Amigo Mexican Restaurant

The food isn't very authentic, and is even a bit bland, but keep in mind that you are eating Mexican food in East Tennessee. The servers are very accommodating of large parties of rowdy children after church on Sundays, and food is brought out in a quick manner.

I had a bean burrito, which lacked taste, but the bean dip Amigo serves as a salsa is surprisingly addicting (albeit not very Mexican). Little ones will be happy munching on quesadillas, and if they are happy and well-behaved, you really can't complain too much about the authenticity.

Inexpensive, great service and great food.

It's not super-authentic Mexican, but I keep in mind where I am.  The menu is extensive, and the wait staff is friendly.  In a quiet town, this place is open until 10:30pm on a Friday night, which is great so one isn't limited to Arby's and Hardee's for dinner.  

We ordered Mexican carnitas (spicy chunks of tender pork) and shrimp burrito with a side of grilled vegetables.  Everything tasted good, and the side of vegetables was a very generous portion.  We requested corn tortillas instead of flour, and we got 8 steaming hot tortillas.  If this place served horchata, they would have made my evening.
