I love this place. Â The Czech and non-Czech food is great. Â I'm a big fan of red cabbage and potato dumplings, but a good burger is always appreciated too. Â The mushroom tart is absolutely delicious! Â The food is always hot and brought in good time. Â The waitstaff is always attentive enough, even when busy.
Review Source:I came for the czech food, and I showed up pretty hungry! Â I ordered Chicken Paprika, potato dumplings, red cabbage, and a liver dumpling soup (the soup was a starter). Â But a few minutes later, the waitress came back and informed me that they were "not serving any more czech food tonght."
I was totally bummed. Â They wouldn't even serve me the soup! Â I settled for a turkey breast sandwich, which was dry.
If you go, get there early for czech food (I was turned down at about 8pm). Â And maybe go with the burger or some standard pub grub if you're going to eat off the sandwich menu.
For positives, the server was really nice, and attentive. Â And the Budweiser was cold and delicious. Â Also, it was cheap. Â Less than $13 for dinner and a 16oz beer.
After Al sold the famous Red Frog to his sister, he couldn't stay out of the bar & grill biz for long so he opened...what else?...Al's Blue Toad. Â That's not confusing. Â Someday I'm gonna buy the shop next to this one and open Ed's Green Lizard. After all, Czech Village is big enough for more than just two bars named after amphibians. Â
Al's a big man with a big heart and he makes it fun to hang out here. Â He's always having drawings and other great bar games to entertain the crowd. Â And of course, Al knows food. Â Be sure to order something from the kitchen, you won't be disappointed. Â There's more here to love than your average bar food.
