check on the table. But the selection of beers and the half-off special warrant 5 stars.
Hubs wanted me to check this place out, so I was all for it even though neither of us are beer fans. When you are seated you will be given a menu, but if you ask for the big menu, you will be given a thick list of international beers! Given the fact that they have Filipino beer I liked this place a little bit more! :)
We sat at the bar and had our blueberry beers and listened to the live band playing upstairs above us. Everyone is relaxed, drinking and chatting up a storm, and Grandma is dancing her ass off about 5 feet away from us. What a great time! If you are looking for a place to chill out and relax and you don't mind loud music this is the place for you. If I were a beer drinker World of Beer would definitely be the spot for me; but champagne and mojitos will always have my heart!
A good pub by my place and little out west finally ! A sick variety of beers and great specials everyday of the week whether it be ladies night on Thursday or my preferred choice Wednesday "College" Â night half off all draft beers with college ID, which they usually have around 20 on tap. Ladies night could be better with specials bc it's only on "select" drafts and wines. Last time I was there two of the selected drafts didn't work on ladies night. Manager should I chosen another two but hey we all don't think in a smart business sense.
They have nice lounge chairs and service is good. They don't serve food but they also don't mind you eating in there as the local restaurants regularly stop by with menus to order from them and they'll even bring it to sometimes!
The live band is great but man it's freakin loud in there when they're playing that if you try to have a conversation or pick up a lady you gotta do it outside or you'll voice will be shot tomorrow.
I don't know about you all but I have a problem with payin $9 for a beer then $1 tip (for the excellent pour of the very knowledgable bar staff) to make a grand total of... $10 FOR 1 BEER!!! No ladies nights, $1 off for afternoon happy hour..big deal! That's why we come occasionally, not regularly. It doesn't look like they are hurting for business tho, this place gets packed!
Review Source:We came here for a friend's birthday. Â Service was good and quick. Â I expected way more beer varieties though with a name "World of Beer". Â I guess the live music made up for it. If you are hungry make sure you eat somewhere else, as they only serve drinks here. Maybe that's why I don't like this place so much.
Otherwise, all the floors are super sticky from all the beer that has been spilled on the floor.
Lives up to the name
The strongest to the most fruity beers are available, that menu is the yellow pages of brew and might swallow you if don't know a thing about beer but the staff will help you find a match.
Live band is cool, nice selection of cover songs. It's not a great place to catch a game due to lack of seating and lack of TVs.
No they dont serve their own food, which is kind of smart because filling up on beer fills up their registers, but they'll order out for you, the best and quickest delivery option is Direct from Philly, cheesesteaks/wings/fries, if you order anything else its quite the rookie move.
They dont brew their own beer but if your craving a particular beer you cant find elsewhere it's a good bet they'll have it, and they might even have it on tap.
It's not as good as Funky Buddha, Abbey in South Beach, or Yardhouse, but it's the best in Coconut Creek and that surrounding area.
Here's the deal- if I lived in the Coconut Creek area I'd be all ape sh*t about this place. Â The beer selection is very impressive & it's a cool place to hang out. Â I've had some very good times at World of Beer.
Unfortunately, I live in Fort Lauderdale and after a 30 minute trek to Coconut Creek, WoB seriously loses some of it's mystique. I've been here about 5 or 6 times and it's hard for me to rave about it like the other reviewers. Frankly, I've found the lack of seating, high prices, abundance of killed kegs on the menu, lack of food and hit or miss service to be really noticeable when your drive is costing you a quarter tank of gas. Â
If you're a local, I would highly recommend World of Beer even if it's just to check it out. Â However, if you're driving a distance like me, I would suggest lowering your expectations a tad.
Hands down the most overwhelming bar you'll go to, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. They literally have every beer imaginable and while it doesn't have that authentic, intimate feeling that a typical bar has, it does offer up some rather impressive items on draft and in bottle form.
The service inside is not that good, in fact it's pretty bad. I would recommend sitting outside only because there seems to be more attention given to the tables. The beer is reasonably priced, though some imports and Belgium ales are a little higher than they should be. No food option here but you can order from any place in the Promenade or even Direct From Philly which delivers free of charge.
200th review!
Well, after much thought of what my 200th review should be about I decided on World of Beer. Why you ask? Well as of yesterday I have 500 reasons why. Yes my friends, I finally eclipsed the 500 beer mark at WOB. I mean c'mon where can you go and drink 500 DIFFERENT beers. That's what makes this place special along with the friendly staff. Â As I explained to Alex who is the Assistant GM, my quest to drink different beers (especially ones I don't like) ended yesterday. 500 is plenty for me...lol.
I want to thank WOB for opening my eyes on what good beer smells and tastes like. If you adore beer as I do, you would be fool not stop by and check this place out. As I fade in the Coral Springs sunset with a cold Miller Lite in my hand, World of Beer I salute you! Remember to tell them Dan sent you and Stay Thirsty! Â Lol ( been dying to type that)
Do you love beer?
Do you REALLY love beer?
Are you sure? Â Because that's all this place has. Â No food. Â I think there's some wine for the people who bitch about how beer tastes like pee but are clueless to knowing how complex, artful, flavorful and amazing beer can be. Â (I'm sorry, I tend to rhyme when I'm angry.)
Anyway, if you're looking to sample beer from... just about everywhere, come to World of Beer! Â Or WoB. Â They have a wide variety of beers on tap that is constantly changing plus they have bottled beer from all over the world. Â There is seriously no food here so if you wanted to munch and drink you are SOOL, my friend... but you could always go to one of the surrounding restaurants and order food to bring back to your WoB table.
The service here is alright. Â I can't say it's amazing, nor is it bad. Â It can be hard some times to get a waitress when it's really busy, especially during the weekend or on Wednesdays (it's 1/2 off draft beers for college students on Wed).
Basically, if you love beer... you will love this place. Â It can be expensive on the days when there are no specials but again, if you love beer that will be okay with you to spend that much on occasion. Â I wouldn't say this is an every day place to go since it can be pricey.. but hey, if you got the money, sure why not? Â Go crazy, come every day.
World of Beers are popping up like dandelions on an unattended summer lawn. Â It seems like one is opening every other month in the US. Â This location, the Coconut Creek one, is the first one that came to South Florida.
It is very sports bar like in the theme and quite wide open. Â The tables are mostly towards the walls and this is probably a good idea based on how packed it can get in there on weekends and event nights. Â I tend to go when there is no events going on.
Their selection is quite large with probably the largest bottle selection you will ever find in a bar. Â The taps tend to rotate as well, always bringing in something new and exciting.
Service can be very hit or miss. Â It will vary almost every time I find. Â It depends how crowded the place is along with who is working. Â Some bartenders seem like deer in headlights when it gets busy and don't notice waiting people outside of their immediate eye sight. Â And some just don't simply know much about the beers and questioning clients are stuck with information that is inaccurate or none at all. Â But there are people there that know their stuff and are good.
The prices are also really all over the place. Â Some drafts are a great deal while others are way too high, $9 for Well's Banana Bread? Â I see that typically for $5 or $6 max at other bars. Â It sort of seems like they place the beer names on the floor then throw pieces of paper with prices on them into a ceiling fan and where they land is the price.
But while these may seem like slights at WOB I think what they are doing is a good thing. Â They are helping introduce craft beer to new people. Â A group of friends may be like, "Hey, want to try this new World of Beers place?" and be absolutely hooked on good beer. Â If it means less people drinking macro I can't knock the thing. Â If I'm ever in the neighborhood I can't not stop in for at least one beer.
Holy Beer Selection! Â
Some of my friends from Brooklyn came to town. I came here to meet them for a few drinky drinks and listen to some music. Â We grabbed a table outside, and the waitress came up to us right away. Â The service was great and they have a huge selection of beer. Â Overall, this place was a lot of fun.
BEER!!!!
Amazing selection of beer. Tons of taps and bottle options. This place is definitely a beer lovers dream come true. During the weekends it gets pretty packed and service becomes slow.
Keep in mind when you drink here that most of the beers have a higher alcohol level than most beers you're probably used to drinking. One or two of these babies is all you need for that toasty feeling.
Also note that this place does not serve food, but the restaurants that surround it are happy to deliver to you at no additional charge.
What can I say? If you love beer, then this place is for you! Whether you are a beer aficionado or a novice there is something for everyone here. It has a very laid, back casual atmosphere yet bustling and busy at the same time. They carry over 500 different beers from all across the globe, and the staff is very knowledgeable about their product. You can even try samples if you are unsure of what to order. The only downside to this place is that they do not serve food, but there are restaurants around it that you can order from and bring back with you.
My recommendations would be the Delerium Tremens and the Widmer Nelson.
They also have a loyalty card program, which is pretty awesome. You earn a point for every different beer that you try and then can cash in those points for prizes.
On a side note, I would like to say that I am annoyed with Patrick L. for once again stealing my review thunder, lol. I think he woke up extra early just so he could write this review first.
Well, I finally made it to World of Beers, and to say the least, I was underwhelmed. First off, the place was retardedly crowded, it was a Friday night, but wasn't expecting it to be zoo'd like that. There was no outside seating available and the bar was at least a few deep, everywhere. Luckily, we found a super nice server, who sorted us out with some menus. Â And here's where we were sort of puzzled... For a place called "World" of Beers, I expected an insane selection, many of which I'd never heard of and could hopefully garner some tasty, new experiences from. The menu had approx. 30-40 beers, both on tap and in bottles-- most of which I knew straight away. Now you can't go wrong with a Cigar City Maduro, so I ordered one, and was like, okay, cool-- but I was expecting much more.
Now, we posted up in a corner near the side of the bar, and service was not a problem all night, the one bright spot. From a distance, across the room, I saw a cooler, but I just assumed they were duplicates of what was on the menu, so why bother-- not to mention the glimmering sea of douchiness between it and I, seemed pretty insufferable, so I didn't mosey over to have a gander. I suppose this was partially my bad, as now, from what I'm reading in other reviews, there must have been heaps of different beers, wish I'd known. Maybe it said something like that on the menu and I missed it, but nobody told us, nor pointed out the fact that if you didn't like what was on the menu, check the cooler for hundreds of others. Oh, well...
Now, maybe it's just me, but drinking craft beer, and supporting craft brewers is sort of an independent ethos for people who appreciate anything other than the big 3. And somehow, a massive, franchised space with drunkards toting Blue Moons with orange wedges on their glasses (as if somehow that's an off-the-beaten path beer), just doesn't wreak of a cool place to hang out and enjoy some good beer.
If you want to drink your craft beer at a place that doubles as a pick-up joint, with a bunch of people who really don't give a shit about the beer, while listening to a cover band butchering the Toadies "Possum Kingdom," well then, World of Beers might just be for you. My recommendation, Total Wine create your own 6-pack. I'll not be running back to World of Beer anytime soon.
Sure, I'd seen the beer list online. Obviously, this place has a lot of beer. My only unresolved question here was if it would be a place at which I'd like to hang out - does it have character, does it emit that nice chill beer vibe? Or is it going to feel like a sterile, corporate chain, for all intents and purposes, a non-food-serving Yard House?
I'd tried to come here once before - I was two hours too early on a Friday afternoon. Based on that initial walk-by, I was pretty sure I'd place this in the "meh, too chain-like, too corporate." This *is* a chain, after all, and it is located within a New Suburbia-style shopping mall that I'd previously judged to be not very interesting.
Fast forward to Saturday night - we had decided to use World of Beer as a pre-gaming location for a concert we were attending up in Boca. As we rolled up, I could see that this was different from the first time I'd tried to come here. The place was airy, open and inviting, with a pretty good crowd both inside and out just chilling and enjoying some beers. Though it appeared quite crowded at first glance, there was still ample seating either at the bar inside, or outside. We chose the bar, so I can't comment on the table service that other reviewers have taken issue with.
I have to say, it's pretty cool. It's open and bustling enough that I nearly forgot I was sitting way out in suburban West Broward, I almost felt like I was in some happening downtown district. A band was getting ready to play upstairs, as we were leaving. It's not just another Yard House, I think it has a better beer-vibe than that.
As you'd expect, the beer selection is excellent. It doesn't boast as many of the "limited, rare" beers that a place like Abraxas in South Beach does, but there are still plenty of interesting bottle and draft options - plenty of drafts, actually, as the draft menu takes up both sides of one page. Anyone from a seasoned beer geek to a total beer noob should be able to find something to drink - if you can't, you're either entirely insufferable or you're not trying.
World of Beer serves no food, but they have menus from the mall's restaurants, some of which deliver and some that just offer takeout service. Either way, it's pretty easy. I called Scarfones and ordered a sandwich - 20 minutes later I simply walked across the street to pick it up, and brought it back to the bar.
The only complaint I have was that the men's room faucet didn't work. I dumped a bunch of soap into my hands, stuck them under the faucet, and...nothing. I tried desperately to get the sensor to recognize, but ultimately there was nothing I could do but wait, with soapy hands, for the dude in the disabled stall to finish his business so I could use the presumably-working faucet in there. He took a long time, I was about ready to use the ladies' room. Oh well.....next time, I'll test out the water flow before hitting the liquid soap.
If I lived closer, this place would surely be in my regular rotation.
They have a million beers. Â Some times they only have 900,000. Â
Seriously, they have the best selection around. Â They have knowledgeable bartenders, but many of their servers aren't too educated on the frothy beer they're serving. Â
The place gets packed and can get slow. Â Some of the bartenders are better than others. Â It's best to know what you want and be ready to order on busy times, that will keep the brews flowing. Â Otherwise, you could dry out waiting.
It's fun when they have bands on weekends, as they have them on a stage overlooking the crowd, so it doesn't cut down on drinking space. Â Plus the sports viewing there is excellent. Â The outdoor seating is great, but you then have the server issue. Â Best bet is to hunker down at the bar early with a solid bartender, get to know them and they'll take great care of you all night.
Benjamin Franklin once said, "Beer is living proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Â He was so right, and I think he would have loved World of Beer. Â
I have been here twice now, and the knowledge the bartenders have about the hundreds of beers sold here from all over the world is amazing. Â They have about 40 or so beers on tap, of all different flavors from different regions. Â Also hundreds of beers in bottles that you can take home in mix and match six packs. You also get a bit of discount if you are taking it to go,
If you don't know too much about beer, but want to learn or try different types, trust the beer guru, Rob.  He is a beer genius who you can trust to pick the best selection of beers and will even take time to explain to you why he picked each one and is a living  Wikipedia on beer.
Not a huge beer fan but decided to go with friends to check out there grand opening. The location is cool. However, upon arriving it was a little too packed and not enough servers. We found a table outside and waited patiently for a waiter. Almost an hour later we got beer menu's. Since I didn't know much about beers the waiter suggested I try a fruit flavor beer. I gave it a try and was a little surprise that I actually liked it. It is not the best beer but I was definitely able to drink it with out gagging.
After finishing up our drinks we again waited patiently for the waiter to come by to offer us more drinks or at least get the tab so we could leave. Good thing we had good company and didn't mind waiting as long as we did because it took almost another 30mins to get the tab.
Over all I was impressed with the beer selection but not impressed with the service. Not sure if I will be returning.
I think any beer lover would would definitely like this place. Hundreds and hundreds of beers (mostly bottle) and some good selections in draft. Servers are knowledgeable and are good making recommendations. But they are SLOW!
We went for the Opening Celebration and it was packed. Still, they should have prepared with enough staff. Whether they did or no, we waited more than half an hour to get a menu. Then another half hour for them to come back and get our order. Thankfully drinks were brought out fairly quick but, when it was time to leave, you guessed it, another half hour to close our tab.
One good thing is that, since World of Beer doesn't offer food, they paired with some of the restaurants around the area (at least for the event) to serve their food while enjoying the beers.
Will need to go on a normal business day to see if service is faster.
I went here on a Friday evening and it was packed. Lots of "jersey shore" type of kids there.. not particularly my thing, but I ventured inside with my group of friends anyway.
We found a small spot at the end of the bar for the 6 of us to order drinks. Heidi, the bartender we flagged, was AMAZING. She gave me samples of fruity beers so i could find one I liked since I'm not a beer drinker. Success! Unfortunately, this is where trouble strikes. The absolute rudest bar manager (at least I assume that is what she was, as she certainly wasn't helping any patrons) in history cuts us off in mid order and gets bitchy with our bartender because she didn't like the spot we were ordering from with her. I don't know her name, but she is the one covered in tattoos. If you go here - avoid. Very very bad taste in my mouth from her with this being our visit at this establishment. Â Even if the bartender isn't in the right spot to take orders, you let them FINISH the order with the customer and then move on. Â You don't get all bitchy and cut off money coming in.
We walk outside to leave after being treated so rudely, but Heidi came out after us and took our drink orders again. I can't rave enough about how nice and accommodating she was after having to deal with such a horrible experience inside.
Heidi was able to get us to an open table (rarity there with how packed it was) and was constantly right on top of our orders. She is what made that visit a 3 star instead of a 1.
Lots of beer here, but much of it was unavailable on tap due to them running out. Heidi gave great suggestions when something we did want was not on tap at that moment. Thank you, Heidi, for salvaging our evening here! Seriously.
I probably wont come back here. At least not on a weekend night. I just couldn't get the right vibe from here at all that night we visited.
Maybe if I was not so excited about it I would not have been so let down.
Good Points:
500 Beers
Bad Points:
Service was bad. There were about an equal number of Staff Sunday afternoon as customers. No one talked to us or helped us. They just kept walking past us like we were not there. I had to ask 3 times to get the bar where we sat cleaned. It took about 10 minutes to get our first drink after we sat down.
Beer Knowledge was non-existent. I had a few questions about a couple different beers. The Beer-tenders really did not know. There was a guy sitting next to me ordered a Chimay. They tried to put it in a pint glass, I ordered a St. Sebastians. They tried to do the same thing. At least know what glass the beer goes in. I can get over not knowing much about beer, but know how to serve it.
The place was dirty. (see comment about bar space earlier) And so where the glasses. After getting the correct glass for the Belgium ale there was lipstick marks all over the glass.
$15 to join the loyalty club. We have to pay to be part of your club? I have joined Taco Mac (Atlanta) and Mellow Mushroom (Delray). They are both free. And give you discounts after reaching 100 beers (in Taco Macs case they give you a bigger glass) You get a coozy or a shirt for joining so I thought "Ok maybe it is to off set the cost of the merchandise." I was not given a choice and handed a 50 cent coozy that looked fairly worthless.
The beer was warm. I thought that maybe the just stocked the first beer I ordered. However, a totally separate beer I ordered was just as warm. Now I know that different beers should be a different temperatures, but you should set the temp in the coolers to the lowest degrees of beer temperature you have in that cooler. It is South Florida. The beer will warm up. Trust me on this one.
There are other comments about the seating, food, etc so I will not mention those but they are all true.
Final note:
The place is new, and I did pay $15 for the club. So even though it is 1/2 an hour out of my way I will be back. I hope these comments are read by the manager and improvements are made. I really would like to look forward to going and getting a beer at the proper temperature served the way it was meant to be served in a clean glass. Â Good Luck World of Beer I am rooting for you.
I knew about the grand opening of World Of Beer Coconut Creek about 4 months ago and I've been drooling over the aspect of having over 500 different selections of beer to choose from and here was my experience at the grand opening.
1. It's a man cave : Flat screen tv's and beer paraphernalia adorn the walls, bar stools, an awesome selection of cold beer on tap and in bottles from all over the world.
2. Loyalty Club: Pay the 15 dollars and join the loyalty club. You earn 1 point per different beer and upon getting to certain levels of points you can earn things like tshirts, an engraved plaque posted up at the bar, and even an evening where your tab is paid for / an all expenses paid trip to the GABF. You can even track all the different beers that you've had. (The card works at every WOB location).
3. The beer selection : Rotating taps, and a bevy of bottles to choose from: American craft beers, belgians, imports, you name it, you can probably find it. While there aren't a whole lot of "beer geek" rare bottles, you can find something you'll definitely enjoy and leave happy.
Bad points: Lack of seating is an issue : A couple of benches and booths, and areas along the bar, and a patio section. I spent most of the night standing (kind of like a nightclub to include the loud music). Food - There is no food on premise, but you have the option of ordering in from the shops that are in the promenade plaza.
Overall: Great value on beer, amazing selection, decent service, with a few setbacks, but for a place that just opened a few hours ago, I was pretty impressed. A must visit place if you like beer :)
