Location - great, atmosphere -good, service -pretty good, menu items looked good, but in reality...wasn't that good. Â
The bread and salad were very good. Â I ordered the weekday lunch special which was an Asian-style taco dish and then i ordered a chicken bowl dish as well. I think the problem is that these dishes sounded good, but the dishes I had was submerged in sweet Asian sauces and that took away from the dish. Â In fact, both dishes were not good at all.
Not in a rush to come back again.....
We found ourselves at this restaurant after plans fell through on another spot. Â We walked in during lunch and were a little concerned that only two other tables were seated. Â The atmosphere was very nice. Â A large open dining room with a huge floor to ceiling fireplace burning. Â One wall was covered with a wine rack and everything was tastefully decorated. Â
The good: Â Grainy, seedy bread with olive tapenade brought out to the table to start.
Buffalo burger: great flavor, good size, perfectly cooked and seasoned with a side of the most delicious crispy, small fries. Â
They brought a member of a party a free slice of key lime pie with coconut macadamia crust for his birthday. Â
The prices were reasonable as 7 of us ate for $100 with some people getting tea, coffee and desserts. Â
The not so good: Â Apple salad: Â This salad was promising with apples, grapes, mixed greens, candied walnuts and blue cheese, but it came out so overly doused in salad dressing that I couldn't really distinguish any flavors. Â
Apparently this place really thrives at dinner and hosts a lot of events and private parties in a separate dining room. Â It did seem like the kind of place that you might want to come for a special dinner. Â Maybe lunch just hasn't taken off yet.
