I recently visited Aloosh Hookah bar or "Hookah Center" as their sign says today and have some mixed feelings.
After finding the place which is attached to an Arabic market, we were greeted by a 20+ something gentlemen at the door and told us to have seat.
Pros
1.) Â We were greeted immediately, taken care of immediately.
2.) Â The men that work there were all very friendly (At first)
3.) Â Hookah tasted very good.
Cons
1.) Â Their flyer stated having a liquor license, they do not. Â Nor is it BYOB (Why lie?)
2.) Â Even though the venue has been open for almost a month, when I asked for a menu of the different flavors, they looked at me like crazy & then stated they had just opened that day. Â When I asked what flavors he had, I was told "many".
3.) Â After being there for about 20 minutes, all the workers were sitting on the couches, laying down on them, & making out with the woman that were there with them. Â Even though our coals had burned out on the hookah, I had to interrupt 2 of them while their tongues were locked in someone else's throat to replace the coals for us.
4.) Â The entire place was filled with their friends... On the other side of the room, other people who were coming in & out of the "Employee's only" area were also now laying on the couches. Â
5.) Â And my most biggest peeve, my check was $14.10, I originally only handed him $14 not seeing the 10 cents... I instead took back the $4 and handed him a $5.00 bill. Â (My change would now be $0.90), instead he said thank you and closed the register. Â Seriously? Â You look at me as if I have two heads when I give short you 10 cents but then expect me to be OK w/ taking a $1 away from me?
Overall what started out as a nice experience ended badly. Â A word of advice, it's not professional to be lip locked with your female friends with customers in your establishment. Â While I really didn't care you were making out, when you begin to ignore me because you have what may happen in the bedroom later, that's when I have an issue.
