Place is small.. good banda / norteno music. Very clean. My only problem was the bartender. There is only one bartender for the whole place and he took forever to get drinks even though there was hardly anyone at the bar. But my biggest problem was that the bartender took even longer to give me change back when i paid with cash. I was half way done with my drink by the time he gave me my change, I had almost forgot that I needed change!
There are not that many people who go there. I went on a Saturday night, got there at 11:30 and the place was not full at all.
Oh yea, when the club was over, there was a cop car parked right outside..so be careful!
I went here for my first time last night. It was an ok experience. Drinks a little much for the place (in my opinion) but the groupos that were there played well. I had already seen one of them before so it was familiar. Cover was $35 because of the groups that were here, which I thought was a little much as well. I guess all in all it wasn't that bad. I would prob go again, but in a bigger group. Oh and the place is really small, so not much room to dance. I kept getting pushed around lol. I guess don't knock it till you've tried it :-)
Review Source:Never been to a Mexican Banda club before. Â Very fun and interesting. Â Very daunting going in at first since you'll feel like you're no longer in the US, but everyone is very friendly. Â It's cool watching folks dancing to a live band and then switch to full on hip hop club mode in between bands. Â The main downside (and this is a huge one) is that the place isn't that big so there isn't much seating or even much space to comfortably stand if you're just there to drink and people watch. Â You have to buy bottle service to get any chance at a table.
Review Source:Cool Mexican music, loud, lively and entertaining. Most of the music had the usual poom poom poom sounds to it, but once in awhile, they would mix it up like poom poom....poom poom.
And this one song had poooom poooom. Yah neat stuff. ;)
Anyways, friendly staff, live dj and armed security on hand. I was here just to kill some time after an ok steak in Chula Vista, so I wanted to make my road trip down here worthwhile. So I ordered a couple of Bay Breezes and just listened to varying ritmo musica on hand. It was about 9pm and I was the only one there, but slowly and surely they came uno by uno.
Still overall, by the time I left, it was still a relatively empty place. Either way, I enjoyed my drinks, got to listen to some cool music all with no cover charge either and left with a little more energy than coming in.
Bidi bidi bom bom....bidi bidi bom bom!!!!
i came on the same night merrily and charlie did, so i'm pretty much the in the same boat. but i recently came again on a saturday night, and found it was pretty much the same. the place was EMPTY at 1am, which is definitely more a fault of the location than the quality. but, because it's pretty slow, the place is great if you have more than a few people with you. the sound system is great, but the solid ipod-opaque color of the place tends to put me into a daze. when i go to "clubs" i usually stick with beer, since other places water down their water. so i was a little dissapointed to find that all they served was 5 kinds of domestics. but that being said, my buddy ordered me a cocktail, and it was a fair amount of booze (why he ordered anything with hypnotiq... i just don't know)
but i'll be honest, any place where we can smoke on a couch outside is a place i'll return to. and i am totally cool with just sitting on top of those couples making-out.
Xo Lounge is very very nice. The lighting is perfect. The seats, the music and everything is nice. Especially when Edgartronic and KidWonder(Disc-O) are spinning. I heard they are doing a monthly at XO Lounge. Should be great.
Xo lounge also has a smoking patio which is PERFECT for smokers. SOOOOO Good. Now I can drink and smoke my cigaret without having to leave my drink at the bar hoping nobody messes with it. This place is brand new.... Local.... Nice.
Drinks are a bit pricey but the place is fantastic. You should check this place out.
This place is great for Bonita, but since it was the soft opening, I would like to update this review in a few months.
Crisp sound system, funky lights, and plenty of seating make this place worth checking out if you're in the area. Spacious dance floor, too. There is also a "VIP" section and a large covered/semi-enclosed smoking patio with couches. Couples making out on couches may or may not be there when you visit.
I would especially go back if a certain DJ Edgartronic was spinning. That guy rocked the house.
Ballin'. I like to try out a place like this every once in a while, and for a younger me it was actually right up my alley. I got searched at the door which was fairly weird considering I might have mistaken it for a red lobster with bouncers, given the strip mall location. It was probably the cleanest bar I've been to in a while, like walking into a hospital waiting room or something. I must be used to some pretty shitty bars though.
I came for the musical radness of Edgartronic and it didn't disappoint. The sound system, lighting, and dance floor are all upscale. They have bottle service and comfortable lounge areas for groups. It's mostly a liquor place and the mixed drink I had was alright. I'd probably up the review if I came back with a group and wasn't such a judgmental hipster. Good music and some neat people made this place fun though. This review kind of sucks
