I've been to the Ah Z inside the Union before, but this was my first time trying the actual restaurant in Chauncey. I wasn't overly impressed.
The restaurant itself is really small, and doesn't have seating for very many people. Our orders were taken quickly, and after a few minutes, miso soup was brought out to our table. It was mediocre; I prefer miso soup with tofu in it, rather than just seaweed and broth. It took a while longer for our rolls to be brought out, and my friend's meal was brought out way before mine. They seemed to be behind on the other orders that were waiting, too, and there were a total of four customers in the restaurant.
You get a decent amount of sushi, but it just seemed too expensive for what you get.
If you're looking for cheap sushi, this is your place. The rolls are large, mainly because it's all rice. Rolls are supposed to be eaten in one bite, however I find that almost impossible sometimes. There is a relatively small selection and not too much variation or anything special. I would pick the other sushi options on campus over this one any day.
