When I went to this restaurant over the summer I would have given it 5 stars, however I was extremely disappointed when I ate there last night. The pizza's flavor was more bland, the crust was WAY under done (both the gluten free and regular crust), the sauce didn't go to the crust, they were skimpy on the cheese and the toppings were are clumped in one area. All six of our pizzas came out this way. If you are going to pay over $10 for a personal pizza, I expect much higher quality than that. I hope they improve their quality again, I used to love this place.
Review Source:Stopped in for Sunday lunch, salad, garlic bread, pizza and dessert.
The Mista salad was a good light salad that was appropriately sized, had a nice vinaigrette dressing, pine nuts and a blend of greens with a little cheese and a couple of cherry tomatoes.
Garlic cheese bread was a nice fresh bread, not unlike their pizza crust with a light coating of olive oil and Parmesan cheese. Â Again, not a huge plate of it, but an appropriate amount for the two of us after splitting the half salad while waiting for the pizza. Â
800 degree pizza with roasted red peppers, spicy sausage and ricotta cheese was awesome. Â Sausage was a bit spicy for the wife, but I really liked it. Â It was a high quality sausage, well spiced with a minimal amount of fat, not at all greasy. Â Definitely high quality ingredients in this pizza.
Olive oil cake for dessert was taken to go after the preceding three courses. Â The cake was good and had an interesting orange flavor and was topped with whipped cream and thinly sliced strawberries in juice (probably canned). Â
On the way out we were offered chocolate chip cookies which were good quality and satisfied our sweet tooth until we were home to eat the olive oil cake.
Service was good and efficient and we plan to try their Lima Road location to see if it's equally as good.
We braved a snowstorm the day after Christmas to come here for dinner. Â We were all getting cabin fever and my parents love this place. Â We had eaten at their sister restaurant last year during a visit and thought it was solid. Â There were 5 of us dining this time. Â We were one of only a few tables due to the weather. Â I enjoyed the large dining tables and the room with the view of the large pizza ovens and kitchen. Â The place was very clean and the decor was pleasing. Â We started with an eggplant parmesan and a meatball appetizer to share with the table. Â Everyone loved the eggplant and most of the table liked the meatballs, but my husband and I thought they had too much fennel. Â It was overpowering. Â The sauce they came in was very good and we sopped it up with the perfectly chewy and hot bread they served on the side. Â My mom had the Mista salad. Â It is a good, fresh and clean salad that is not too heavy on dressing. Â Again though, I picked off some shaved fennel and raw red onion...two things I never like but my mom loves. Â For entrees my husband and dad got a sausage and beef ragu special. Â My dad enjoyed it with added marinara, but my husband and I did not care for the flavor. Â There was not enough sauce and I cannot even explain the strange aftertaste....sour maybe? Â Our server was awesome though and gave my husband a pepperoni pizza with spinach on the house. Â When it came out we devoured it. Â Think hot cheese, perfectly dressed sauce, a generous amount of fresh spinach and mini pepperonis, and a crust that leaves you wanting more. Â My uncle and mother got the 4 cheese and mushroom pizzas. Â The 4 cheese tasted like soap to me, but everyone else liked it. Â Overall I would come back as you can tell this restaurant uses quality ingredients, takes pride in their product and tries to source local for specials as they can. Â I think we just had some misses on our order, but overall their pizza is well worth the trip!
