My husband and I go here about once a month, and I'm pretty sure it's recently changed ownership recently. Last weekend I had their special, crab cakes benedict and added a side of their homemade hash. The hash is some of the best I've had. I am SUPER picky about crabcakes and hollandaise but they did both super well. Crab cakes were crab, not bread filler grossness, and the hollandaise was fresh and light (it's not supposed to look like velveta). We've gone there for wings and fries a few times, also super impressive. Wings were crispy. Bloody mary's are great too. A few things they could improve on is when we ordered mimosas, they came in pint glasses on ice. Huh? That's not a mimosa. And they don't have iced coffee. Sinful in the summer as far as I'm concerned. I think we'd go there more if we liked the general atmosphere and ambiance more. It doesn't have a feel to it, but the food keeps us coming back.
Review Source:Monty's is a great change from the over abundance of chain resturaunts in Williston. We were fortunate to visit on a nice warm spring night and took advantage of the outside patio.
Food was good, nothing to write home about, but I would return for another visit. We started with mussels, which were cooked well. Dinner was a Laplatte River Angus burger and fries. Burger was good, fries were run of the mill.
Overall a good place for a burger and beer (excellent local beer selection).
My friend and I stopped in for Sunday brunch and were extremely let down. The eggs in my Traditional Benedict were cooked incorrectly. What they called poached eggs were essentially hardboiled. I ate one because I was famished and left the other on my plate along with the overly spiced hash browns. These hash browns were so salty they were inedible. It wasn't just salt, it was as if they accidentally added the entire bottle of Mrs. Dash and served them anyway.
It was a terrible experience and I will not go back for brunch.
