Had a great crab,Italian, Reuben and a vegi which I was a bit nervous about after reading a review, but it was very tasty lots of pesto. Â We all had salads that were very fresh. Â The place was very clean a big thing for me especially the bathrooms. Â Prices were great, wine was good too lots of Washington options. Â Zinful has a great atmosphere and the little historic district is fun not much to do but hopefully they will get more going on soon, I really think that zinful is a hidden treasure. Â I think if you are a baby boomer you will love this place!
Review Source:I can't think of a single thing concerning Zinful that would translate into a rating of less than five stars! I really enjoyed our lunch this week.
To start with, our friend's artwork, Jenny Rieke, is on exhibit at Zinful for the rest of this month or so. Wonderful, beautiful pieces that caught our eyes immediately upon entering. Jenny's exhibit is based upon re-using found materials: conveyor belts, pieces of wooden furniture, cassette tape ribbons, cardboard, tea leaves, buttons, fabric, and more. The beauty created out of stuff that most of us would discard or ignore is unbelievably happy to look at. It tells a story, one story at least, of the lives of many of us...gone through the wringer; used-up, perhaps; tired and worn; until Someone rescues us and brings out of the dark closet or trash heap and makes something beautiful of us.
The atmosphere, service, food and drink at Zinful is a great complement to our friend's art. We were seated immediately, although we found it hard to break away from looking at the art pieces. The two paninis that we ordered were delicious and reasonably priced, well presented. Our waitress was friendly, smiling, eager to please, eager to suggest other community events and opportunities that would enrich our experience.
They offered a free carafe of French-pressed coffee, made with beans freshly roasted by Blue Stilly...smooth, deep flavor. I enjoyed several cupfuls and still didn't empty the carafe!
The usual soft drinks were available, but I was in the mood to splurge and treat my appetite to something new, something richly flavored to top-off the delicious sandwiches and coffee. I chose Warre's Optima Tawny Port, and it was fantastic! Small glass, a bit on the expensive side (OK, solidly on the expensive side!) but it was worth it. Deep, intense flavor of dark chocolate and sweet fruit, very smooth.
We left with a pound of freshly roasted coffee beans and a very nice set of bedsheets. Bedsheets?? Yep! They had a tasteful display of Egyptian cotton bedsheets, various sizes and colors, at very reasonable prices! Crazy! Couldn't pass them up!
We'll be back!
I'm a regular at Zinful and want to share how excellent the service is there. The servers even remember my name and my friends names when we come in. The atmosphere is relaxing and there's always new art from local artists to see on the walls. The food, and of course the wine, is outstanding.
Review Source:We came here for lunch, not for wine. We were driving through on a road trip and honestly didn't expect to get good food in this town. We were pleasantly surprised. The paninis tasted good, particularly mine which was the veggie with pesto. The atmosphere was very nice, as was the staff.
Review Source:Maybe this is a good place for wine? Â I came for lunch, its nice inside, spacious and the atmosphere is inviting.
The food is overpriced and terrible. Â I ordered their veggie panini and it was old ingredients with no flavor, the side salad was a grape and a strawberry. Â $10, yikes! Â I opted out of taking my food home, it was that tasteless.
My parents ordered other panini sandwiches, we all felt the same. Â WIll not come again for the food, it was a waste of time.
We were passing through on our way from Portland to Glacier National Park and needed a good lunch. We found this place on Yelp and it sounded good, so we dropped in. We had many hours to drive still, so we didn't have any wine. But we did have paninis and they were absolutely delicious! I would love to come back here sometime for wine.
By the way, this restaurant uses Facebook for their website, which Yelp doesn't allow in the website listings. So if you're looking for the menu, it is here: <a href="/redir?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fpages%2FZINFUL-Panini-Grill-Wine-Bar%2F111441516616&s=5501aefddf273338e7f177d41f2fdc2c28f0efa6818a03992fd253bd15374c69" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.facebook.com…</a>
The garlic dip was great and so was the large cheese platter. We went on a Friday night at 4pm thinking it would be busy because of a show happening at the Toyota center. Wrong, we were the only table in there for 40 minutes. Service was good, but it should be since we were the only customers! The sandwiches were nothing special. And the wine selection wasn't that great either. But the atmosphere was cool and the sangria was great. Probably won't go back for food, Just apps and wine.
Review Source:This is a great little wine bar tucked away amongst dive bars and shops in Downtown Kennewick. The wine selection is fantastic, the service wonderful, and the food is a limited, but good, panini selection.
Zinful is open for lunch and dinner and is rarely ever packed. Stop in on downtown art walk nights for conversation and vino!
I have been here a few times. Its a nice relaxing place with a great Washington State wine selection.
The building is beautiful with old brick Walls, exposed beams, dim lighting, nice art, the tables are attractive, cool wine barrels support the counter. It feels a little Seattleish :)
The wine is over priced to be sure. One I like is available at a local store for about $12.00, they charge $22.00. Big mark up.
The food is simple but good. Mostly sandwiches and salads.
The service depends on who is working. One gal is clearly better than the other.
Over all a great place to go if you want a nice mellow time.
Zinful has taken over Backbone Panini..... and it is excellent just like Backbone was ... basically the same decor and excellent entree panis are offered ....... Very relaxing place to enjoy a glass of wine and a delicous panini. The wine bar architecturally reminds me of a blend of various Walla Walla's restaurants (Grapefields, Backstage Bistro & Merchants Delicatessen). Pretty good selection of Washington state wines .... prices are fairly resonable. Panini's are delicious. I had The Mid Columbia: thinly sliced pastrami, melted provolone, pickled asparagus, red onion, roasted red pepper, spread with mild cayene ailoi sauce served on focaccia bread. My wife had grilled mushrooms and onions with pastrami on rye panini....delicious.... the grilled sandwiches are served with a choice of chips, potato salad, or mixed green salad with italian plum tomatoes, red onion & cucumber... choice of (5) different dressings ... very tasty and excellent presentation.
Review Source:I've been here twice. Â Once with girlfriends for dinner this past summer and yesterday with my mom for lunch.
The paninis, salads, and wine selection are good. Â The service is slow. Â Both times, there has just been one person working the front of house and one in the kitchen. Â I assume that is intentional to keep costs down.
I like the peanut butter dessert and would have ordered it again at lunch, but we had already waited 20 minutes from when our plates were cleared by the kitchen staff to when the server came by to say she'd be back with the check. Â Neither asked if we wanted dessert and I didn't feel like waiting 20 more minutes.
Everytime I drove by this place to check it out, it was closed, but Saturday night I got to try it out and I must say it was pretty awesome. Â We were the only ones there so that made me a little leary at first. Â My fears were quickly laid to rest by a friendly waitress.
We had wonderful, tasty panninis and a bottle of sparkiling reisling. Â Delicious! Â We had cheesecake for dessert from the Cheesecake factory and it was sooo delicious. Â
I would definitely go back there for their wine tasting events. Â
Call ahead for groups because it is not a large area. Â Also, get there before 10 pm because they are not open late!
I've been to Zinful twice - once for a bridal shower and once for an evening with girlfriends. Both times I experienced a tidy, hip atmosphere. The exposed brick walls give the place a nice "downtown" feel.
The wine selection is great. They do a nice job showcasing the Tri-Cities' local wineries. And their wine prices are on par (if not less than) the rest of the town.
The food is amazing - go hungry! The Paninis are huge...and delicious. Order the garlic dip appetizer. You won't regret it.
I will definitely be back to Zinful. Delicious food, amazing wine selection, hip atmosphere.
This place was pretty dope. Dope-a-lope as a matter of fact.
We stopped in here on our way to Whitefish, MT from San Jose. We'd never been to the downtown area of Kennewick, WA. It had a nice feel to the town. A little deserted though...
So, not to be harsh, but the food was a little weak. Good though. I think their main draw is probably their wine selection, which was pretty extensive-looking. They had a few sandwiches. They were tasty, the problem then? I got the wrong sandwich...
The server came out a couple minutes after dropping the food off and offered to give me the correct sandwich to make up for the mistake, which I declined, but when the bill came, it was full price even with a mistaken order.
Very strange.
Anyway, I'm sure this place gets real busy at night. But as we were there for lunch, really not much to say to that effect.
Another thing, there were these really weird paintings of these misshapen women in all sorts of cocktails in the bathroom. Thats worth a reduction in stars right there, but I can't really knock them for displaying a local artists work.
Anyway, I'd go there again, maybe when there's more time to enjoy it.
Hesitantly recommended
A great ambiance of Parisian cafe crossed with a wine country tasting room, Zinful provides a great atmosphere for lunch, dinner or an evening drink and dessert! They're panini are delicious and widely varied and complemented well by their selection of wines and beers. Their changing soup of the day always adds options to side dishes. Clean and well staffed
Review Source:Somewhere I read about a panini place downtown, but today I just chanced upon it after paying my KID bill. Superb interior of old brick and nicely appointed HVAC and lighting. Â Upscale seating, meaning tables and chairs were a little high like stools, making old heavy dudes like myself a little uncomfy to be so "hip,' hauling the big ol' butt up on the chair. Â Now then the food. Â Pricey sandwiches with one side dish for $9.99, refillable soft drinks for $1.99. Â Clearly, if you have to ask the price you shouldn't be in there. Â Nice photo artwork on the walls. Â Nice choice for sandwiches, and I opted for the Italian, with nice meats and olive/peppercini spread. Â Chose a salad as my side. Â Delicious--both things. Â Took a while to deliver the food, but lots to look at and groove with. Â I have at least 5 more sandwiches that look like I might like--so I have at least 5 more trips to check 'em out. Â I hope this place stays open--a breath of fresh air amongst the bars and tattoo parlors. Â If Zinful and Roxy can just hang in there......
Review Source:Nothing was more rewarding than finding this little wine bar in the heart of old town Kennewick, WA. Â You walk into a warm environment with wine barrel crate tables with unique chairs, concrete logo floors, dim lighting, perfect for a quiet lunch. We heard through the grape vine that this little place was great. Â We were still shocked though afterwards. Â WONDERFUL Panini's! Â So flavorful and tasty, it just made us want to lick our plates. Â Although, it is simple food, it was delicious and delivered with cheerfulness from our waitress.
If you are visiting the Tricities area, I would highly suggest stopping by for a wonderful glass of locally produced wine and a mouth watering Panini. Â You too will be pleasantly surprised!
