O-Ishi

Ate there once - greasy, bland food. Would not go back.

Had lunch here last month with the wife after visiting her alma mater. They serve an awesome spicy beef tendon noodle soup. Just enough spice and heat, with a rich beef broth and very tender melt in your mouth chunks of beef/beef tendon. The wife had the spicy beef noodle which is also good, but the beef on her dish is more like lightly battered fried strips of beef. Wish they have it here in Indy, would have been perfect for the these cold winter days.

I've only been to O-Ishi once (over a year ago) and I probably won't come back again. I went there with 3 other people later at night on a weekend so it wasn't too busy. We sat down immediately but we waited almost an hour for our food to come out. It was our first time there and unfortunately it wasn't a good experience. I can understand that sometimes the kitchen can get backed up and food can take longer, but no one even bothered to tell us what was going on. No one apologized for making us wait an hour. People that came in after us got their food and left while we were still waiting for ours. That's a bit ridiculous. I don't even remember what the food was like (probably because it was nothing super special and didn't blow our minds to make up for the hour long wait). None of us were happy. It was a disappointment.
