At the edge of Strawberry Hill is the wonderfully laid back Six-Ten Club. Once a private club, Six-Ten has a group of loyal customers it caters to on the daily basis. But are welcoming to newcomers.
The night I went, the bartender told us it was an unusually quiet night. I can believe this because when I have driven by in the evenings other times, the lot is full of cars.
Once you get let into the place, it has a great bar with comfortable seats. The owners were sitting at the bar having their evening drink. The bartender happily got us our drinks and chatted with us about the bar and the area. The owners got our names and said goodbye to us on their way out the door.
Our bartender said they know a lot of the regulars by names. They also know birthdays as well because there was a scrolling message sign noting the December birthdays. The place also has a jukebox and there is a karaoke machine as well. There isn't a regular karaoke night, but the bartender said it's set up on request.
"The songs are kind of old that go with it, so sometimes we just play the jukebox and people sing along with it on the machine," she said.
Prices are reasonable on drinks. If you're looking for specialty beers, try another place.
BIG BONUS -- The bar has one of the best  covered patios I have seen in the Kansas City metro. It includes an overhead heating light ... it's not a propane lamp ... it is an actual switched on light ... and it's toasty! I'm looking forward sitting on the patio in the summer and have the sun blocked!
