Well I love coming to the patio at 24 seconds, although the service can be hit or miss.  Last night, the restaurant was reserving tables for a party but there was no one using  them for at least 2 hours we were there. One gentleman said we could take their table but they had given their chairs away to other people.  So we grabbed a few chairs and the waitress from that section says rudely "you can't take the chairs from the reserved tables", but didn't offer us a seat.  I get the feeling that she was hoping that we would leave so she could reserve our table too.  Luckily the waitress for our section was much nicer and actually gave her customers folding chairs.  The food is okay, I had their veggie burger.  I would opt with fries instead of chips, especially their waffle fries.  There are specials during Tiger games too.
Review Source:Good for watching sports on their 1,289 TVs, or for enjoying the summertime on the rooftop. Â It's one of only 3 rooftop decks in the area (along with Social in B'Ham and Red Fox in Royal Oak), so it's definitely worth a try for that reason alone.
For the same reason, it definitely exhibits some of the calling cards of a douche-haven, but definitely less so than the other two rooftop spots (this is Berkley, after all), and really only on Friday or Saturday nights. Â The music is often a little loud, too, especially during lunchtime. Â I doubt many people are looking for a thumping scene at 1:00pm on a Sunday afternoon, but perhaps that's just me.
Nevertheless, the food is passable if you stick to the basics, and the bar on the rooftop really is a cool spot.
Looked up 24 Seconds on Yelp to go watch a Stanley Cup hockey game while visiting. Â Lots of TVs. Â Service was good; our server was not clingy, but was always around when we needed her and very friendly. Â Food was decent. Â Beer list was somewhat lengthy. Â Be careful with the Firehouse Nachos...they sting...twice.
Review Source:Its 3 stars all the way. Some things are better than others, but nothing to make me want to think that it has a higher mean than 3 stars.
Food is decent. Get some, its very good quality bar food. The deck during the summer time is the place to be in Berkley. The place is wired for sports, everywhere you turn, there is a TV.
The service has always been hit and miss. Some places can never find the best balance of everything and service has always been a lackluster here. Its also very much a local sports bar so you can have locals that had too much to drink become increasingly annoying. I'm sure I could've been one of those when I use to live down the street.
Overall, its not horrible or great. Just a watering hole with a sports theme.
Side notes, I have seen local sports and sports media "celebrities" here enjoying a drink... and its right next door to The Berkley Front bar.
My favorite thing about 24 Seconds is their rooftop. Â There are lots of tables and TVs up there to catch the game while enjoying a beautiful day/night and cold beer. Â I usually just have drinks here and like that they've added many more Michigan beers over time. Â I do like their Guiness chili and chicken tenders.
It's fun to come here any time of year. Â The inside has plenty of TVs and big screens. Â Just make sure to stop over this summer.
Tried out 24 Seconds for playoff football, so can't comment on the upstairs patio... but, TONS of TVs, Magic Hat #9 on draft, and I will never complain about a place that offers delicious waffle fries! Â The waitress was great, but didn't know what team's jersey I was wearing (at a sports bar)... Â Overall, can't complain, and will absolutely head back in warmer weather!
Review Source:We were killing time before a nearby event. Â It was a game day & they had a party bus, so the place was pretty empty when we got there. We got menus & immediately our server returns to take our orders. I asked for a minute & she came back after 15, 10 after I had laid down my menu. If she'd been busy I wouldn't have minded but she was standing five feet away yakking at the bar. Â I ordered the mini burgers - she asked me if I wanted fries (they come with chips) & I did. Â Two others in the party ordered only drinks & the fourth tried to order the chips & salsa at which point the server took him page by page through the menu trying to get him to order something else. He commented in the attempt to up sell & stuck with his original plan. Â Our food comes out & the burgers are burned & accompanied by chips. The server is gone before I can say a word. She doesn't return until we're finished & only to drop off our bill. Maybe my expectations are too high, but I expect decent service if you're not busy & for my order to be right. 24 failed on both counts.
Review Source:It was an accident that I went to 24 seconds, as I planned on meeting a friend at the Berkley Front, but entered the bar, ordered a drink and when the menu was brought to me, saw "24" on it.. 4:45pm on a Friday I arrive, there is a VERY loud party of 6 that had been there for over 2 hours.. It seemed like the bar tried to compensate by turning the music volume up. I had a very difficult time conversing with my friend, as we could hardly hear each other speak. My friend arrived, hardly sat down before the waitress came at us with menus, asking him what he'd like to drink (give the man a few minutes to sit down before you bombard him with a menu and drink offerings). My rum runner was very tasty, food was good, but the service was less than par and the atmosphere was not desirable at all. I'd consider giving 24 seconds a 2nd chance. Not a great place for an initial meeting, good food though.
Review Source:Great sports bar! TV's everywhere, including upstairs on their outdoor patio where they have another bar. Prices are very good and they have game day specials for all the local teams so it's hard to pay full price for anything.
I'm not a huge fan of pizza, but I'm the minority on that and I hear it's great. The other menu items are hit and miss. Their grinders are very good as well as their dips.
Great sports bar. Â Hi-def tvs located on every imaginable surface in that place. Â Leads to an easy viewing experience for whatever event you are there for. Â
Friendly (and patient) staff led us to have a great time there. Â Cold beer and great atmosphere.
The only real negative that led to one less star was the wait time for our food to be served. Â Expect a relatively long wait for food to come out...
Other than that, drink up and have a great time.
-For the Berkley area, this is the best option for a sports bar
-decent beer list
-great service at the rail
-great lunch service
-pretty decent food for a sports bar (except for the nachos, those can use some improvement)
-good setup downstairs, nice option to hang out outside on the porch upstairs.
-good drink specials
-beer can be warm at times...especially at bar upstairs
-the cook can be seen, at times, smoking like a chimney in front of the bar (12-mile). Â I'm not a huge fan of seeing the person cooking my food, smoking right in front of me. Â If that "larger" person is not the cook, I would suggest he find another place to take his smoke break.
All in all, a pretty good place to hang out, watch a game, get some lunch.
Ended up here when the Berkley Front was full last week for a late dinner. I've always wanted to check this place out but I was worried it would be packed if a game was on. Turns out we showed up during a Redwings game, and we were able to snag a table before it got to be too busy.
The ambiance is nice, there's some cool memorabilia on the walls and it is a pretty great place to watch a game. My husband ordered beef fajitas and I ordered the salmon asparagus salad. He said his was 'good' but nothing amazing - mine was actually pretty good considering the price was only 12.99. The salmon was slightly over cooked but otherwise the salad had a nice flavor and it was a pretty big size for the price.
I'm not sure if there was a drink special going on, but I was shocked when we got our bill and my well gin and sodas were only $2. And they weren't weak by any means. Pretty good deal. But the drink prices pretty much evened out when my husbands Guinness came to 6.50. Granted they were bigger than a pint.
I'll certainly go back again, if only for the cheap drinks, but there were a few other things on the menu that I'd also like to give a try.
This place is perfect for any game. Â The food is well above average for "bar food", and there's not a single seat that doesn't have a good view of a TV.
Also, in the summer, it's one of only a few "outdoor" bars around with the entire rooftop deck opened up (with a bar, bathrooms, and more TV's up there).
I wanted to like this place. Â We went to watch the world series and they have plenty of tvs, but the sound was so low you couldn't hear anything. Â We asked 4 times to have the volume turned up until they told us it was as loud as they were allowed to do. Â I know the tigers were not playing in it but it was the world series. Â The food was ok, but I was surprised how expensive the beer was $6.25 a pint.
Review Source:This is a great place to grab a beer and watch a game. It also has above average food in my opinion. The rooftop deck is also a nice touch.
I have had a few things on the menu and all were great. The nachos are huge and really good. I always go with the chicken. It is grilled and has that smokey taste to it that comes through in the nachos. The regular comes on a pizza tray, more than enough for 3 or 4 people to share.
They have a great selection of sandwiches as well. Anything with their BBQ sauce on it will be good. Great place overall...
Great atmosphere! The patio creates a very unique feel and was well designed for a relaxing evening. Prices are reasonable. Food is delicious. Staff are always accommodating. Personally I have not had a problem with finding parking, but it may be an issue for some. Overall this is a GREAT restaurant anytime!
Review Source:Go here pretty regular for pizza and wings, and always find whatever food I get to be pretty great. Â Good place to see a game if the isn't too jammed, but they usually have enough staff on hand when it is to make sure that you still get served at a decent clip. Â
Lots of tvs mounted up high, bar games and darts, and rooftop seating in the summer. Â I would really recommend the pizza, and to ask what the drink specials are on a given night, as they are pretty much always running something and , otherwise, they are maybe a touch spendy. Â
All in all, a great berkley fixture.
And  I am being Generous.
We stopped in an  NYE.
Ordered  Burgers  & Fries
[ The Red Coat Tavern was closed ]
The Burger  was  "DRY" and  lacked anything  close to flavor
The bun exceeed  the size of the burger and was also "DRY"
the Fries tasted  like Gordons Frozen Fries
the Bill  for  2 burgers & fries and  one soup & a Margaritta
was $36
Never Again

My fiance and I go here fairly often. Â I appreciate that on Sundays they tag which games are playing on which TVs so you know right away where your team is playing. Â I haven't tried the entire menu yet but I've had the nachos, pizza, wings and chili (not all in the same meal!) and they're all really really good. Â I will actually commit to saying I love their pizza. Â The veggie burger wasn't bad either (though my fiance wouldn't even try it, not the fault of the bar!)
It's become one of our regular hang out spots.
Great place to hang out. Â In the summer the patio on the roof is a perfect place to hang out with friends and enjoy the summer air. Â Food is always good although service is really hit or miss. Â The introduction of the 24 Seconds party bus is amazing. Â For $10 a person you can ride the bar's party bus down to a Tigers game, or wherever your group of friends wants to go. Â Took the bus with about 10 friends to a Tigers game, got to drink on the way down on the bus, and was shuttled back to the bar after the game. Â Big WIN for this place! Â Another great reason that I love living in Berkley.
Review Source:good food, but a really grouchy bartender on monday night. wow, isn't being friendly and waiting on customers how servers make money and represent their establishment? she really needed a happy pill or something. the food was good though, a little pricy for sandwiches, etc., but very well thought out and put together.
Review Source:24 Seconds is a reasonable sports bar that turns into a regular bar on weekends. Â Don't go here on a weekend night and expect to be able to hear the game (or even really watch it - it can get really crowded) Â The food is pretty good, it has some standard bar food, but also some more interesting sandwiches. Â But once again - it gets crowded on weekend nights, so not a great place for late night eats. Â They have a really nice rooftop deck with a bar and a couple of TVs. Â Parking sucks when they are crowded. Â There is a lot behind the building, but between 24 Seconds and the Berkley Front, it fills up pretty fast; you'll end up parking on the street somewhere.
I would go here for:
-Watching games on the rooftop deck on a summer afternoon
-A bar scene with live bands on the weekend
-A burger and beer on the deck with friends on a weekday evening
This place has some really good food. The pizza is great. There are a lot of different options that you wouldn't see on a regular bar menu like the grilled vegetable salad or the fried eggplant and mozzarella sandwich. They have a good happy hour too that goes until 7. It can get crowded for games so get there early. The rooftop is cool too!
Review Source:It can be very hit or miss with this place, but I like it-I really do...less douchey than Royal Oak and cheaper than Bham...
For a big game it will get crowded and smokey-FAST...when I was there for MSU v. Cal football game last fall they didn't have the game sound on-super annoying, I agree with the other yelpers. I have never been the patio...
I think this place has good drink specials and I have never had bad service. I think for a bar it is LIGHTYEARS ahead of other places I have been to...I ordered a turkey reuben and the bread was thick and fresh and so was the rest of it and their homemade chips were fantastic...I ordered chips thinking I would eat one or 2 of them as opposed to fries and then my friend was like, "you do realize they are homemade chips, right?" no...and I ate them all. I heard the pizza here was good and I saw someone order it and it looked better than good...very solid for bar pizza. They have salads and good salads too-a rare find at a bar.
This is one of the few bars in the area that has the classic game photo hunt and you will find me here after work with my friend trying to break that high score record drinking cheap beer. Overall, I mean I have not had a bad experience here-yet and if I do, you all will know....
It's funny how everything can change in an instant.
I used to consider this the creme de la creme of sports bars in the area but last night, my opinion change quite heavily... I should have seen the writing on the wall when I walked in and spotted a man in head to toe Pittsburgh Steeler gear as soon as we walked in.
Pittsburgh Steeler coat: Â check
Pittsburgh Steeler hat: Â check
Pittsburgh Steeler sweatshirt: Â check
Sense of self worth tied directly into the performance of a professional football team: Â check
We sat down and were gearing up for our particular college basketball game and some wings and beer. Â Low and behold, there's music playing over the radio and we came here to watch the game, homey!
We asked if they would turn the sound on the game (a problem no REAL sports bar would ever have) and they told us no. Â No, the SPORTS bar is not going to turn on the sound to the SPORTING event. Â Wait... what?
So, we left at halftime and went to another bar where they were more than happy to accomodate our fandom and accept our moola.
It's a great place to watch a game, as long as there isn't karaoke or a live band DURING THE GAME. Â Not cool, 24 seconds. Â Otherwise, the crowd is pretty sports minded, at least inside. Great flat screen TVs all over the place, you pretty much have a good view from any seat. Â During the Tigers run of 2006 the place was so packed we were standing pretty much from the street... the atmosphere was electric.
Review Source:Eh. I keep going here because it's close and decidedly un-repulsive, but that doesn't mean I like it.
The rooftop is fun in the summer, open space, enough tables and TVs. The food is standard bar fare and nothing to get excited about.
Go to Berkley High School? You might feel like it after a Saturday night here...
After being completely pummeled in my softball game on Monday (uh.. 17-1!) some teammates and I definitely needed a drink. Â Dan suggested 24 seconds in which I replied that I had never been, but was completely willing to check it out.
We went up to the roof top-- apparently other ball players had this same idea because there were other peeps in uniforms. I was pretty impressed with the patio. Nice big open space. Quick service. Cheap beers.
There were some larger tables that cater to larger parties--maybe if we win our game next week the whole team could come out and celebrate!
