Certain employees took it to a three star. If they had more like them it could easily be a 4.

Both times I've been here have been NFL playoff Sundays, and both times, the place has been absolutely dead. Perhaps the other reviews are an indication of why.

I'm sure the lack of customers has something to do with the lack of workers, but there is something disconcerting about walking into a sports bar and seeing no one but patrons. Not on the floor, not behind the bar, nowhere. Or was there someone? Suddenly, a guy at a table stood up, took off his coat (he was wearing an 810 Zone shirt underneath), and seated us. Weird.

All of that aside, the food is fine. It's just your standard bar food, no better or worse than anywhere else. I've been to other outposts of the 810 Zone, and the food is consistent. You're not going to be surprised, good or bad.

It's reasonable for what it is and where it is. It's just OK.

I'm not usually much of a fan of the restaurants in this corporate family. The service was great, which is a nice change from what I've experienced with some of their other places.

I had fish & chips, friend had a club sandwich. Portions were generous & prices were much better than expected.

Fish was nice and crispy, but the fish itself needed seasoning...not just the batter. The batter peeled off -a pet peeve. Fries were good, cole slaw was great (tiny portion), tartar sauce wasn't my favorite, but good.

Friend's club was big, but she had to dismantle it to eat it. She ended up taking half home with her.

Went here because I had a Groupon to use.  Honestly?  That may be the only way you'd ever get me to go back.

Showed up on a rather dead Saturday afternoon (after lunch, before dinner).  Only a few people in the place.  I can't really tell if the seater tried to steer us into going to the bar, or if she just naturally assumed that's where we wanted to sit (even though it wasn't).

Service was decent, but a bit inconsistent.  Before ordering, the server was pretty attentive; I was wearing my Sporting KC jersey, and he instantly asked if I was headed to the game and a couple of questions about SKC.  Once the food arrived, he kinda disappeared -- even at one point where I definitely could have used a refill.  But, once it was time to settle the bill, he was back in business.

Friend and I ordered the mac and cheese.  The menu said it blew the "blue box" out of the water.  No, it didn't.  It was decent, but served with a side of hyperbole, apparently.  I ordered mine with chicken, and was surprised that the chicken was served on the side.  Portion size was pretty small for the cost involved -- I didn't expect a giant bowl of mac and cheese, but I certainly didn't get my money's worth, either.

Atmosphere is pure generic sports bar.  Yes, the walls are decorated with hometown items (jerseys, posters, etc. from the Royals and Chiefs), but there wasn't anything about the atmosphere to make it stand out from your typical locally owned (or even chain) sports bar.

Bottom line here is... it's a place to go if Harrah's is your destination for some fun.  It's not a place to go if you're going just to eat there.  I applaud the effort, but really, this place has been around for a while now, and they could have done much better.

This place brags about "Made from scratch" food.  Made from scratching your ass maybe.

Let's start with the food, then I'll rip on the service.  We got the boneless wing appetizer, Buffalo style.  If it were any more salty, I would have sworn the cook dipped his balls in my food.  We both added salads to our meal...hard to mess up a side salad, so no problem there.  We got Mediterranean Pasta and Fish N Chips for our meals.  The pasta was bland.  The Fish N Chips was so doughy it wasn't worth eating.  0 stars for the food.  The next thing you need to "scratch" is the kitchen staff from your roster.  The food totally sucked.

When you list cole slaw as a side with the Fish N Chips, clarify that you are only bringing a small ramekin, not a monkey dish.  THAT IS NOT A SIDE.  That is a garnish.  No harm no foul though...the coleslaw sucked too.  The deep fried twinkie dessert tasted ok....OK.  This dessert originated in Las Vegas and you are serving it in a casino.  May I suggest you try the one in Vegas and adjust your recipe accordingly.  You were way too skimpy on the powdered sugar.

OK...the service.  It took a bit too long to greet us after the hostess sat us.  It was early, and they weren't busy at all.  After that, our server was on top of us...TOO MUCH!  I have never had a server interrupt our meal with so many ridiculous questions.  I felt like I was under interrogation.  Then when we finally got a moment of peace, the manager came over to ask how everything was.  We were so tired of focusing on interacting with the staff instead of enjoying our meal, we just said it was "great" to get him out of our face.

A few tips for our server:
    1.  When you work in a casino and you explain that your special includes 1/2 price appetizers with your rewards card, you need to explain that KC Hopps has it's own type of rewards card.  Anyone else in a casino thinks you are talking about a player's rewards card.
    2.  When you recommend the 1/2 price wells on special, and I order a bloody mary, tell me that is not considered a well.  I mean it came with well vodka...why would I think otherwise?  I bartend for a living for crying out loud.  It's hard to confuse me on drinks.  Don't surprise me and let me find out when I see the inflated price on the bill.  I could argue that the tomato juice or bloody mary mix you use doesn't cost any more than fresh juice for a screwdriver, greyhound, baybreeze, or madras.
    3.  When people leave over 80% of their appetizer and meals on their plate and don't ask for To Go boxes...they didn't like their food.
    4.  When you notice this, ASK IF EVERYTHING WAS OK.  You asked enough dumb and interruptive questions, why not ask the important questions?
    5.  Stop asking if we want refills every time you walk by.  if what I am drinking includes free refills, just bring it and shut up.

In the end I deducted the difference on the appetizer and bloody mary that ended up not being 1/2 price from the server's tip.  It was bad enough that no effort was made to correct our displeasure with the food.  I'm sure the server was miffed by the tip she received, but she did it to herself...to the point that she even said, "I guess I should have clarified that." when we questioned the appetizer and drink not being 1/2 price.  Yes, you should have...in fact you paid for it any way.  If you had any brains you would have explained it to the manager and I am sure it would have been taken care of, and you would have gotten a much better tip.  It wasn't your fault the food sucked, but it was certainly your fault the rest of the experience was a disaster as well.

Kansas City is one of the top culinary destinations in the world.  If you name your company KC Hopps and brag about your made from scratch food, one would expect you to deliver on many different levels.  810 Zone missed on every count.  You'll never catch me back at this restaurant.  I hope the other concepts and locations raise the bar.  This experience was a joke through and through.

I don't normally have high expectations for sports bars, so I don't think I was very disappointed here.
    Service was mediocre.
Appetizers were standard and tasted like they looked (brown and boring). We tried the potato skins, mozzarella sticks, and wings.
I was just meeting some work associates for drinks, and they chose this place because a few of us were staying in the hotel.
It is not a place I would recommend if you aren't already there.

Last visit was on 3/11 and 3/12.  I have been here numerous times, going gambling or concerts at the VooDoo.  Service has always been poor, even if there is not a crowd.  This visit, we had a 20 minute wait to be seated, even though the place was only half full.  After we did get a seat, we had to wait nearly 30 minutes to get one appetizer, and then had to literally chase someone down so we could tab out and pay.  All the meals I have had here have been average at best.  Very "chain like" type food.  Burger seem pre made, wings are so-so. Salmon has been ok, but nothing special.  Not high on my return to list.

This was a pretty terrible dining experience, especially with regards to the service. The time from when I was seated to when I placed my food order was over 20 minutes - and the place was practically empty. I had to ask for water 3 times before receiving it, etc., etc. 1 star.

The food itself was eh. I had the buffalo chicken wrap. It was edible, but there's not much more I can say about it. What redeemed it was the crispy fries and great blue cheese sauce. I basically left 3/4 of the wrap and ate all of the fries and blue cheese. 2 stars.

And the TVs and music kept randomly going out. I'm assuming this was something beyond their control, but it definitely didn't help the dining experience.
