Finally got a chance to check out Yesterdays and can see the accuracy of the previous reviews. Â It's a bar that has pool tables and other types of tables that allows indoor smoking. Â
Our group found a table in a comfortable corner, and were able to set up and break an 8 ball game in seconds and might have played 10 or so games.
Waitresses (3) of them, attending about 9 tables and a bar all had one thing in common, they never smiled. Â They also knew nothing about beer. Â I asked a simple question "Do you have any German Beer" and they did not know. Â
When one of our friends entered to join us a waitress came up to him like a beeline and told him he had to turn his hat the other direction with bill in front instead of back, which was very uncool. Â
The tables are in good shape and appear to be about $9 an hour. Confused looking waitresses that know nothing about beer will keep coming by way and more often near midnight as to when we stayed. Â
For pool players, they have no hand chalk. Â
Ordered a beer and paid in cash to the waitress. Â 15 minutes later it never arrived so I went to the bar. Â The single male working asked me if I gave my money to a "chick with a big rack or the other one". Â
As I was there with my wife and friends I wasn't looking at a woman's breasts to determine whom she was. Â Bartender was obviously drunk. Â
And it smells like smoke in here.
Terrible service! I have never been outright insulted, TWICE, before I even order! They insinuated and outright said that they were afraid we were going to walk out without paying twice. So rude. Atmosphere is a dive. I asked for the special of the day and they replied what's on tap is 2 dollars. So I ordered two beers from the tap, too bad they failed to mention that non-domestics didn't count and I wound up paying over 7 bucks when I thought it was going to be 4 dollars. I wont be returning.
Review Source:So it can be smokey...that's the difference between bars in College Station (smoking ordinance) & Bryan. Don't visit everyday, and you should be fine. This place is "Off-Northgate" which means some townies call it home. Great kitchen specials lunch and pre-dinner. Just your typical fried delights. Buts it's main attraction is their friendly staff (table service if it's not too busy) and the huge selection of pool tables, dartboards and shuffleboard. Great place to escape the sorority herd and popped collars that like to crowd up Northgate.
Review Source:Awful. Just awful. Its a pool hall, smells like a pool hall/bar. ALWAYS come out reeking of smoke. It is never really crowded, but I chalk that up to Yesterdays not being the type of place the average person in this town would go to. The service is POOR. I ordered a Tom Collins and got a gin and tonic without them telling me they couldn't make Tom Collins. They do have waitresses, but they never have a minute for you so you are always without a drink. Only up side: decent bar food...hot and greasy. Oh and btw, the wait staff (females) are NOT attractive.
Review Source:If you are ever sitting around and you find yourself thinking, "Man, I wish I smelled more like a smoky bar," this is the place for you.
I went here a few times with some folks from grad school, before I learned what craven little bigots they were. It was a normal pool hall/bar, except for the extraordinary amounts of  smoke.
I'd give one star, but they earned two, if for no other reason that the knowledge that as long as Yesterday's stayed open, the aforementioned craven bigots would never accidentally discover the other bars in town and force me to go somewhere else.
When working in the B/CS area I spend a decent amount of time at Yesterday's. Â I really love this pool hall/pub. Â Their pool tables are well kept, and the price is good. They have 4 steel tip dart boards inside, and 4 outside which is unique. Â They also have shuffleboard and a selection of board games and chess pieces which is awesome! Â The staff here are really friendly and attentive. Â This is my favorite pool hall in texas.
