First of all, I am not a gamer by any means. Walking into the place I felt totally out of place, as many of the customers and employees have tattoos and are gamers, but as soon as we walked in we were greeted nicely by an employee.
After he took us to our table, we weren't hurried by staff but were able to wait and order as we felt like as our friends showed up. The cocktail list is massive and overwhelming, but they do have some pretty awesome cocktails. Their more formal drink menu was extensive and unique.
I didn't get any of the menu references, but the staff worked really well to help me get gluten free pasta. After my food was taking a while, the server came over to apologize saying they needed fresh pans, etc. to make my food. I was THRILLED to hear they were taking this amount of consideration!!!! The food was good and definitely gluten free.
Everyone else seemed to like or love their food and it was interesting, in a good way, how they offered tater tots.
After eating, we played a card game and relaxed while they kept bringing drinks. It's really a great place to come, eat, and relax.
This place has horrible service. My friends and I went here out of curiosity because we saw the drink menu online. When we got there, there was a weird vibe. Everyone seemed to be ignoring us because they were into their games or because we weren't playing one. The bartender wasn't very friendly and the bar itself was super dark. Creepy almost.
We went to the bar and it was a tiny section of high end tables that didn't seem very inviting. The drink menu wasn't very helpful and neither was the service.
We left immediately. No food, no drinks, no service. Why stay? Even as a gamer, I was unimpressed by everything. Poorly executed.
If your friends with someone who works there, you might enjoy it. Otherwise, pass it up an find somewhere a bit cheaper. If the employees don't know you, and you're not part of their apparently "elite group of gremlin" friends, then you'll be treated as an outcast. Definitely don't expect mingling from any of the regulars either. It seems more like someone decided to open a bar for their friends, and new people are unwelcome.
