More of a beer and snacks place than a fancy coffee shop, this place reminds me of Spider House in Austin, TX with a small town twist. Attracts a younger, southern-hippie crowd. Patio is dog and smoking friendly. Barista was super nice. It is in a pretty sad looking part of town and probably as cool as you're going to get in this area.
Review Source:This is the first place I visited when I got into town. It was about 4pm on a friday and I had just driven from Boone. I was really surprised when I walked in to smell some quality coffee brewing. I hadn't smelled good coffee like that since Seattle, ahh Seattle. Anyway, Ryan told me that this was by far the best coffee in the area and probably the best beer selection in East Tennessee. I was so happy to see Duck Rabbit Milk Stout on the beer menu. They also carry the amber. Nice. Thinking back I don't think I ever ran across any Duck Rabbit beer on the west coast. If someone on the west side sees this review please tell your favorite bar pick up a keg of my favorite stout. Anyway I've been twice now and the last time there was a pretty decent band there playing some folksy covers and maybe some originals. Decent though, nice custom acrylic drum set made by Palmetto I think. Â All in all a decent place and I can't wait to try some of there coffee.
